I just discovered they put popups on my webpage. I can't begin to vocalize how angry that makes me. The email spam blocking is virtually nonexistent, even once you figure out how to set it up stuff still gets through, despite all the "help" from the staff. Some help responses have been very good, others it seems they wouldn't be able to instruct you with which end of a pencil to write with. Downtime has been very significant, and access to my email via the web has been downright abhorrent at best.
Cons - If you register a domain name THEY own it (read the fine print with them) and they don't transfer Domain names so you're stuck.
99% of the time customer support will blame the problem on you.
I have received bad information from ever tech there including their admins Tyler and Eric.
Do a quick google search and you too will see how bad they really are...on a positive note: their free service is rated fairly high..well once you get around all the porn and bots
For me, this is one of my best experiance with a webhost. My website was 99.9% Up. I only had a 2 problems of the same one, it was just a DNS error for my domain name. It was quickly fixed in under an hour. When I contacted support about it, it was quick. I got their Standard Starter package, for $50 a year. I would reommend this host to anyone.
Hostultra to me has been a huge let down, my domains are often so slow that the browser times out or I get "Cannot find server or DNS Error". When I contact support and explain that my brother using another ISP on the other side of the country cannot access my domains I get the reply "we can access you domains and there is nothing wrong". I only stay with them because they are so cheap however I am starting to think that I might as well go with someone else because I just get laughed at by users of my domains because of my down time. Hostultra is a massive flop, don't go there people.
I've been a paying customer at Host Ultra for just about a year now. I've had a few problems which I contacted support for and had resolved in a timely manner. None of my problems were urgent but they were all resolved within a day or so.
I've noticed that my site has a tendency to slow down every now and then, but not an extreme amount. Their prices are cheap, so I assume they are just a little bit overloaded.
Overall, I'm happy with Host Ultra. Not a fantastic host, but certainly gets the job done for what I need. I would reccommend it to anyone with smaller sites, just needing a basic way to get your site on the net.
After I keep using Hostultra, it has been one of my best FREE sites so far. Its mostly up 24/7, and its fast and easy. The only thing is, the url is really long, but you can do that with a redirection thing. Also, when you type in a wrong page, it automatically goes to some weird page and has all this spam.. But.. you can easily Alt + F4.
other than that, yes, it is easy, effecient, for noobies, there is a pre-editor, but you can also upload through an FTP.
