It took several weeks to get my site and domain online and when I sent an email wanting to cancel it came back as \"undeliverable\" and now their contact page is unavailable. Not a good sign and definately would not recommend them.
i am actually surprised at some of the reviews on here.. i have been with isphost for about 3 years now and i have 4 websites hosted with them and i have never had too many problems.. They have always answered the phones when i have called and downtime usually isnt' for very long.. granted my site is down right now and has been down since yesterday and am hoping they fix it in a timely matter.. But James has always been helpful when i have emailed and or called.. I do not recommend allowing them to buy your domain name for you because i lost mine that way.. They purchased my domain name for free when i first sighned up with them but when it was time to renew the domain they didn't pay it, they claimed that they couldn't get access to the account that they purchased the domain name with, so i ended losing my domain name because i also could not access it to pay it because i didn't have the account information that James purchased it with. My domain name ended up getting picked up by one those companys that buys and sells domains so i couldn't get my domain name back because they now wanted 400 some dollars to purchase it back which i am not going to pay.. That is my worst complaint about isphost, Overall they have been a good webhost...
Well, I rated ISPHOST as a 1 out of 5 because there was no option for a ZERO! This is the WORST HOSTING available. If the service was free, I wouldn't recommend it. The problem is with James Beckwith the owner. He has no idea what he is doing, has bit off more than he can chew, and because of this, you the user suffers!
He consistently upgrades without any notification causing serious compatibility problems and downtime. He'll report your site as up, even though apache service or mail service may be down. So his uptime stats are not to be beleived!
His record keeping is atrocious! He has turned off sites for no reason, thinking your hosting period is up when its not. And he very clearly states that he keeps NO BACKUPS of anything. So when James screws up YOU PAY!
No Refund will ever be given either. This is one hosing company that you should tell your friends to run from. And if your currently hosting here, I'm sure you're already in the process of looking elsewhere.
Oh yes, and did I mention, THERE IS NO SUPPORT!!! No one ever answers the phone, no one calls back, and the support tickets are useless.
Completed successfully order to purchase Gold Plan. Absolutely no response isphost.org! NOT good when they boast 24/7 support and online account and domain name in 5 minutes after completing order
I have hosted about 10 sites with James at ISPhost for years. In the beginning, the service was great. The pricing has always been great. Lately, the service, and definitely the reliability has been awful!!! I had to move wizardtransmission.com to another host after 6-9 months of being offline EVERY SINGLE MONTH. Just recently I moved insidehighlandsranch.com to another host after 5 DAYS OF DOWNTIME WITH NO RESOLUTION!!!
James claims 99% uptime. Which may or may not be true. But 99% uptime is TERRIBLE! And the topic of uptime is debatable. Sure, his servers stay up 99% of the time. (That's about 8 hours of downtime per month!) I'll bet on that. But his services ARE WAY LESS THAN THAT!
Even though his server may be up and running, mail, cron, php, spamassassin , mysql, or another service may be offline. CPU may be at 20% and your disk space may be full! In either or any of the above scenarios, you're site will be down.
If your cheap, don't require reliability, don't use PHP or mySQL, I would highly recommend isphost.org.
ISPHost is an excellent site to host with. Their admins are very patient even when you make the same mistake 5 times. They are easy to reach and have been extremely helpful from Day 1. This is an awesome value for the money. My uptime has been close to 99% and if they do go down, they get it back up as quickly as possible.
Just signed up with these guys. LOTS of bandwidth, lots of space, and 10 sites, all for $7... Seems to work pretty past, im on a 2 mbp/s connection (max ~250 kilobytes download) and I'm downloading off my site at 180+ Also, after i signed up, it took them 8 (eight) minutes to set up my account.. eight minutes..
This company has been good to me for a while now. Bought me a free domain name and always answers my questions quickly. With toll free support and excellent uptime I have no complaints. Glad to leave a recommendation for this good host
I just started my site up. I was looking for a cheap web hosting company, and i came across isphost.org. I went on google and look around for any reviews. The site itself had a google pagerank of 4 or 5, but not many reviews. So i sign up with them.
It took 1 week to get my site online after sign up. It took 3 weeks to get my domain name to resolve to their server. They offer unlimited subdomains, but when you actually add one, it dont' work. You have to e-mail them on which ones you want to work.
My site crashed over 10 times a month...up 24 hours. Customer service is a whack job. today is the 9th of november and I just went to my site and it's still down, since 4 pm. It's 10pm right now. It was down 2 days ago as well.
The prize is amazing for up to 200 gigs of bandwidth and 2 gigs of space. But the downtime with a 99.9% uptime guareetee is a lie. I think my site just got deleted from them account. I wasted 84 bucks and want my money back, and i'm pretty sure i'm not gonna get it back either. My account keeps getting suspended for no reason.
Also, when my site was down one time, it redirected to their website. Not very relaible at all. I been with them for 2 months now. I was giving them a chance, but it's just not working out anymore...I'm losing too much money every time my site is down. I even added a thingy on the bottom of everyone of my pages...proudly hosted by isphost.org to suppor their site, but they didn't do my justice.
