I've been with F5Hosting, with about five Website accounts, for several years. When Michael Everhart was running things, it was great. He personally helped me with complex design issues, he understood English, his writing was clear and helpful, he was polite, and everything generally worked great.
After the change in ownership problems started happening. The new tech support team was frequently unable to understand simple problems and simple requests, and one serious problem with email, which interfered with receiving customer orders, went on for almost a week, forcing me to move to another hosting company.
Now that I've moved all my accounts to another company where the tech support is better, I'm breathing freely again. In addition, the cost to me per account is far less, the resources are far greater (including support for free independent subaccounts), and the system is more reliable (using clustered failover technology).
Most hosting companies, in my experience, have similar problems. I don't know of any really great way of choosing a company except to scour the Web for problem reports (keep in mind that all hosting companies will have some disgruntled customers), and be ready to move. Always pay month-by-month.

I can't recommend this host highly enough. I moved to them in August 2004 and have nothing but praise.
My site has run smoothly with minimum downtime. Speeds are excellent and no matter how many users on my site, the pages don't slow down.
Customer support is superb! Tickets are responded to very quickly and responses are personal and friendly.
I would highly recommend this host to anyone! |
