I was very happy with banana hosting until a few weeks ago when I became unable to edit my site using site studio due to security issues, but today I find my website has vanished from the internet altogether.
I have been with Banana Hosting about 9 months and haven't experienced anything other than supperb support from 'Johnny' whenever i needed help setting up my site. Thumbs up all round, everyone should go bananas!
I tried another hosting service and their everything from their, so called, easy to use site builder to their cutomer service was extremely poor. However, I found Banana Hosting and all has been great, I take that back, it has been stupendous. I am a new site builder with some computer language (html) skills. The site is very easy to use and if you have any problems, Johnny is the man with the plan. I am extremely happy after about a month. At least for now, while I am getting my first website off the ground, I have nothing but respect for Banana Hosting. And what a cool name too!
I am a tech idiot and it took me a while to find the right kind of hosting. I had rec's from friends and former colleagues, internet reviews and the like but nothing made much sense to me.
When I found bananahosting.com, I was excited to see there was online, live support. I turned my questions to Johnny and he answered everything so that I could understand (within limits, of course ;)
The package I use is perfect for me, the pricing is very reasonable and the payment plan fits my needs wonderfully. The support has been OUTSTANDING and Johnny's infinite patience and obvious expertise have made using bananahosting.com a true pleasure!
I have been with Banana for a few months now and I don't see myself going anywhere else! Any problems or issues I had were dealt with in a timely and efficient manner, not to mention the kindness and easy-to-follow directions and correspondence that made the transitions painless and stress-free. (Past experiences with *other hosts* were sorely lacking in the quality support I have come to expect from Banana!)
I'm only sorry it took me this long to give praise where it is due! I highly recommend Banana Hosting and services. You won't meet friendlier, more helpful people who seem to really care about you and your successes like Banana hosting seems to!
Banana hosting has been absolutely fantastic with their email support and general help, I have had a few problems (due to being relatively new to computers and web hosting etc) but Johnny from Banana was 100% helpful and sorted my problems out with no problem at all.
I have already recommended Banana to one of my friends.

I've been thru the mill with hosts. Finally I am hosting with a smaller enterprise which gives me the consistency and quality I need for my sites. After bad experiences with WestHost and Apollo Hosting (yes I was stupid), I am happy for the moment.

Supportive - Not arrogant when it is clear you've done something silly in the control panel
Honest - If banana doesn't have features, Banana will be straight forward
Flexibility - Selection of either Windows or UNIX hosting. Gives me more options when looking for e-commerce solutions.

I love Banana! Anyone with web hosting needs would and should feel 100% comfortable relying on Banana Hosting. I went with them in the beginning because they were the cheapest and were such a good value as well as had the best options for building usage needs with my company growth. They offer plans that give you exactly what you want so you don't feel like you are overpaying for things you don't need. Now that I have been with them awhile I love them because they are so reliable. They are always quick with answering my questions and I have seen them go above and beyond the call of duty several times. They treat each client like it is their only client! They are great! I highly recommend them!
Banana Hosting is our 4th host this year, after having bad problems with others. We have been using Banana for 3 months now and are extremely pleased. There seems to be virtually no down-time, and their servers are extremely fast. The mail system works great, and their MySQL servers work better than any we have tried to date. In the beginning, we had a couple of very minor issues with stats, and their e-mail tech support was great at resolving the issues quickly.
I came across this host on the search for a competitively priced host that would offer windows (asp) hosting as well as php. I did get in touch with their support before I signed up as I had some specific requirements that I needed to host my sites and that caused issues with other hosts. The answers came promptly and I loved the online 'talk to support' chat facility. I signed up the same day and have been continously impressed with teh customer service and the prices/service ratio.
Banana hosting ends my search for a reliable and cost effective hosting. I have no problems with reliability issue with Banana hosting. The customer support usually replies within a day which is a plus. The only reason why I gave 4/5 for customer support is that I wish, as a bonus to my positive experience with this reliable hosting company is that I can enjoy a 24-hr live support for immediate help. As a newly self-employed web designer, I was looking for a host for both my own web site and for those of my (sometimes poor) clients. I was overwhelmed by the number of hosts out there and ended up choosing Banana because I liked their logo. My strategy has worked out well. I've had several self-inflicted problems with account set up and the folks at Banana have responded quickly, politely, with great advice.
When I uploaded my site originally, the PHP email forms on my website didn't function properly and was told by Banana Hosting that the problem was probably at my end. However it turned out to be a problem with Banana Hosting's smtp service, but this was only after I had wasted a lot of time fiddling with the forms.
Generally speaking though it appears that Banana Hosting is very good value for money. Their interface is simple and the support is (generally) quite good.
Highly recommended. I initially chose Banana Hosting for their low price ($36/yr for the Banana Lite 100), and have been very pleased with the customer service. The few technical issues I had were fixed promptly, and were always handled by someone who was technically capable -- unlike the previous large host I was with, where technical support requests were initially answered by people who knew absolutely nothing.
After several very negative email hosting and spamming experiences with other host providers, I have had no problems of any kind with Banana Hosting. There has been a single unplanned outage that affected my sites and it was a brief one. All questions and issues have been promptly and efficiently resolved. I now have two six domain accounts and will start a third soon.
Absolutely one of the greatest web hosts that I have ever deal with. Communication is solid; they'll let you know in advance if they plan to do upgrades. Most of all, flawless servers. I'm glad I found Banana Hosting. It is quite a=peel-ing - but seriously, give them a try, you won't be let down.
I would highly recommend Bananahosting. The very best support period.
My only complaint is that they will not support the 2.0 .net framework until next year. This also tells me that they test all software before they load it on the servers which is a good thing.
I chose Banana a few months back on seeing happy customer testimonials from multiple sources. And the truth is Banana Hosting has far surpassed my expectations. In fact I find their quality of service incredible considering that they charge peanuts for their plans. (I stll find it difficult to believe that Johnny makes any money out of this business)
Email support is awesome. Often enough I have gotten an informed response within 5 minutes of lodging a request.
I would stick with Johnny Katouff and Banana even if they were to raise prices by 50%.
I have given banana a 4/5 on reliability not because I have had a problem so far (no problems so far) but simply because I dont think they can make any profits with such awesome srvice at such a low price. And its rare that I give 5/5, and never on all points.
Banana deserves 5/5 on all accounts even if I have given 4/5 on one.

I was referred to this site from a friend who is hosted there. Johnny is great. My only compaint is I don't know how to operate the upload program and thus being why my site is not working and up properly. They don't offer enough help for us computer challenged webhoster wantabee (HEHE)
Banana hosting has been great. They have awstat and webalizer, both are excellent tools to monitor your website. The price is unbeatable. The only downside is that there is no phone support, but email support is very responsive.
We switched to Bananahosting in June 2005 and have been very pleased with the service and support. Speed of email has been occassionally slower than expected but it improved dramatically in July / August with a major service upgrade they made. Bananahosting meets our needs and budget and we would recommend them to others looking for reliable web and email hosting.
We have a fairly busy website that receives over 1,000,000 hits per month, and is updated every day. Because of that, we demand almost no downtime, and expect prompt answers to any problems. We get both with Banana. Very adequate database availabilty and great pricing. The fact that they accept PayPal is a big plus. "Grade A" server.
Anyone interested in hosting?? You have got to check out www.bananahosting.com. Its good for money, and their customer support it above excellent. During the time I've hosted with them, they have a system where you can submit a 'TICKET'. ie: if you have any queries or questions. May I say that it is amazing how fast they reply. Normally within the hour. I am extremely pleased, and they dont stop at just your problem, they go beyond. Some hosting companies take ages to respond to you and some dont even bother.
There is only one thing that bothers me, but you can see it as a good thing. They are continously doing updates to the hosting control panel and others, that the site may not be available through control panel for an hour or so. It rarely happens that it takes that long, so users can rest assure, but sometimes when you're working on updates it may come a bit irritating.The good thing is that it is being updated so less prone to hacks and others. ITS SAFE!!

I cannot recommend Banana Hosting enough. they have by far the best customer service we have ever encountered. After moving to Banana ourslelves we now have 15 of our clients sites powered by banana hosting and there hasn't been one single complaint. I'm happy, my clients are happy. My fellow techies are amused by the fact that I have my personal site hosted by this small British company whose data center is, ironically, located here in the States. The price is extremely low as compared to other hosting companies. But they have alot of trouble with their servers. However thye notify you be email, and the site is never out of use.. just they would be updateing or arraning somethin and cannot acces control panle. other than that greaTT
I was on the hunt for a great internet host and tried a few, and even reviewd them on here!! I tried the supposed #1 rated host and after a HORIBLE experience, I decided to give these banana guys a try. The name was a little bit of a concern... I didn't want a bunch of monkeys running my website. However, the support I got over the past few days for a measely 36$ per year is better then anything I've ever over the past 3 years with other more expensive hosts. I feel as if I'm ripping them off. I should be paying more --- shouldn't I? Geeze, what else can I say... they'rrrrrrre GREAT!
I have done web pages on Yahoo, and it was a drag. Just trying to get some help was virtually impossible. At Bananahosting, Johnny always seems to be there with an answer. It is really well priced, with a useful range of options - if you don't need much you don't have to pay much, unlike many other hosters. I use Frontpage, and have never had any problems. I highly recommend it, and am transferring some of my other sites here.

Most of my clients are in the process of moving their site over to Banana. The support guys at banana are always on hand to help with any problem you have. In my opinion everyone should GO BANANAS!!

I have been with Banana Hosting for a few months now and I am very happy. I have been in the computer game for a few years now but as an IT/Networking major in school with just some basic classes taken in Web Site and B2B type development of sites. I have owned, operated, and had at least 12 domains and Web Sites over the years with different hosting companys and by far Banana has been the very best.
To make a long review that you may not read all of I'll break everyrhing down quickly. Technical support beats all. I have had many questions with some very particular ideas I have wanted to try on my site. The Price cannot be beat. Communication with anyone at Banana has been quick effecient and to the point and always correct. Their email program is great and very efficient.
My only problem with BANANA has been that their Hosting is so in debth with so many features that I have yet to use or understnad it all. It is mindboggling sometimes. But as I have said they are great at explaining how to use all their great feature in their rich hosting atmosphere.

After using many hosts, i found banana hosting to be very special. not only is the price affordable but the host is reliable and the after sales is 100%. i would definately reccomend to others who want to host personal or business sites.

The fact that I have 8 sites on this service speaks for itself. Banana Hosting is incredible value for money, the support is second to none and the included products and components really add this icing to a rather tasty cake.

Overall a great host. I found it after reading other positive reviews and have found no reason not to recommend them. The price is really good , especially for the facilities they offer and support have always got back to me promptly. It a shame there isn't more automatic support online - FAQs, knowledge base. But maybe that's filled out a bit more since I last looked.
Banana hosting is the best. My previous host charged more money, had less amenities, and poor customer service.Questions and problems are answered within hours and the support is awesome. Support has even been able to fix problems with MY scripts. When was the last time you got a Happy Holidays card from your web host?

We had bought a product on-line for e-commerce to do PayPal IPN
processing via ASP scripts. It had a great marketing write up but we
were never able to get the software setup and working and there was virtually no support. In trying to get the software on-line we contacted another customer through their products Forum page, and found that they couldn't get the product working either! However they did have an excellent solution they recommended, E-Goods Protector at www.Bananahosting.com .
The customer reported it worked reliably, installed the first time correctly and they were very pleased with the product. We immediately bought E-Goods protector and had exactly the same results. The service has been excellent; Johnny installed the softare and then helped us through all the problems, all of which turned out to be our lack of experience. The end result is that E-Goods Protector does exactly what it is claimed to do and reliably. We highly recommend the product to others needing a PayPal IPN solution.
Because of the quality of service we experienced with E-Goods Protector and being able to have an integrated solution for hosting and the E-Goods Protector, we moved our hosting to www.bananahosting.com. Again the service has been outstanding and we highly recommend this hosting site to others.

In my time with Banana Hosting, I have only had one problem which occured right when I started up my account. That problem was resolved incredibly quickly, and since then I have had nothing but smooth sailing.
After years of moving from host to host I locked in on a keeper...BananaHosting.com I've used them for nearly 3 years and never a glitch or a hiccup. When I first signed up I had a few questions which they responded to immediately and were dead on perfect with their answers. I've since sent 2 other organizations to them for hosting and they're pleased as well.
Support appears instant (even with the UK US time difference). No confusion you know what you get forn your money. Have and will continue to recommend to others.
Not for the faint of heart or anyone that is not prepared for learning or the time involved in learning all about hosting and designing web sites. ALthough there is more than ample support files and the site studio is dummy proof for a quick site up and running. The problems I have had i sent in trouble tickets that were responded to very quickly.

But i must say Banana hosting is the best of allothers i am with them becuse of thier fast and excellent support !
