I can honestly say that after dealing with so many sham, fly-by-night webhosts in the past, it is truly RELIEVING to find such a webhost as FatCow. They've been around since '98 and it shows. They know what they are doing. Customer service is top-notch. You need only click that 'Live online help' link and within seconds you are chatting with a real person (ppssst, an english-speaking American at that).
Your control panel is intuitive and JUST WORKS. What more do you need in this area? You don't have to dig around to find any "obscure" settings, its all right there at your finger tips.
Pricing is stellar, I honestly would expect it to be more based on the service. No complaints in this area.
Reliability has been 5 of 5 thus far. I can't speak long term as I haven't been with them that long but I suspect that unless my lil' domain turns into an internet hit overnight that things will continue chugging along nicely into the foreseeable future.
All in all I can find no faults in FatCow (seriously). You will not be disappointed by choosing this host. Cheers!

I just finished a brief stint with FatCow.
I would say they are a good host. Their interface was intuitive, they had a solid knowledge base, and help was only a click away. When I had to cancel my account (explained below) They were quick and professional.
HOWEVER - Fat Cow offers ONE product. This is nice because you know that they don't try to upsell you at all. BUT they don't offer what I would consider to be standard hosting necessities - dedicated IP addresses or SSL certificates. They only offer shared SSL certs. Considering I Was setting up a small ecommerce shop, I didn't want my customers to have to go through https://mysite.fatcow.com in order to make purchases securely!
Nevertheless, they kindly refunded my money when I realized it would not work out. I was always able to reach someone in Sales, Billing or Tech Support within seconds using their Chat support. The offered pricing was very competitive, $4-$6/month, depending upon if you clicked on a coupon or not. So as a simple, inexpensive host, I think they could work for many people's needs. But I wouldn't recommend them for ecommerce. |

I have been on FatCow for about two weeks, having moved my sites from GoDaddy. This is the first true hosting account I have used, so my review is from a "newbe" perspective. Customer support is always there, I wait from 0 to 2 minutes on their "live chat" before someone answers. Most of their techs seem competent, but I am no power user. I found it very easy to migrate my five domains to FatCow-- you just create a sub-folder in your account and, use their domain pointer tool to point to it and tell your registrar (GoDaddy in my case) that the DNS is handled by FatCow. It is *really* nice to administer everything under one account, which I cannot do under GoDaddy. I can create FTP accounts restricted to the sub-folders allowing others access to just the places I want. PHP was easy to enable using only the online help. The SPAM filters are very effective and can be tailored to each email address, domain or all hosted domains.
I am a little nervous that there were no other reviews, but I have had no problems at all to date. |

We have used FatCow for six years with very good experience. Last year, they added Outlook Exchange to their offering. This has been a nightmare with at least one lost day every month. So if you need anything besides basic hosting, stay away. |
