Well here we are - 4 days into the "transfer of serviers" that was a "simple transition" and we would be getting updates on how to access control panels ect "over the weekend" - the only updates we are getting are on his VM which are of courese Mr Ricci not taking any responsiblity for anything - he is blaming it all on godaddy.com because of a DNS failure??? - have opened trouble tickets and nothing, have made phone calls and nothing, and now the sites are down AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 4 friggen days come on BOB get real |

Everything was fine until they started this Plesk migration. I have been down for like 30 hours. That is just not an option on one of our busiest months of the year for our company. All my invoicing, product delivery and other stuff runs through the site. Just sitting here with clients ticked. O brother. I have to change host companies. |

Several years ago I hosted my site with AnywhereHost. From a technical perspective this host is very good and the price is right. Nevertheless the management, who was also providing skilled technical support (at least at the time), was rude and responded in a very hostile way to criticism. For all their technical skill I would not recommend to use them. |

I am so furious after the response to my complaint said he was the owner and accused me of being rude. All I wanted was to terminate the hosting package and continue to use their service for domain name registration. I got cryptic replies saying I couldnt do that. Apparently when you use their package which includes "free" domain name registration, they don't register the domain name under you. They keep the name. And when you want to terminate they say that if you don't continue, they would give up the registration and it will take 90 days after expiry of registration for the client to re-register the name. So I said OK I will keep registration with you as a normal domain name service. They said I can't. That I should have read the agreement...blah..blah. These guys don't care about what you want. They will use simple rude language to tell you you can't get out unless you are willing to say goodbye to your domain services and domain name... I have not seen a more desperate company using this approach to hang on to customers. Definitely not recommended. Now I have to ask my client to change domain names. Fortunately, it is an in-house client who can afford the change. This company AnywherHost will not last very long. I am not the only one complaining about the rude owner. He must have many bad days. |

I am writing to warn others about this company- while the plans they offer may seem like a value, the support and customer service is some of the worst I have ever experienced. My problem started when they refused to honor the terms of a free upgrade offer they had sent to me. After a few exchanges over this I asked them to cancel the upgrade, which they did, but only after calling me "childish" for not accepting the charges they were wrongly trying to stick me with.
I then asked a few days later for them to provide me with an auth code necessary to transfer my domain registration to a new registrar. I was not asking to cancel the account, only to transfer registration. They refused on the grounds that their ToS states they own the domain. Regrettably I overlooked this. I asked several times if they would just provide the auth code since the domain was already registered and would do no financial damage or harm to them to release it.
They flat out refused, and made several threatening and accusatory emails referring to the prior issue of the upgrade, which I had already cancelled and was done with. They then proceeded a week later to take my site offline, 3 months before my contract was due to expire. I lost all my files, my email accounts, and website. They cited the reason that "cancellations are effective immediately". But I nevered asked for the hosting plan to be cancelled!! They refused to put the site back online or even grant me access to my files.
I had another site hosted by them which I became concerned about due to their prior actions, so I asked them to transfer the domain registration on this site, so I could redirect to another host if anything happened before the contract expired. According to their ToS this site domain name I owned, since I met the stipulation of having made an annual payment after 8/11/2006. They blocked this transfer as well, even though their own ToS gave them no legal standing to do so. So buyer beware.... there are many hosting companies out there, the differentiating factor for most is the level of service you receive. You can get much better service from any number of hosts without having to suffer as I did, for the same money. Don't make the same myself and many others have made. |

Stay away from this hosting company. They would not let you upgrade to a better plan at the end of contract, and will hijacke your data if you attemp to move your site to somewhere else. I have asked them to extend the service for 1 month, so I could get my data, but they would't let me do it, and force me to pay them a full year just to retrieve my data.
I have reported this kind of service to Better Business Bureau and I filed a small claim against them. |

I don't really have any complaints about this hosting company.
There are many different ways to contact customer support via telephone, email, helpdesk ticket or live text chat. They are helpful, courteous and usually quick. You can ask them just about anything that you need help with - your site, registering domain names, using Frontpage. They are very knowledgeable.
The pricing is either average or slightly below average. I haven't done much research comparing prices, but theirs is definitely reasonable.
I would suggest this site to any of my best friends. |
