We recently moved our sites off of AIT to a more reliable server after repeated problems with email. Once AIT blocked access to our email for 4 days and blamed it on a new "spam filter". Okay, but why was it almost a monthly recurrence? It would get better for a few months, then have another major problem. They just couldn't seem to keep it together, or maybe just couldn't keep help, which tells you a lot about the kind of company it is.
When I askd an AIT sales rep what the uptime guarantee was, he said, and I quote here because I had to ask twice, "Our site says 99.5% uptime. However we do not gurantee uptime."
To quote an old country sign "There's your sign." Need I say more?

The comments msde below by Michael J. Roberts of AIT illustrate the core AIT problem--the guy at the top is not willing to acknowledge he has made terrible mistakes and is continuing to make them. Customer service at AITCOM is getting worse and worse. Recently, a whole array of servers went down for over eight hours (AIT claimed it was an attack--I was skeptical). I spoke with over half a dozen "tech experts" and "support" staff at AIT and didn't find one of them competent. They ranged from Bambi-in-the-headlights to downright bungling. The lead tech person later sent out a mail stating that the servers had been made functional after only a half hour. That was a lie. After a full day of being down, and in the middle of the week, AIT didn't even apologize or offer anything in compensation.

Also, I've submitted ticket after ticket and they are never, never answered properly. You always have to throw down whatever you are doing and go through the horror show of calling them.

Stay away. They are bad news and getting worse.

DO NOT MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE WE MADE. Find a different host. AIT needs a good lawsuit against them. Their hosting capablities are lousy. Sites constantly going down. Service is non-existant. Do not shop price.

Our business was pure hell for several months until we switched to another host.

I have been with Ait for about 2 weeks now and it has been nothing but trouble. They refused to let me set up my own cronjobs saying it was a security issue so I gave them the information to set them up. They tried 4 different times to set them up and never got it right. then a couple of nights ago my website was "hacked". I found out later that ny database wasnt protected at all anyone could just type in the link and go right into my database no login needed. I believe that should be more of a security issue than me doing my own cron jobs. I lost my 3 biggest customers over the crons not working. tyhen i lost several more after being hacked. I am currently atempting to get my money refunded and have moved to a new host. I warn everyone to stay away from AIT. I wish I had found this site before i hosted with AIT and i hope this review will help someone else decide to not host with AIT so they can avoid all of the trouble.

I am the VP of Operations and CIO for AIT. I have been with AIT for over 9 years, and believe that we provide solutions for businesses looking for a specific business segment. I believe that some of the renews may have been made by people that have possibly had an expectation or experience that was not what AIT is willing to provide.

This company has gone down the toilet. GET OUT WHILE YOU CAN. We have been with them 8 years and the last is the worst. Tech support is completely worthless. Our site goes down daily. Tech support makes excuses but can not fix a damn thing.

Has an "E-mail the CEO button" The CEO, if he exists, does not reply. We are in the process of getting off this sinking boat.

I have been with them for more time than I care to count...They have absolutely ruined my reputation and my hosting business...
If you want WalMart welcome greeters to handle your tech support then look no further..

It is a shame because 5 years ago they were a pretty good company and it just goes to show what success, arrogance, and forgetting about what got you to the dance can do...

I purchased the minimum account at www.hostgator.com because of the total lack of faith in this company for a decent deliverable...Hostgator HAS NEVER BEEN DOWN....Not ONCE...Not ever...

If you value your business model stay the hell away from these guys...Moving sites that are interactive is a hard lesson to learn....It is going to take weeks and months to get out from the inane crappy service of this company...But I will....and DO NOT make the mistake that I made....or you will pay for it in frustration, lost accounts and a tech support staff that obviously suffers from major retardation...

Ugh. Just ugh.

Everywhere you look with AIT, sales comes first, customer support second. While they have many useful features, don't let the features fool you!

In the past few years I've started having more and more trouble with AIT. The customer support reps are nice, and I feel sorry for them, but the technical people are terrible. They have repeatedly meddled with my account without telling me what's going on, including disabling my email -- and then emailing the account they just disabled in order to inform me about it, despite having been told not to! This very review is being submitted using my GMail address because I can no longer get my email to function (again).

Terrible, terrible host. Don't trust them with your web site, really.

Stay away form thise porvider. I say this for the sake of your nervous system.

I'm their customer since 1998 and until some year ago I was good with them.

Unfortunately in the last three years the nightmare started, and every day is even worst. I have several virtual hostings plan with them, and finally I got the authorization of my bosses to "escape" from them. Don't ask me why my bosses waited so long, I dunno!!!

The recurring problem I'm encountering with this people is the mail server (especially smtp/pop3) down, but at their mileage, I encounter multiple services and accounts down, overbills, and a completely inexistent support.

For "inexistent support" I mean that techincal support "always" says that's not a their problem and everything works good. In the last month I had 4 days of SMTP down, and only after repeated and hungry solticements they discovered that "someone" installed and antispam filters that was blocking legitimate mails ....

The provider motto should be "the chaos resides here".

Stay away from them if you don't want a nervous exaustion! The worst provider I ever had to work with.

Well I just can say, get out a.s.a.p from AIT. Here is my quick history:

- They promise 1 day setup at Dedicated Servers. It took 3 days to have a server.
- Then I had to register my Nameservers. It took again 3 days until I can explain them why they should allow me to change my Nameservers
- Finally I thought I have a working server, but I was shocked! I've ordered 80 GB HDD but my disk space was only 36 GB. I asked them to correct the issue. Took 3 days again and I had a :

Not working Ensim CP with a not working Nameserver. They have tried to make me pay per incident tickets to investigate the issue. It took 2 weeks until I get an answer from the TEAM LEADER.

The Answer was that my Ensim CP is installed correctly and they have no role on that server. And they assume that the Nameserver software (BIND) will be installed at an additional cost. They even dont know that the Nameserver comes with the Fedora and Ensim Package.

I hope no ones get's messed up with them any time any way.

I've tried and tried to make it work with AIT, but I'm finally pulling out. My server was down for hours out of each week, to the point where my advertisers were angry and contacted me multiple times about their ads "not running". The truth is, the whole site was "not running."

Support hold times were insane, and I was required to keep track of THREE differnt logins just to use my service, my "customer id" and password, which were long numeric strings not modifiable by me, my ftp account information, which had nothing to do with the "customer id" and the domain name user id and password which had nothing to do with the other two logins. I've never seen anything so complicated or annoying.

Most hosts I've used require a user ID and password, which becomes your FTP and control panel login. AIT makes things WAAAAAAAAAAY too complicated. Couple that with unreliable service and customer service that feels like talking to an angry Taco Bell employee through a broken drive-thru speaker, and you've got a real losing combination.

Don't walk - run away from AITCOM.net. I exprienced repeated overbilling and consistant avoidance of responsibility for fixing billing errors. Technically, AIT does well, my site worked well, but once they start double billing you, or making you pay for things you clearly didn't order, you are caught in a trap where if you contest their charges, they can shut your site down and then charge you $25 to reactivate it once they fix their own errors. The internet is full of complaints about aitcom.net.

Poor services, the server was down I have no ideea how many times, a lot of junk emails received, technical support poor. Our plan was on the shared server. When I called them and ask why the service is so poor they said to change the plan from a shared server to a rented server which means $139.00 a month and then we'll not have all those problems. I no longer host with AIT. However, when I did, their prices were too high, the hosting was unreliable, and the tech support department was often slow and unhelpful.

If you're looking for a host, pick a different one!
