The worst service ever. They will not respond to any emails. It's terrible, I can't express this enough. Avoid this company unless you want all kinds of problems with a nonexistant support. Take it from someone who's been with different companies. This is far and away the worst service I've ever encoutered in 18 years on the internet.
Doorhost.net is really one of the worst web hosts! The support simply can not solve the problems with their own servers. The support person called Saira is a complete idiot. My account stops every day, I'm asking them to fix the problem but all they do is to send me totally idiot emails. Do not use doorhost.net!
I've been with them a long time, only because I got it real cheap and that price has been grandfathered into their current structure, I doubt anyone could actually get it for the price I have now.
With that said, there support is literally non-existant. I have had one simple question I've have been attempting to get answered for YEARS and they will not return emails, no matter what.
BUT, when it comes time to get paid, boy, they're right there on the ball. They let you know too, if you don't pay on time, your service will be cut off right away.
But answering questions? Forget it. I doubt there is even a support person working for this crappy company.
They won't respond to my emails, I'm just going to spend some time making sure I cost them business, which nice websites like this.
1 out of 5 is still too high for DoorHost. Someone needs to shut the door on them - they are very disappointing. Before they were taken over by IH Systems they were brilliant, but sadly this is no longer the case. Their customer service is non-existent. They have an unknown response time for email / support questions and it seems that the customers are the ones telling DoorHost when their sites are down. No monitoring seems to be done. Pricing of 2 out 5 because they are cheap - but you get what you pay for, so only expect an up time of around 75% (or 9 months of the year). :(
Doorhost used to be primarily owned and operated by 1 man, customer support was top knotch. Then the company was sold to Ih Systems, now support is literally non-existant. I'm talking so bad that existing customers are unable to even extend their account because payments aren't properly processed. If you send service cancellation emails they continue to bill you and ignore your emails, you must dispute the payments with your credit card company. If the server you're on experiences problems expect 4+ months before the problem is corrected. They are in massive violation of their own terms of service by not manning the official support email addresses, the support forums, and the support ticket system.
It used to be an incredible webhost, but lately the support service takes even months to retrieve an answer, the webmail it's impossible to check while certain times of the day, it stops having connectivity and just can't enter, and so for the cPanel services, it's just very frustraiting!, Not recomendable, it has become really slow with lousy connection.
The spam heuristics are not even updated the mail is hardly attacked with spam, it's also very annoying and the best of all, that for certain periods of time, they are in the spam blacklists for example of spam cop, thank god they make them out, but it's a real pain in the a%&" when you are trying to contacto your clients and mails come back!
Service was smooth and secure, and support was fast and effective. Then the owner sold the company and commenced a disastrous server migration, with little warning and no time for backups. He's left us with practically no support from the new owner and numerous unresolved technical issues that make our sites simply unreliable. Things may improve, but there's not much basis for hope. Choose carefully, because it's no fun being the hobby that gets dropped.
Well, I have to tell everybody my opinion on doorhost.net DRAMATICALLY changed recently ...
This company was real good, like I reviewed before, thanks' to it's owner and founder : Eric Leyendecker.
Since a month (mid may) or so they suddenly started moving their servers to a new datacenter... (In fact the company had been sold to ihsystem.com)
Since this time the service has become a real hosting nightmare !!!
Sites are up and down for whatever reason, DNS is a complete mess and almost no more support is given despite the serious trouble some clients are in.
Some clients are loosing all customers / visitors because of almost unusable web sites. I lost almost all mail service since 3 weeks ... a NIGHTMARE !
One word : since the founder, Eric Leyendecker, is gone it's an almost unusable service.
The new owners (ihsystem.com) are not event trying to contact us and a lot of former clients have now moved to another hosting service, I did move just after I learned the company had been sold.
As for now, my best advice : STAY AWAY from doorhost.net unless you really want to get in serious trouble !
For those who don't believe me I suggest a short visit to the "suppport" forum here : http://forum.doorhost.net/
I'm with them since about 6 month and never noticed a downed server !
As for their support I must say I never had to ask for it... But as far as I can read they go far beyond what is expected !

I have the biggest availble reseller plan and we share it between friends.

The only negative remark is about the disk space (2gig) they offer... it's a little ... little...
Specially compared with the +60 gig's you get for about the same price with others like dreamhost etc...
In fact I don't use all my space yet but would certainly "feel" better knowing I have a few extra gig's in reserve in case I may need it. Mainly for email purposes !
Eric, please improve this and / or lower the price of additional gig's to about $20/y per add gig and you get 10/5 for everything else ! ;-)

I'm pretty sure they will improve this in a close future and I strongly recommend doorhost as your future hosting company.
This has been a fantastic company to work with. I have been with them several years and have always been amazed at the quick response times and they fantastic support that they give. They go far beyond what you expect a hosting company to do for you - they have even assisted with some coding problems and with some database issues. If there are ever server problems they are prompt and try and get issues resolved as soon as possible. I would highly recommend this company.
Doorhost is simply the finest. The founder (Eric) is responsive and understands great customer service. Most importantly, he is honest, sincere, and a fine person. I can't recommend Doorhost highly enough.
Eric who runs the business goes above and beyond the call of duty to help his clients. The site is security hardened and well run. Eric engenders a sense of community with contests and giveaways. A good place to host.
