Well, even better, it seems some 7 months after cancelling our contract with them (and not using ANY services from them), Beamhost/Coveria have now STOLEN over £700 from our Switch card.
Convenient that the only way to cancel their contract was via a web form and therefore no proof of the cancellation which the Bank/Police require to prove a fraudulent transaction.
THIEVES. Simple.
It is procured by othellotech(http://www.othellotech.net/) this March. Then, data and SQL database data loses. Shut down without the early warning. Have problems the reply to at least wait for 2-5 days. I have already given it up.
The company is only contactable via support tickets on the web, which can go unanswered for upto a week. Not only this but the can loose all of your data and there is nothing you can do about it.
Under no circumstances use this company. They don't take any backups of the data, so ensure you have full backups yourself if you already use them. My website went down on 30th November and I can't get any response to the logs I have raised with there help desk. I have also telephoned them on a number of occassions and left a message on there answer machine, but nobody has bothered phoning me back. The telephone number is 0208 4693456. Beamhost is part of a limited company called Coveria and I wouldn't reccommend anybody to use any one of there companies.
I believe our old webmaster has been hosting other sites at my expense. I've emailed BeamHost LOADS of times about this over the last 6 months but they have not replied to a single message. If he has been doing what I suspect him of, then he has been using my credit card fraudulently - you'd think BeamHost might take this sort of thing seriously, but they couldn't give a stuff.
Now a whole heap of sites that I thought might be hosted at my expense have all gone down. The 'webmaster' is claiming on another site that it's BeamHost's fault and that they had a hard disk failure resulting in loss of data. A friend of mine who owns one of the missing sites has been trying to get hold of BeamHost for days - his site has been down for over two weeks now!
His tickets say that he is LOW prioirity! Just what constitutes high priority if a website they are supposed to be hosting disappearing for over 2 weeks isn't important to them?!?
No reply. To any tickets or emails. EVER.
My advice - don't touch this company with a barge pole. They don't reply to tickets AND they don't have a working telephone number. Do they even exist any more or have they gone bust without telling anyone?
No replies to e-mails. Support requests go unanswered. I'd suggest you back up your data fast if you're using BeamHost. What a disappointing waste of time.
Got gradually slower and slower whilst charging more and more. Eventually the site disappeared completely. They don't answer support tickets, they don't respond to emails and there is no way to contact them. Absolutely disgusted with them and would advise no one to join them, and if you already are with them, get a backup of your data and go elsewhere immediately. Amateurs, cowboys and thieves.
It's a shame this site doesn't allow me to rate as 0 out of 5 or lower as this is exactly what they deserve.
I started of with a small problem at first with beamhost because the domain took a while to be registed, but they was quick when i asked them what wsa going on, and when they realised there was an error they sorted it straight away for me. I hardly had any problems with beamhost, and i cant remember any downtime at all with them. They answered all my questions i had to ask, and the support was very very quick, i was really impressed with beamhost, and well worth the money,
I rate the Host overall 4/10.
