Had the worst experience. Multiple outages. In one case there was a distributed denial of service attack against the DNS and all my domains went out for 2 days. I had to manually swing them to another DNS (not that JumpDomain would do that).
Finally I tried to move my domains off of JumpDomain. Hah. That requires authentication codes which I didn't receive even after 10 postings to the support forum. After searching the Web someone mentioned the personal phone number of the company owner (supposedly a lawyer). Searching even further it turns out that JumpDomain is just a reseller of Enom.com. Very reasonable people at Enom. I sent them an email with all the domains and they released them for me. Took about a week. Would I ever use JumpDomain again? NEVER EVER. This is not a business, it is a company which holds your brand hostage.
The worst copany on the face of the earth. I have tried to move my 20 domain names from this company for over 3 months. They refuse to send needed codes. They refuse to answer email or support tickets. I have paid to have a domain name renewed, they took the money and didn't renew the name, now the site is down and my client is suing me for lost income.
I'm held hostage. I offered to pay $200 to have any respond to a support ticket, didn't help. Tucows says if you have a problem with your domain contact your registrar. Why don't they try getting hold of this piece of s*** company. Phone number disconected, refuse to answer email or support tickets. Control panel says 2 of my 20 domain names are expired, I have sent them receipts showing payment, they don't care.
I'm absolutely screwed now, they have actually ruined my business. I have 20 customers trying to collect money from me because they can't get there domains transferred.
I'm gonna have to shut the doors, and this joker is probabaly laughing about it.
JumpDomain.com initially provided a good value for domain registrations, but then things went down hill after that. I believe they used TuCows as the initial wholesaler, then swithched to eNom. Domains that were registerd in the last 5 years have been registered between the two resellers. This is where the problem has started I presume. Their WHOIS SPAM SERVICE seems to be broken, you're unable to Unlock your domains, and their "global edit" doesn't work.
NOTICE TO ALL: I would stay away from this company as far as I could, since the service has totally gone DOWNHILL. Don't expect any service if you have to move your domain, since you will have to contact the above wholesalers to GO AROUND JUMP DOMAIN TO MOVE YOUR DOMAIN TO A NEW RIGISTRAR. Try using one of the eNom.com resellers, since they have a fantastic back end support and server technology.
Just adding my voice to the rest! Jump-domain should be called Chump-domain. No support, and boneheads who answer trouble tickets with double-talk and ambiguities. My site has been down for 2 months because their DNS is hosed. Trouble tickets are a waste of time. Now trying to get transferred away to Ipower (good reviews), and Jump-domain is doing everything to delay the transfer that they possibly can. Beware! Find another registrar who is competent!!!
Great prices, good reliability, absolutely no customer service!
These guys are so bad I couldn't even find a way to pay them! Which is, I have to admit, a new low in 'customer service.'
There was a problem with my credit card and when I went to get on to change it, I found I had forgotten my account password. When you click on their password finder it tells you to enter your user ID, which is on your invoice. One little problem. I have never gotten a paper invoice from them so I don't have my ID number.
Email explaining the situtation and requesting help produced a response to -- you guessed -- use the password finder
AAARRRGGGHHHH!
As much as I hate their crappy customer service, I keep coming back to JumpDomain.com for registration & hosting because they are CHEAP and reliable. I have had my personal site on them for 6 years, and as webmaster of Earthjustice.org have used them to host probably 10 campaign sites for the last 3 years. Registration is $10, free renewals if you also host with them. Hosting works out to about $8/month depending on the program you use. Free redirects, etc. for all registered domains. The crappy customer service doesn't tend to matter because they are so reliable. Run by some guy named Scott - his name is on all correspondence, at least.
