One of the most all around hosting companies I've ever used. If their plans had more space I'd still be with them. Super support and the most knowledgable support staff. |

Awful! Stay well away from this company. I got a VPS and believe it or not they left the shutdown feature on, allowing another VPS subscriber to turn off the WHOLE server! I found this so hard to believe. Frequently all the services will stop running on the server, meaning that although I can ping, I am unable to view sites, run mail or access the machine to manage it! I consider myself to be an expert at server management - these guys don't have a clue! |

Their services are great. I would suggest other users to try our Dinix. And that's true. You can wait an answer to troubleticket at 4AM! Usually troubleticket and support questions are answered in 5 minutes. If i'l email them about something i just need to refresh my INBOX 2 times and i will get an answer. Their support is the best. |

I have been with dinix for only a week and I have still not hadmy account setup. I have tried to contact telephone support, they either tell me it will be up within an hour or tell me they will call me shortly. I havent recieved one phone call or had my account setup at anytime. I do not reccomend this company to anyone. As for now this is clearly fraud and I intend to pursue legal action if my services are nolt rendered. |

They hosted my retail site and in August my site suddenly went down- All my emails came through this site and it was a pretty extensive shopping site- my business came to a grinding halt and they have never answered any of my calls since they informed me they had a hardware crash and that my site was lost for good. I have not known what to do and have since rebuilt an small site and changed my web address etc- the site was an expensive one for asmall business to build and they have never once said we are sorry. The only word i heard from them when they found they could not charge my card any longer and they called to say I had a past due bill! just had to get this off my chest thanks Darcy

Dinix started off decent for us, I had good support while installing SSL certs and what not. But this spring they went down the drain. They rely on Cpanel as a crutch for their customer service. Somehow Cpanel installed MailScanner on my account, but it never integrated it correctly, so whenever the server reboots, MailScanner doesn't configure correctly and freezes all in/out email until I SSH in and manually boot it. No one in customer support will help with that since they say MailScanner is not supported by Cpanel, but that's where it came from!! I've had several other major email problems, too, and they always say I just need to upgrade Cpanel to fix it.
Dinix is horrible now! Avoid them like the plague! |

We were pretty happy with dinix, that is before they merged or got bought out by web host plus, I had conflicting reports on that. Now things have changed so dramatically it feels like dealing with different company. The service is very unprofessional, unreliable and costing us tons of money. Someone is constantly logging on our server from Russia, I mean we store some important data on our server and have no idea, if it’s safe?!!!!!! Stay away from them. The worst service we have ever had. |

This company was great and would have been reviewed in a much kinder fashion if they had not been bought out by webhostplus. Dinix was great however, Web Host Plus is by far the worst hosting company I have ever dealt with. Their tech support sounds like 3 Russians in a Brooklyn basement. My problems are resolved only after several days and the reliability is substandard at best. I would sooner jump off a bridge than ever host with web host plus again. |

Dinix was great. I spent months trying to get a host that had the features I wanted at a good price. The tech support was great! At 4AM I could expect an answer to my ticket in about 30 min. They also did a lot of the work for me instead of telling me how to do it.
....then they merged with Web Host Plus. Wow, what a disaster. Tech support? Haha. yeah right! Expect to wait DAYS before you get an answer that wopnt help you or fix the problem! |

Dear user,
My comments are simple, do not use Dinix VPS server, reliability is simply a word that doesn't exist at Dinix. We were using a Dinix VPS as secondary MX, well we lost a lot of emails. Theirs servers just keep crashing all the time and you have to wait sometimes more than 48 hours for a tech to answer your ticket.
Do I need to say more ?
We migrates our servers to RackForce, hope it will be better than Onsmart and Dinix this time. |

Dinix WAS great. It's been 2 months since Webhostplus took them over and my VPS server has been down about 200 hours since then. Today it's down again.
DO NOT USE WEBHOSTPLUS or DINIX.COM! |

Beware, Steve. When you are caught in any migration issues then you will be left hanging high and dry. "Hanging high and dry" for those people who do not understand means that you will receive no technical support. They only have a person who picks up the phone to state that "the technicians are working on it". But the reality is, Steve, can you afford 4 days of downtime? Currently, they are three and a half days down for my site.
I may have been penalized by Google and Yahoo and MSN already. I was in the number 34th spot for the keyword "free personals" on Yahoo and 250th or so for Google.
Perhaps, you are not concerned about downtime with your site but if you are then you should be very, very cautious with Dinix or Webhostplus. They have been extremely unprofessional as a hosting provider.
Lisa, if you would like to join my company in a quest to find other webmasters and companies who have hosted with Dinix and have been plagued by similar problems in any migration issues or other issues then please email me at (vince_gilly at yahoo.com). I would seriously like to pursue a class action lawsuit.
It's right now March 27, 2005 at 8:43 pm PST. I just spoke with the CSR at Dinix and I told him I'm seriously pursuing a class action lawsuit. His response is "I can't comment because you are threatening with a lawsuit". No apology. They have never, I state NEVER, once apologized for this downtime. Neither have they replied to my email regarding monetary compensation. This means they will not compensate nor are they planning too.
I believe, Lisa, if you are losing serious cashflow as a direct result of the migration issues there is a good chance of success with monetary compensation. I'm 100% certain that there are thousands of like customers of Dinix and Webhostingplus who are in a similar situation. It will take time as lawsuits of this sort and magnitude do. But eventually Dinix and thus Webhostingplus will pay the ultimate price.
Lisa, log everything. Record all your conversations and keep all your financial records. If you lose business then we may need to have an affidavit from your former customers that they did not wish your services any longer as a direct result of the downtime.
In the meantime, bail Dinix and Webhostingplus. Find another hosting provider. I'm currently still searching. There are a number of good hosting providers at a reasonable price with no migration headaches. |

Dinix has recently (March 2005) merged with another web hosting company named Web Hosting Plus. The migration stage has been a nightmare. The downtime on my site has been approximately 2 days now. There is a 24 hour customer service on the migration issues but all they give you is a blanket answer stating they are working on the issue still. There were a few setbacks. In business, that's not a satisfactory response.
Moreover, we received only one email sent March 23, 2005 at 9:10 AM PST stating the following:
"We are excited to inform you of the migration between Dinix and Webhostplus will commence this Friday, March 25 towards the evening time. Please refrain from making any updates or changes during this time as the servers will not be active till migration has completed. Do keep in mind that Dinix and Web Host Plus will do everything possible to keep downtime to a minimum. Some data will be migrated through our networks and some will be moved physically. We will be available by phone and live chat 24x7 during this time for any questions you might have. You will be notified immediately by email once migration has completed and would like your feedback on any outstanding issues or concerns you might have. Feel free to contact us toll free at (877)-467-8758. Thank you for your patience and support during this time. We are proud to have you join the Web Host Plus family, thank you and have a pleasant day!"
When at I called at around 9 pm PST on March 25, 2005 the customer service rep told me nothing. She basically said that the technicians haven't given them an update.
My site isn't a large site with thousands of visitors; however, I received a couple hundred and do lose some revenue. I don't know how this will effect my search engine ranking as currently I was number 34 on Yahoo for the keyword "free personals" and number 247 on Google for "free personals". I've called every 12 hours or so. The customer service reps only tell me they are still working on it. Strangely, Dinix decided to have their website up first before the other websites. That was my understanding as the CSR told me they manage to get part of the Dinix website up and should have the remainder up shortly and then the remainder of the other hosted sites up running as soon as possible. There is the extra loss of revenue and the loss of my daily current members and potential new members.
When the CSR told me that I can email them regarding updates I sent them the following after speaking with the CSR:
"Just a comment on the time of downtime. The downtime is WAAYYYY too long. I've been receiving errors since 11 am PST and it's now 9:30 pm PST. That's down 10 hours and still counting. Are you going to compensate your clients monetarily for this extensive downtime? I think you should. I'm certain your clients are losing thousand of dollars because of this downtime. Considering it's the long weekend as well and many sites are still active during this time. Shouldn't you be doing this move in the early morning hours as opposed to a peak time of day? Your technical support team has been good. However, the managers and executives who decided upon this migration strategy has displayed some poor judgment."
I never received an email back from them. No update status. No estimated time of downtime.
Now I'm certain there are more than a handful of sites that were receiving much greater daily revenues and more traffic than I was and thousands of smaller sites that were creating some revenue. This is a potential loss of thousands of dollars per day if not per hour. Dinix and Web Hosting Plus should have taken measures to minimize the downtime. I'm not an expert at migration issues but, perhaps, if there were some redundancy of data, disk mirroring and load balancing this could have reduced the downtime considerably.
So I'm asking anyone out there who were hosted with Dinix during this time if they would like to start a class action lawsuit against Dinix and Web Hosting Plus. Email at my other sites hosted on another machine at (admin @ free-searchengine dot com) or (vince_gilly @ yahoo dot com). |

I am really sorry that I am writing this letter now. It has been more than 24 hours now and it is 4AM in the morning of March 27th 2005. My sites are down…
I have this dedicated server with Dinix for last one year. During this time they got sold or got merged twice. Every time that happens, they migrate. When they migrate, only God knows how long it will be down. Last time, it wasn’t that bad. But this time, they merged with webhostplus.com and it is taking more than 24 hours to bring things back up. I can not sleep; I host a newspaper and online school. The newspaper is read by people all over the world. And the school, students read their books and take exams. Now what am I going to tell these people. I will loose this newspaper hosting. Because they are really upset. They pay me a lot for this and from my part I gave them very good service all this time. I really do not know what I will do if I loose them.
I do not think dinix has good “hosting morals” not to mention standards. There is no website that remains down for almost 2 days. Except for dinix. I will hope dinix will compensate its clients for this. They should not take responsibility of what they can not handle.
I will be afraid to stay with this new company (webhostplus and dinix merger) anymore. I have a very bad feeling about this. I don’t think they really realize how much we depend on them. It is surely disrespectful.
