Web Sites are constantly crashing to page cannot be displayed, only to be back up for 10 min then crash again, not to mention database corruptions due to server side errors. Offered Phpbb 2.6. while other companys were offering phpbb 2.11.Always a day late and a dollar short. And as for the tech support, bwaaaaahahahaha! I was told the sites were crashing because of my browser cache.... and that when a large PhPBB forum database gets corrupted for the 3rd time due to the hosts' errors that these things happen and PhPBB is unstable @ the best of times.
Bidforhost has more down time than uptime but hey.....the price cant be beat.

I've been with bidforhost for awhile now, and overall would recommend their services. It's a small company run by a guy called Stobe, but he responds very quickly to emails and postings in the support forums. They offer very cheap plans. Their bronze plan is only $2/month, perfect for personal homepages or small company. Their gold plan is $5/month for 500 megs space and 3gigs of transfer. They use cpanel, which is my favorite control panel, and offer all the best features such as unlimited emails and databases. And unlimited subdomains as well, something most hosting services don't offer anymore.
I did have problems with them a year and a half ago, when Stobe left for vacation for a few weeks and things went crazy in his absence. But since that, reliability and support have been great.
Overall, probably not the best choice if your business is dependent on your site, but it's an excellent choice for building an online presence. |
