Global used to be great VPS host 7 years ago. Since then in past year or so they have migrated their support to India. Probs: You can't understand foreign tongues especially over the poor phone lines; everything has to be escalated including rebooting your site. They don't get back for days and days and the problem still isn't resolved. With only a few hundred site visitors you run out of resources even with their higher plans. If you want a personal page maybe they are ok, if you want to run a serious site forget about it. They are owned by UnitedOnline who also owns netzero and classmates. |

Pretty good hosting, nice control panel when it worked. Had quite a number of issues with billing when we started up, had connectivity issues quite often and quite an unacceptable amount of downtime. Tickets could take a number of days to be answered, phone support wasn't too bad when we had to call from AU to get major issues sorted out. Reliability did become better towards the end of our dealings, however we now co-lo our own server onshore in AU and the difference is amazing. Wouldn't go out praising these guys, but if their service is as good as it was at the end, or better, it may be worth a shot. |

My account was with Entity Hosting.com, who had dismal service. When it was purchased by globat I got excited thinking that all would be well. NO Such Luck. Still cannot get response after two weeks on tickets, site is down, email is down. Can't access control panel. Can't call 1-800 from Canada. Live chat says all entity support requests must be done through support tickets. Not for me. I am off to another host. |

Well all in all these guys are pretty good. They have great prices that are hard to beat for a managed server. Their uptime is decent however I find that the FTP can lag sometimes but when it is working it is fast. I think the best thing about this host is their high quality customer service. If something goes wrong and you put a ticket in, you can almost always expect for your problem to be fixed within a few hours. We were having trouble with the mail server and it can go down from time to time but they were pretty quick in getting it back up. I would reccomed them overall. |
