I have been with DatHorn for over 4 years now. I've recommended them to numerous web design clients of mine as well. The support is near instant and usually gets me the right answer the first time I ask the question. Affordable and reliable are two words that describe DatHorn perfectly!
When I think of Dathorn I think "Near instant support response times". I've been hosting with them a long time. Response times to support tickets are always less than 30 minutes - usually much less. Even at 1am in the morning, its amazing. Of course, the support is actually helpful too, and the issue is usually solved right then and there.
Downtime is basically non-existant!
They have a good forum, plenty of useful posts.
I won't give them 5 stars though, because there plans could be more competitive.
I'm thinking of getting another hosting account with another company that provides more bandwidth. But even if I do, I'm sure I'll be keeping my current dathorn accounts there because I trust dathorn a lot.
They have very inexpensive reseller hosting which is suitable for less resource intensive sites. Certain scripts (and domains) are banned if they're too resource intensive. The customer support assumes that you know a little bit about what you're doing, and it's recommended that you always search the forums first before submitting a ticket. That said, support has never taken more than 20 minutes to reply, and 1 to 5 minutes is more realistic. Even on a Sunday at 3am. I am very impressed by this host. Its own website looks like it was made in 1999, but the people behind it are top notch and extremely customer and system efficiency oriented.
After a series of nightmares, and a lot of research I found Dathorn, and have stayed there for more than two years. No one will hold your hand to teach you the Dathorn ropes, but if you have an inquisitive mind you'll find your way. And when you have an issue, you get an answer in minutes, not hours or days. I wonder if these guys sleep!. This year a server crashed and I was offline for a few hours. That was the only serious incident I can recall, and they kept us up to date regarding the process of repairs in the server farm.
I've had other hosts but I've found Dathorn to be the very best. Not only is the price great, but the service is fabulous. I can't give a stronger recommendation for this company.
Dathorn has a great reputation for reliability and fast cutomer support. Their prices are pretty good too, with lots of space and bandwidth included in the packages for a reasonable price. Also worth noting is that all their packages are reseller capable, that is you are able to host many domains through the popular WHM/CPanel control panel. This is a great idea if you have more than one site to host.
There is a downside, though. Dathorn seem to cram quite a few web sites on a single server and are quite quick at suspending and banning sites that get use too much in the way of processor cycles.
I must say that Dathorn has a really good service. The uptime is always very good and the price is excellent.
The only problem I have ever had with Dathorn is getting your hosting re-activated if it gets "turned off" for some reason (exceeded bandwidth, expired credit card, etc.) When this happens, the staff at Dathorn really takes their time getting your account reactivated.
