I've been using Avahost for several months now and can fully recommend the service. Super nice and helpful customer service.
It started out well during the first 2 years but then we experienced several moments where our site suddenly goes offline. Right now, our account got suspended without giving us a clear reason as to what we have done, since it is not a billing issue. Customer support also suck.
STAY AWAY FROM AVAHOST!!!...What you’re dealing with at Avahost is just an automated reverse, vampire-like ATM….They promise everything, give nothing and just keep making excuses (by email only) and killing trying to charge you. Started using Avahost over 5 years ago...their tools/templates were ugly and klunky, but easy to use, customer support was decent and the service was cheap. Over time they have really degenerated (I suspect ownership changed hands) and adapted a screw the customer strategy. They used have chat and phone support, now they have neither, though they lie about that and say they do. You will notice that their on-line chat is never, ever, up. There is now way to contact them by phone; you will never get to deal with another human being live. Their flash builder tools don't work, and you won't find that out until you try and publish, after all your hard work. Overall, Avahost is just a SLEAZY crappy operation that will shamelessy screw you out of whatever they can and leave you in the lurch...They will purposely overbill you, double or triple bill you and bill you for services you have formally terminated, hoping you won't notice it and hoping to keep auto-billing your credit card until you do...They have also removed any options to dispute invoices.These people need to be indicted for gross misrepresentation of services, false advertising and deliberately fraudulent billing... STAY AWAY FROM AVAHOST!!!
I was impressed at first and actually refered many customers to AvAHost and Easy-to-build.com but over the last 3 years problems have steadily increased.
No contact telephone numbers here in the US. The company says it uses "The Planet" in Houston TX, but I found out is actually located in the Ukarine --> see www.AVAHOST.RU
their credit card processor confirmed this.
I Wish I had NEVER heard of or done any transactions with this company.
Take it from my bad experience, go with some big company like GoDaddy, or Name.com
They are the worst. Customer service is non-existant. PLEASE DO NOT MAKE THE MISTAKE OF USING AVAHOST. They were down all the time. The webalizer never worked. I don't recommend them to anyone.
I\'ve had Avahost for probably 4 years and for the most part have not had a problem with them. I have never been able to make most of their built in \"value added\" applications work such as PHPchat for example, but I figured the price was right to host my email...until they went down today. No tech support, full voiuce mail box. Are these guys gone? Glad they are only my hosting service and not my registrar!
Support is non- existant. Any email will receive pre-defined "scripts" that do not address the question. I've received the same script for 4 different inquiries. Reliability is poor - when the site or email goes down, they come back and say "we found no problem with your website, it appears to be working." Lo and behold, it magically begins working a few hours later.
Started out great. Over the years there have been more and more unexplained outages. Downtime may go on for hours or days and there is rarely a response when questioned. I used to recommend this host to everyone but not anymore.
They are also blocked by all AT&T accounts so my emails don't get to a good share of my customers. I got a response from Avahost that they are working on that. That has been months ago.
Avahost used to provide good service and reliability, but lately it has really gone downhill. Site has been down several times, and you can not get any information about what caused the outage or what they have done about it. Once it was down for over a day, and then they moved us to another server and messed up the settings so I spent several days getting things back together. Another time they switched IP addresses on us, even though we had a dedicated IP and I had moved my DNS externally (so again, down for hours).
Usability is zero, support is zero. Have felt this way since the beginning but didn't know how to switch hosts. Now. . . . the frosting on the cake I find out I have been paying or a non-existent website. When I tried to sign in it belongs to someone else!!! Yet they are still charging my credit card. The only way I was able to put a stop to it was to contact their third party billing service. They did not answer my e-mail and of course provide no phone number. Their online live chat is a joke - never functioning.
I came to avahost over a year ago. I picked them because I was looking for a cheaper option from my previous web host, which had not kept up with the features available for the price they were charging. Avahost was the lowest bidder and I wanted one that did not use a real time blocklist since I had had problems with my previous host using a blocklist and not receiving emails as a result.
I can't even begin to tell you the problems I've had with this service. The reliability is horrible. In the last month, I've had to email customer support because my email was not working probably a dozen times.
A couple months ago, suddenly I could not access my email, I was getting an error message. I contacted them and they tried to tell me it was my fault. I knew better. I actually had to debug the problem myself by telneting directly to my mail server to get the full error message, I found out it is because they turned on blocking of dynamic IP addresses - Of COURSE I'm from a dynamic IP address - ARG. During that time, customer support demonstrated their utter lack of knowledge and I found out that my mail server was an OPEN RELAY. I had to tell them to turn it off. NO wonder I've constnatly got my server added to comcast's blacklist and been unable to send mail to anyone at comcast.
I am currently in the process of moving to another web host, I prepaid for my plan at avahost and I don't know what will happen to the $75 I have paid but I don't care anymore, its THAT BAD.
I agree with most of the other reviews. If there was a 0 out of 5, it would have been a 0. There is no support available. When they do email back, they repeat everything and state that there is no problem. They blame it on my ability to publish a site yet I have 3 other domains that work without difficultly. Now I am trying to transfer my hosting service and/or domain name to another hosting service, can not figure out where there transferring link is? If anyone has figured it out would you please let me know? Thank You, Lucy
I have been a resell account customer of Avahost for a couple of years. Support = weak. No phone number to call leaves you dealing with their online help desk form and stock answer that everything is just fine and no errors are detected. Meanwhile, emails are bouncing (detected by outside sources), website is down and Avahost technical has its head buried in the sand.
RUN, don't walk away from this host. I am in the process of moving accounts off this host as it really has been a nightmare!

I've been running a web company for 15 years and attracted by the cheap price offered I decided to moved to avahost.
ABSOLUTELY the wrong decision!!!
I've purchase they RESELLER ACCOUNT. It has been very slow, constant problems with server load, just to mention a few.
The effort from the technical support to fix the problems as been ok without really solving anything and lately all the server had to be restore.
Fine, but in the process they've lost data, cancel email accounts of my clients etc etc.
I definitely recommend to STAY AWAY from AVAHOST.NET, they're TIME waster for professional.
Spending less but losing clients I don't think is they right business. The choice is your you have been WARNED.
EMAIL IS ALWAYS DOWN, SUPPORT IS REALLY BAD, UPTIME IS THE VERY LOW. PLEASE, PLEASE, STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY, I HAVE A RESELLER WITH OVER 39 DOMAINS, NOW I HAVE TO SWITCH ALL THE NAME SERVERS ON EACH ONE JUST TO GET AWAY FROM THESE PEOPLE, HAVE CAUSE MAJOR DAMAGE TO MY BUSINESS!!!!STAY STAY STAY STAY STAY AWAY!!!!!!!!
Up to yesterday, I was reasonably pleased with the hosting at Avahost and was considering moving the company site over to Avahost. I was a satisfied customer because I never had to deal with support. Get this email I received:

Since this is a simple php blogging utility, I was interested in what purported abuse of which I was accused. Here is their reply:
Sales Staff has responded to your help desk request.
Email is constantly down. Limited number of outbound messages of 250 an hour. We are a med sized company and generally exceed that at least once a day, forcing us to wait for the timer to reset. We are administratived taken offline for no reason other than they see our volume of messages. Online hosting services have a long way to go in customer support.
Avahost is an excellent company to host your site with. The support is top notch, and quick. The prices are great for all their services. I would highly reccomend Avahost, especially for newbies to the world of web hosts.
Uptime and speed of site is great. Tech support is below requirements. No phone support, just e-mail to somewhere. Generally the support answers do not solve the problem. I have been trying to fix an error in my control panel for several months and all I get is the runaround. I plan on moving my site next month.
