I was with GWDHosting for almost 10 years under the old owners. They were the best. When they sold to the current owner everything fell apart. All of my sites went down for hours on a daily basis and nobody ever responded to emails. There is no phone support. There were so many complaints on the testimonials page that the owner took the testimonials page down. Check it out. He left the link on the site but took the page away. I moved all of my sites elsewhere. I recommend anyone else still on that sinking ship do the same.
A new owner took over in 2006. Up until then no problems. But since then the downtime has been terrible. At the moment they are down and have been for around 5 days in the last 10. Support tickets and emails never get replied to. I used to have around 5 sites with them but have taken them all away. Down time is bad enough but not getting any response at all to emails or support tickets is attrocious. I even tried to renew an account in the early days but couldnt contact them so they deleted the account. The new owner just does not seem to care - it is such a shame as the company used to be first class, now it is just operating in a shambles. All the facts I have given can be proved. I just wanted to warn people it is not the same company as it was prior to 2006 ....trying to cancel a hosting account from automatic renewal is also a nightmare as they never respond to confirm they wont be seeking to charge your CC any more..
My site has had a "scheduled maintenance" notice instead of any content for several days now. The gwdhosting.com site is also missing. There is no way to contact this company. I'll be moving to a different provider once I can get a backup of my data.
This used to be an outstanding host. It was sold months ago and has gone steadly downhill since then. There have been more downtime since it was sold than in the entire years before. I am switching hosts and would not advise anybody I knew to use them as a site without really investigating their current status. Currently I have been down over a day.
very helpful. Helped me set up site and get name servers changed. Talked me through uploading site. Cheap prices but quality of service etc worth much more. Highly recommended
I live in the UK - the host is in USA - so is a 6 hour time difference. When there have been problems - (FrontPage related) I have contacted their technical support - which has been early hours for them, and have always had a response within half an hour and they have really put themselves out to help. Not only do they know all about their servers etc they are also experts on FrontPage. Their pricing is cheap, and they offer a lot in each package, but their service etc is first class, I have not been able to fault them in all the time I have hosted with them. I have currently 5 sites with them. They give lots of free things as well such as a webtools program full of useful scripts. Great company.
