Don't be fooled by the flashy site and amazing prices. I bought their hosting through a friend who had her hosting with them, and even I had problems. Getting my password after I had had problems with it took days, and scripts never worked. My FTP wouldn't connect, and I couldn't make accounts for my hosts. I don't recommend this service at all.
I would not recommend this host to anyone. For the first year, everything went okay. There were a few downtimes, but only due to server moves and all that related. However, there were bigger problems such as MySQL databases disappearing and never returning.
Finally, the place disappeared for good without giving us, their customers, an idea on what was happening.
They are not very good, especially with their uptime and all that stuff.
When I first started with them three years ago it was great. Awesome pricing, good tech support and no downtime. Now my email, website or both are down more than once a month.
They are constantly getting hacked. Even my website was hacked, which uploaded files that crashed their servers (or so they explained) then they charged ME a fee for their downtime as if I did it myself.
Also instead of using an alternate email to contact me to tell me to pay this ridiculous bill they used my email hosted with their comapany and then suspended my account. How exactly do they think I was going to get the email? Ridiculous! And they haven't or won't look into actually did the damage. I guess it shouldn't matter since they got their money, right?!
Just remember beware of FM, it looks good on the outside, but on the inside it really can be horrible.
Frozen Midnight's hosting is the best around! I've been with them for a while, and haven't ever had a problem! Extreemely fast ticket replies, live chat, phone support, quality hosting, what more could you ask for!
I highly suggest Frozen Midnight to anyone looking for a great host!
I have two domains hosted at Frozen Midnight Hosting and I had them for more than a year already.I think they're the best host I've ever had. Whenever there's a downtime they will immediately email the customers about it. Support is fast and the staffs are friendly. Although once in a while there will be a problem about databases, they fix it within 24 hours. They offer cheap plans too. I highly recommend them.
Do not let the 5/5 ratings above trick you into purchasing ANY of Frozen Midnight hosting. Hosting was great in the beginning, there were little to No downtimes, help tickets were responded in 1-2 days maximum, etc. Look at their website, www.frozenmidnighthosting.com, it saids 99.9% uptime, what liars, 99.9% DOWNTIME is what they wanted to say. I guess my website is part of that .01% that is always down. After four months of their hosting, they have these so-called "SERVER-PROBLEMS" 24/7. I have no idea what is up with them. I submit 5 tickets or more to the help desk and once they dared to answer me back in 14 days. It's so frustrating and disappointing when you go to your website and you realize it's not loading. Perhaps, it's because I purchased a one-time hosting plan, that's why they don't give a damn. I don't know what is going on with this company but some websites like nexgen.au ?? something like that, with a featured testimonial on their website has not experience down-time like my website, maybe it's because of the testimonial they wrote or they purchase some other plan that's not one-time. Also, the founder of Frozen Midnight hosting has been ignoring my e-mail about my downtime of the website. I beg of you NOT to host with this company. Don't even waste $2 here.
Their hosting is terrible I would not recommend that anyone use their hosting at all.
They do give you a lot for a cheap price, if your getting crap for what your paying for, whats the point?
Servers are highly unreliable, always getting hacked, speeds are slow and above all the customer service is TERRIBLE. But I guess what can you expect from a one man show (Jamie)?
Don't bother with FHM, you will probably wish you never had a website than host it with FHM.
Prices are cheap, support is good, but the reliability is awful. Twice in a week I experience MySQL errors, 'disk space full' errors, and half of the time I'm never able to access my domain. In a single year they were hacked, suffered power outages, and I got countless notices that the 'servers will be down due to maintanence' or moving my site to a new 'better, more reliable' server which all resulted in downtime. There was no change.
The reliability is terrible, and what's the point of having great support and great prices when your site isn't even accessible to begin with?
Wow...really crappy webhost! They're servers are usually down, they're always getting hacked and the customer service is just ok.
They register domain names thru eNom, but eNom steals names so maybe FM shouldn't deal with them. (I had a name stolen and FM claims it was eNom's fault.)
FM has great prices, but what's the point if 50% of the time their servers are down?
The host is DOWN more than it is up. The server speeds are EXTREMELY slow. The customer service is very slow and at times very rude.
I would not recommend this host no matter how cheap the service is. You will pay for a domain and never see it. I personally use mine for work related tasks and have had it hurt my career due to the constant down time.
I've been hosted with Frozen Midnight for 8 months now and there service has been great.
I'm so glad I picked them as a host, because all my websites load extremely fast, and the features of the host are amazing! You get free chatrooms, message boards, image galleries, and more! Plus they have a guide for troubleshooting that can help you in solving some problems.
If that doesnt help you can always contact them on AIM or through a ticket. But, I really dont think you'll need any help because everything works extremely good, and setting up your site with Frozen Midnight is very easy! you can host multiple sites on just one package!
Frozenmidnight is the only host you'll need to get your site the way you want it!
All in all these guys are great. I signed up for a one time plan sometime last year not really expecting it to work out. Having been through the amount of hosts I have in the past, I didn't really expect them to last.
Having been with them a year I can't think of a complaint and I've moved up to owning a reseller account with about 21gb of space. They respond to tickets within 5hours, but it's usually within one. They even have guys on MSN most of the time to talk to if you have a problem.
I purchased an account at Frozen Midnight Hosting. So far, they have done nothing but impress me with their services and plans.
The first thing that attracted me to them was their price. I was just beginning to start my site and I wanted something cheap, reliable, and had the features that I needed. It took me a while to find their site. Once I found it though, I bookmarked it and observed them for a while. The staff was always polite and helpful on the support forums. So I decided to purchase one of their One-Time Payment plans. To date, it is still the cheapest host that I have found.
After I signed up, I was immediately satisfied. Whenever I had a problem (just twice and they were very minor), I would open a support ticket. Each time, their staff helped out quickly and solved the problem. They were always polite and professional. Support is no problem.
Reliability has not been a problem. The only downtime I've experienced was either related to my site (and was my fault) or they were moving us to a new, better server. The short downtime did not hurt me at all.
I would highly recommend FMH to anybody looking for an inexpensive host. I was a first time customer to the web hosting business, and I hope to remain with FMH as long as my site is up.
Hello, I am writing to let you all know how amazing Frozen Midnight Hosting is!I've always wanted to have a domain of my own, but I could not find the right price or the right host. A lot of them I had checked out, did'nt include things like my sql databases, and the amazing feature of fantastico. Fantastico allows you to create your own image gallery, your own blog, and tons of other things! Of course, its extremely EASY to install! Plus,if you have any trouble at all with installing. You can always open up a support ticket or even contact them on AIM! So you get a reply very quickly!
Frozen Midnight is the only host for me, and I currently am proud to say that I host a total of 5 sites on Frozen midnight!
I would just like to say how much I like Frozen Midnight Hosting. I have a reseller account and several other packages, including an email-only package, and bought domains from them. I have experience with other hosting companies and I can honestly say that Frozen Midnight is the best of them. Their very reasonable prices and packages aside, the mark of a good hosting company is the quality of their support team. I have had to ask for help from them several times and in evey case they are polite, courteous, helpful and friendly. I sometimes wonder if they actually sleep at night! The founder and CEO, Jaime Timbre is approachable and always willing to help. She is active in the forum, which is a bonus, as I have known hosting companies that ignore their forums completely. I would reccomend this host to anyone, and I have done!
Site very slow
scripts often don't work when you get to the page for the fist time (you often have to reload to get the script working)
webmail is the slowest possible. Horde (offered and maintained by host) most often needs one or two reloads to work
They have been hacked in twice in 05.. first time all data lost for everyone, second time 2 days outage. No refund whatsoever
I have a script pinging my site every 5 minutes (so it leaves lots of unverified uptime), and I get a little more than one outage everyday
In summary, I AM MORE AND MORE DISAPOINTED EVERYDAY WITH THE QUALITY OF SERVICE. will change soon, as soon as I get a decent offer on a 20g webspace.
I had my domain hosted with frozen midnight thinking that I'd found a great host, little
did I know that they would cheat me. One day I found my domain hacked and suddenly it
was being used by another person. I told them about this and the support was horrible. I had
to write to frozen midnight 3 times before they could retreieve my information. I told them that
I wanted a refund after they couldn't help me because they claim I was not the person who bought
the hosting account. I paid with my OWN money and they gave my account to someone else without
warning! I just left the account alone. Don't fall for the great prices, I've heard nothing but
bad experiences from friends who have been hosted here.
The crappiest hosting I've ever used in my life. Yeah sure, their plans are great and they have one-time payment plans but the reliability is just terrible! I bought hosting and in 3 months, they've been hacked twice. They always have some sort of problems. I left my hosting account to rot.
