All I can say is avoid Lunarpages at all cost. I have multiple sites with various hosts and I can honestly say Lunarpages are the worst web hosts I've ever encountered.
I signed up as a result of their high rating here but Lunarpages flat out lies about what is included in their packages.
I signed up for their small business plan which states on their "plan key features" page:
1) FREE SETUP!
2) Dedicated IP - 1 included on request.
When I signed up I was charges a $30 setup fee and when I requested my IP address I had to pay for that too!!!
Once I started working on the server is was slooooowwww. When they finally installed my dedicated IP (which required a server change) they didn't move anything that I had worked on along with it. On top of that when I went to log in I was denied, no FTP nothing. Apparently all of the login info had changed too and no one sent me any new login info or anything.
When I filed a support ticket it took 11 hours to get a useless response with no information about what is going on or how to get in to the server. Fortunately after waiting 8 hours I just signed up with another host and was up and running by the time they responded to that ticket.
When I canceled I was told my setup fee (which was advertised as free) was non refundable and they didn't refund what I paid for the dedicated IP (which was "included") either.
Please save yourselves the headache and don't host with Lunarpages.
I was looking for a good hosting website and was previously with hostway, godaddy and other big site. After a while I decide to cut down the cost for the server, and i wanted unlimited bandwidth, diskspace (back when I signed up this wasn't unlimited, but still big enough for me to call it unlimited)
I do not have any problem with them, didn't see any downtime with my site. Their server speed is relatively fast (guess I have a fast connection?! <FiOS>).
I currently have joomla with my site and they do notify me when there's an security problem with joomla and warn me for the upgrade, which is nice.
Although this is a personal site and intended for family and friends, I do not have a lot of traffic. However I do enjoy the unlimited space since I have lots of stuff to backup, so I can just create a private folder and backup my software / photos there.
Google around for cash back or rebate. I can't remember which site I signed up with, the person end up refunded me 70% to cover the cost, so I only spend like 20 for the first year. =)
As many people out there I started looking for a good ffmpeg hosting service. Although Im sure there are hundreds, not to many of them show up on google search results and those that do have some bad reviews.I found my way to this site webhostingjury and sorted by reviews. I noticed lunar was at the top. So I clicked on lunar and found you guys...Yes you reading this article. I searched and searched looking for only bad reviews. LOL
Instead of looking for good reviews I was doing the complete opposite.

I figured I'll give them a call. What are the chances they offer ffmpeg, Would be too good to be true. And what do you know. They do offer ffmpeg for streaming videos !
( They should advertise they have ffmpeg preinstalled )
I decided to join up. And so far its been great with them. Customer service is the best. Way better than my previous hosting ( godaddy, apthost ).
I hope that although the price goes down, their customer service wont.
I dont mind paying an extra dollar for fast responses.
I've been using Lunarpages for over 5 years. I've only had minor issues with them. Although they are a tad bit more expensive for their VPS and Dedicated servers, they are sure worth it. I recommend them to anyone.
After a horror year with net4.in I transferred to Lunarpages, since i have been with Lunarpages I have had absolutely no problem and getting everything up was easy. Their support was also very helpful in the few issues I had. When you're calling from overseas it's highly appreciated when they pick up their phone quickly. I reccommend Lunarpages.
I have been with LunarPages over 4 years now. Since I first joined up, they have progressively added features, bandwidth, disk space and features to my basic package, for no extra cost. The Support is very fast and efficient, and usually resolves any problem or issue within hours (at most 24). They have seamless support even for resellers on s shared IP. No complaints so far, and I recommend LunarPages to anyone who wants to host multiple domain names on the same server for a nominal cost. They do have dedicated IP, dedicated server and premium services if you are a big corporate. Beware of people who offer unlimited bandwidth and unlimited diskspace - it is better to see a specified amount rather than say it is unlimited, because this is physically impossible. Lunarpages has a WYSIWYG policy which is quite refreshing.
I have been very pleased with the reliability and speed of lunarpages.com. Support helped me to upgrade easily to SSH access when I needed it which required putting me on a new server, but the transfer went smoothly. There $1.50/month backup service is a great deal. I run Oscommerce sites and the speed on lunarpages is ideal.
LOVE them. Wonderful support. My web site has only once had problems, about 7 hours, but when I contacted them they said they were already working on it. Indeed, it was fixed within an hour. Have two websites and couldn't be happier.

since we have had a good experience with our other site "fpcpc.org" which we
manage for our church. "we-dance.info" will be for our own use. We have
found lunarpages to be reliable, easy to use and a great bargain.
We are a small web design company that hosts all of our customers with Lunarpages. We've done so ever since we found them, 6 years ago.
They've been a blessing. Billing is automatic, and always correct. (Thank God, our clients kept forgetting to pay the yearly bill. You wouldn't believe how many people let their sites dissapear because they're not capable of paying a bill on time...)
Pricing is more than fair - I really can't figure out how they manage to maintain such quality at those prices. They also keep introducing new plans that offer more for less money. Honestly, it makes me a bit worried that their quality of service will decline over time because of them "giving the store away". However that did not happen yet.
In fact, their ease of use and quality of customer support is one of the major reasons we host with them - I was blown away by the speed, niceness and competency for the first year, then I happily got used to expect the best :-).
As a web design company, it's important for us that the hosting company updates their software and hardware on time, and has no weird configurations that make it hard for us to launch new web sites and web site scripts. Lunarpages have been great in this. They upgrade Mysql, PHP and other features timely, and even have a feature where you can opt-out of PHP5 if your web site script cannot work with it. (Love their Control Panel! It can do everything but make you coffee, and is simple enough for a non-technical user to use, with just a little help.)
We had a couple of security breaches, caused by some of the scripts used, on 2 of the web sites. Lunarpages response was fantastic - compromised sites were "turned off" immediately, and an email was sent to us with a notice, explanation, and a request to upgrade the offending script to a new, safer version. They did much of our work for us, by locating the source of trouble and not letting it spread. As soon as we fixed the problem, the sites were reinstated. I'm happy to know that their security measures are very good.
They are also very patient and helpful with out-of-ordinary requests. Two months ago, one of our customers has cancelled her account by mistake (she didn't recognize the charges on her credit card and actually called them to cancel any services... this is what I have to deal with....). She had an online store, and the entire site was gone - a year of development! The account was already erased from their system, but the customer support helped us locate the backup, and we had everything straightened out in 48 hours. (Word to the wise - *always* get their backup feature, it's only 1.50/month, and a lifesaver if you actually need to use it.
About 6 months ago, they went through a preiod where some of the web sites were off line occasionaly, I can't tell for how long, but an hour or so, I think. Don't know what that was about, but they're back to normal now, and I'm happy to give them a heartfelt recommendation.
I just renewed my Lunarpages account, that completes my 2 years. Previously I was with ipowerweb (now known as iPower) and they were HORRIBLE. Take a look at my ipower review on the ipower page. But they were disgusting.
However, Lunarpages has been absolutely great. In the 2 years I only remember one instance of downtime which was for about 3 hours. Their support is also extremely friendly and responsive.
All in all if you want a reliable and affordable host, Lunarpages is the way to go.
Lunar Pages has been a great webhost for me. I've had no site downtime other than my taking the site down to re-build or revamp, but that's of my doing. Most of my problems are answered very quickly. I remember before I got LunarPages, I was asking a support question and I got a response from sales in less than 6 minutes. It made me feel great knowing I could have fast service from a reliable host. I've never had one problem with LunarPages, just me and my lack of html. lolz... I recently thought about canceling to a cheaper host, but then seen the services they offer were not as great as LunarPages was. So I decided to stick with LunarPages for it's superior services, webspace, and bandwidth. All in all, I have to give LunarPages a perfect 100% on my grading scale for their surpassed reliability, stability, performance, and excellent customer support.
I have used another host these past few years to host my personal web pages. I don't know too much about web site design and all the other technical stuuf but my former web hoster's support was never that good and often I would find myself eith going thru horrible telephone menu options to get help AND getting support was worse looking at that host's support pages.
I decided to dwitch hosts out of frustration. I have spent over a week looking at the competitive plans offred out there. I chose LunarPages based upon price and support. Many of the other comapnies I spoke with didn't seem to be interested inanswering questions over the phone.
The staff at LunarPages was quite helpful PRIOR to me choosing them. Additionally I find that the LunarPages SUPPORT & Knowledge database is fantastic. I have learned much more from this company within the past week from their SUPPORT AND KNOWLEDGE databases/forums than what my previos host was able to offer. I also enjoy more disk space and bandwith than I had with my previous host for less!
I just wanted to post these comments as a newbie because I felt that in this day and age of hearing all the bad things that the good stuff provided to people needs to be voiced.
I was really suprised that no one at LunarPages pressured me into signing up - these people encouraged me to look around and shop BUT they always took the time (on the phone and in emails) to give me answers or guide me to resources. I didn't get that from others and my decision to go with LunarPages was based on excellent customer support and an affordable hosting plan. I'll never use all that space and bandwith but the fact that I have it for the price is still great!
The CoffeeCup software package they give to you is also fantastic. I tried the trial versions of that along with several others and found it to exceed what I was use to using ( "something" SiteBuilder). I am now using CoffeeCup software and found their support to be fine as well!
These guys are just plain ole awesome! Their customer support is beyond excellent. They know what they are doing. And the price: 300GB of space and 3,000GB of transfer for around $7, that is insanely cheap with the support it comes with. I would recommend these guys to ne one, either starting out webhosting or for more experienced webmasters.
It is very difficult for me to find words to express my feelings about the excellent support (very friendly and competent) from LunarPages, after horrible experience with my previous hosting company. Before signing-in for Basic Hosting account at LunarPages, I was wondering how a company can survive by offering so great features with huge web space of 350GB. I think other companies maybe offering a comparable size of web space, but their clients may lack the great support and peace of mind from the support department. If it is possible, I intend to rate the excellent LunarPages support with infinite grades.
The technical support team in Lunarpages are SUPER. I have dedicated server hosting with them and their technical support team are always willing to help. Never push our problem to each others among themselve like ipower does. Their forum is also great, question post, always a reply with a short period of them. Never let their customers hanging. Never have down time, price is reasonable. Management people are also friendly, really can't ask for more. I am glad that we found Lunarpages.

Best bang for the buck web host I've ever been with. Good customer service, great plans for just about anyone, plenty of space and bandwidth...and honest people running the entire show. That last part counts more than one would realize.
Lunarpages never failed me, I’m 100% satisfied customer. When I ask for help I know that I’ll talk with real people who will think and act in order to understand and resolve the problem, not simply inform me that this is not possible or that is not allowed like some other providers do.
LunarPages may not be the cheapest host, but they have fantastic service. I've had no problems with up time. I've had only the smallest of minor glitches with the site and support has been extremely fast and responsive.
I've got several sites, many of them on smaller hosts. I've learned to really appreciate the service that LunarPages gives--you don't find that everywhere.
I have recently started hosting sites with lunarpages after becoming disillusioned with the hosting companies I have been using in the Uk for the last few years.
Like all service providers, a company's commitment to customers is only truly tested when one encounters problems, or at least needs answers to questions. I have been let down to various degrees by different hosts in the past, sometimes waiting weeks for a response to a request for support, sometimes never receiving a response, and sometimes receiving a response that didn't address the problem!
Having decided that I needed to find a new hosting company, I spent a whole day on the internet researching hosting companies, and was disappointed to find that so many webmasters were also having problems with numerous other hosts. I was beginning to think "Better the devil you know ..." and was almost resigned to sticking with what I already had.
Then I found reviews of lunarpages.com ...
Sure, I found a few complaints, but in almost every case the problem was addressed, often in public via the lunarpages forums. It occurred to me that a company willing to open themselves up for potential public criticism was a sign of confidence in their ability to answer their customers' questions.
I transferred one of my sites to lunarpages to try them out - to my surprise and delight it was a painless process and was handled very quickly. I then decided to host a new site with them, a site I intend to use for testing things out for clients before publishing properly - I purchased a domain name and hosting package on Saturday afternoon, and it was available by teatime! I was astonished!!!
The third site I host (so far) has a .uk.com domain. I was unsure how to go about handling this as it has a non-standard "extension", so I asked support what to do. A couple of quick emails later it was all done.
My questions, both pre- and post-sales, have been answered very quickly and efficiently, a level of support which I have never experienced before.
On top of this, the cost of hosting is relatively cheap (especially with the current exchange rates!), and even the basic hosting package comes with FrontPage Extensions - I typically have to pay £25 per year, approximatley 50 dollars, for this in the UK.
Then of course there's the free software - fantastic!
In summary - in addition to the great value of packages, my confidence that lunarpages will repond to my questions (no matter how dumb!) quickly means I will definitely be hosting more sites with them.

However, I have recently needed service and some technical advice from your company. I must say, Erin Parker (of your customer service dept.) has offered more than supportive assistance, he has proven to offer the only voice that picks up the line EACH time I've called for support within my last 6-7 calls (CALLS PLACED ON DIFFERENT OCCASIONS - WITHIN VARIOUS DAYS & WEEKS)! I GENUINELY THINK SOMEONE SHOULD TAKE NOTICE OF THIS SORT OF DEDICATION. Further, as I recently contacted your office to acquire info on where I could send an exhorting note such as this, guess who happened to answer my call . . . Erin! The catch is - I don't even know his extension; let it be said that I have NEVER felt compelled or driven to write these types of letters of commendation ever. Yet, in this case, it would be an injustice if I hadn't.

Lunarpages is a great host. Been there for a while and always tries to solve problems we might have as soon as possible, even if it is something we messed up. The only minor problem I have ever had was gallery2 that used too much cpu but other than that, I have no complains for the past 4 years. I once had to move one of my friends accounts and money back gurantee was 100%, no dime taken. Excellent experience!

LunarPages and it's Customer Service Department is 2nd to none and I know, I was with two others prior to trying LunarPages out. When I had to part comppany with a former partner and start a new website, it was LunarPages CS folks who helped me to transfer my Domain, and set me up with a free renewal of the registration, a tutatorial on how to do different things with my new board (my partner had been the tech savvy guy) and have been awesome in everyway possible. I highly recommend this hosting providerfor he above reasons!
Currently, I have 3 websites hosted with Lunarpages. Email and site uptime is excellent. Although my sites are on shared servers, the site response time is great. The available features at Lunarpages are consistently being upgraded. Lunarpages has a support forum that is very active and almost always leads you to the right answer for any question you may that is beyond the scope of support. Lunarpages support is only a phone call or email away. They are responsive and generally get the problem fixed very quickly. I highly recommend Lunarpages for those looking for a reliable host with great support.
I find that most people, myself included, are quick to contact support when there is a problem, but rarely find time to send a note of thanks when things are going well. Usually I would say that this is due to most companies performing adequately and not really impressing much. In the case of Lunarpages service, I think it would be an injustice not to note what a tremendous job they do in taking care of customers.
I started building web pages as a hobby nearly 10 years ago and found Tripod as a free service that worked fine for me as a novice web designer. A couple years later, I was designing sites for my mothers dog kennel and soon after for a few of her then jealous friends (we like to call them all, the "dog women"). Eventually she needed more space and wanted her own domain name, so we upgraded to their "pro" service that cost us about $24 a year more for less than 10% of the disk space we get with lunarpages, few advanced features comparatively, faulty user interfaces, poor billing procedures that had our site down often, and minimally adequate yet slow customer service.
I have been on Lunarpages for just over a month and I can't begin to express my joy with the difference in the service. The value of the "basic" plan has been unreal in comparison: 1GB disk space, unlimited subdomains and a free add on domain, MySQL and PHP, even the Viper Guestbook is cool! So much that I haven't gotten in to yet, but look forward to. So many new things I've learned already just having so many features available here. Adding in the free Coffee Cup software is HUGE. What a tremendous resource of software for us "novice" web builders. Was beating my head against my monitor for 2 weeks trying to get an rss feed running right prior to 5 mins work on the Coffee Cup RSS News Flash creator. The time I've saved with the Coffee Cup Pix converter is astonishing... I could go on for ever on my new found love of Coffee Cup!
The customer service is the icing on the cake that makes this company one that I will gladly pass on to others, maybe even forcibly if I have to! The responses are quick, even when I tagged one as "low priority" I had a response the next morning. Even when there was nothing they could really do to help me while I was impatiently anxious to get the transfer of domain off of Tripod, they responded kindly and supportively.
I cannot begin to convey how thrilled I am to be there and my only regret is that I didn't find them sooner!
I do freelance web design and typically pick a host based on the clients budget and individual needs. However, Lunarpages has consistently stood above the crowd. Their phone and internet are truly unparalleled.
Most recently I had requested helpful information on how to upgrade my server from PHP 4 to PHP 5. They responded quickly and handled everything for me with no down time and no hesitation. What surprised me was there willingness to help me further. They are very well-mannered and helpful… no support calls to India with these guys.
For $6.95/mo. Lunarpages is the best value for your dollar. You will inevitably call or email support and when you do, these guys are more than willing to help.
Excellent hosting company. I started with the shuttle packadge and I am now on a dedicated server I have been on every plan that is offered by Lunarpages and I upgraded when I was ready to. I currently have 5 sites all hosted on a variety of the different plans availible at lunarpages.
I have good things only to say about them the staff members there are all extreamly helpful and have always gone out of thier way to assist me when I have needed it. the claim of 99.99% uptime holds true. I run a vbb forum that is very server intensive with all our modifications and the service held up to the demand. I will continue to recomend Lunarpages hosting to all of my friends and business clientel
LunarPages is the best. We have used at least a dozen ISPs over the last 10 years. Rarely, do we stay with one for more than 1 year. All tend to over-promise and under-deliver.
Not so with LunarPages.
We have seen the addition of more and more servers to keep up with demand. They are always responsive, cost-effective, and we virtually never suffer any down time.
Time is money and even 99.99% may not be good enough.
You will not be disappointed. We give them out highest and unqualifed recommendation.
I have been with Lunar Pages for the last couple of years and everything has just been fine. For $ 7.95 you get now up to 5 GB of storage, 400 GB of monthly bandwidth, unlimited ftp accounts, free domain name... But most of all, they are reliable and they have a great tech support.
As someone who has been doing and maintaining websites for 5 years, Lunarpages is the only webhost that proves worthy of my loyalty. Their features have certainly gotten better and they now offer a lot more for the same price (visit their website and you'll see what I mean). They also have an excellent customer support and I've always received quick replies to my queries.
All in all, I am very satisfied with their service and I don't see myself changing webhosts in the future.
I have to say that Lunarpages offers the BEST customer service around! They are constantly upgrading and adding features that I didn't even know I wanted! Their control panel interface is fantastic and there is a ready made library of excellent scripts for just about anything.

As a novice to web hosting outside of the local server in my garage Lunarpages was chosen after about a week of research. The initial experience was painless and even enjoyable with their extensive flash tutorial library.
After a few months I became ambitious and started installing some things with Fantastico. Then I even started installing some stuff on my own. Well I made my whole site unavailable. Within about 24 hours they had remedied the problem without so much as one "Are you crazy ?"
I have found their support to be great.
And to make things sweeter they have added unlimited databases even to their basic accounts.
Cannot think of a thing they could add for their basic account.
LunarPages is the absolute best hosting company that I have ever had the pleasure of dealing with. I have to date, recommended and setup about five sites with LunarPages for my clients. And I actually switched one of those clients from another hosting company that was actually cheaper in price, Five Dollar Hosting, after my client complained of constant outages and very bad support. Since then I have never heard a complaint from them as far as their website and email are concerned.
I have used other hosting companies that do not upgrade their existing customers, they usually only give web space increases to new customers only, which is what sent me shopping for a new hosting company when I switch from ipowerweb to LunarPages. Since I have been with LunarPages, they have increase the amount of my space twice, increased MySQL databases from 1 to 3 and now to UNLIMITED MySql Databases. Anyone planning on using forums, guestbooks and e-commerce pages can understand the importance of unlimited MySql Databases.
Their support system is great. Their forums are always helpful. You can demo the Control Panel before ordering. They have a help section for everything from pre-sales, control panel and for beginners to help setup new websites and email.
They always send out notices whenever they will be upgrading to let you know what new services they will be providing. And they actually periodically upgrade the version of Control Panel, which is one of the most important features when looking for a hosting company. The Control Panel has tons of built-in scripts and templates for discussion boards, E-Commerce, guestbooks, image galleries and blogs.
I have been with LunarPages for almost three years now, and the best thing about their support is that if you email them with a question, they will usually answer it within an hour or so.
In my opinion, LunarPages is the Google of Web Hosting.
Any "drawbacks" I felt were present when I first signed up for hosting with Lunarpages (which I already felt was awesome) a few
years ago are now gone. Now, a few years later and over a dozen hosting packages later, I am at a loss to find a single drawback. Lunarpages is absolutely awesome ... especially with the addition of unlimited MySQL databases - not that I wasn't willing to pay

I made my decision and began the task of setting up my new LunarPages hosting service with the options that I needed. I also began transferring my current business website and two recreational websites over to the new service. Because I didn't plan it better, I made some mistakes that caused problems with my service. Frustrated, I began communicating with the LunarPages support staff via their support ticket email service. What I found was surprising.
Not only did the LunarPages staff offer fast response time, but they truly knew what they were doing and could assist me in solving my problems. The problems weren't easy, and my lack of experience in using a web hosting service didn't help things, but the LunarPages staff worked through it and within a short period of time they had everything running smoothly. Lunarpages support staff ROCKS!!! EVERY time I have a request, problem or issue I get an answer or a response quicker than if I could do things myself. I love the support, and have been and will continue to recommend that EVERYONE I know use Lunarpages for their hosting. And as a web designer, I'm getting more clients needing more capable hosting and have already brought several of them to Lunar. Hope to continue the trend!
I've been a customer of Lunarpages since May 2003. During this time, the uptime, price, support, and available options for my account have all been outstanding. I regularly visit Lunarforums, their forum community, due to how friendly everyone is there, and the speed that questions are answered both on their Help Desk and on the forums is amazing. I've never really called in for phone support, but it is available as well 7 days a weeks if I ever needed to use it. You can't find another Apache-based webhost that is as close to perfect as this one.
I have had several websites with Lunarpages. One of them is my newest website that is going to be all about myself. I am building my webpage with their new web builder. It is awesome. I like Frontpage too.
My website has never been down and my pages load very fast. The support, I always use the email support or their forum is great.

Hello, I have never written a review before, but most reviews you see are from people that had a bad experience and are mad. Well, I'm a very satisfied customer, and have been treated great, so I think that it is only fitting that I share my experiences with my current host.
I have been with Lunarpages for 3 years now, and I have tried many other hosts before I found Lunarpages.
I was somewhat skeptical at first, being that I had been burnt numerous times.
The prices and packages were "one of those too good to be true deals", but I had heard great comments about their support, one thing that I have never found with the other hosting companies, and I figured this was probably a hype too, but I took the plunge, and I can honestly say, that, IMO, they have the best tech support of any hosting service I have been with.
My site is seldom down. I did the math, and the uptime for my account was 99.9. Their servers are extermely fast and reliable. which is great for my business and my customers.
They also have a community forum, which I find to be a great place to knock around ideas with other members, and I enjoy helping the new people out in my spare time.
This is a large company, and I noticed, from the login page, that they add new servers just about everyday.
I really can't beging to tell you how happy I decided to go with them. It has made my hosting experience stress free. IMO, they are the absoulte best hosting company out there.
this is the first time i have handled a website, i was reffered to Lunarpages by a friend & it was the best decision i could of ever made, this host hashelped me setup my site, i almost had an instant messenger conversation with support, waiting no longer than 20 minutes for a reply most of the time, the pricing is brilliant, and i am going to go along and get a dedicated server soon, as for reliability, whats downtime?

The absolute best webhost I've ever worked with and used for small business' and accounts. Their support is amazing and I've yet to see any host that even compares with support options and availability. The uptime is great, Their promise of 99.9% is correct. & The staff and customers work together to create one of the best online communities at their forums.
All I can say is that, this host has been the best I have been with in the past 6 years of hosting websites with other companies and this company. Their customer service is fast amd friendly. Hardly any downtime. They also have a forum where current customers can ask a question and get an answer within minutes from staff or other customers whom help out around the board.
Before finding Lunarpages, I had no idea that 'customer service' existed in a web hosting company. I was used to 3-5 day turn around for even the most simple of questions with previous hosts. Lunarpages not only answers support requests and questions the same day but often in the same HOUR that questions are submitted. Hands down, Lunarpages has the best customer support department around.
I love this hosting company. I have all of my sites hosted with them. The main reason for this is that whenever i call, I get an actual person who is allways curtious and patient. On top of that, my site is up whenever i need it! what more could you ask for?

this host is great, i have been with them a long time now and i haven't had one bit of down time, i have sites for personal use, one for my own small company and i also have my current work moving customers to Lunarpages, Lunarpages are definately the best hosting provider about.
Lunar Pages is fantastic! They manage their servers in such a way that shared hosting is NOT a problem. No one is allowed to compromise a server to the point where other customers would be affected. I applaud their support and especially the forums.
I've learned so much since moving my site to Lunar Pages, and everything I've learned has been used to improve my site and add a bunch of new features that would not have been possible at my old Windows hosting service.
My site has been hosted with LunarPages for over a year now with only one instance of any down tme and that only for about a half an hour. The reason it went down - a major DOS attack. I was very impressed with how quickly the staff got on top of the situation and resolved it and kept their customers informed of what was happening. I've gladly renewed my contract with LunarPages for a second year and can see no reason to change that in the future.
It's been amazing to me how many new things LunarPages has offered in just the past year. They may not be on the bleeding edge of technology, but you get fewer problems when you wait for new versions of software to settle in and stabilize before pushing it onto your customers.
The forums are the best. When customers are happy enough with their service that they are willing to help others solve their problems, you know you have something good going on.
I heartily recommend LunarPages to everyone who will listen. They are absolutely the best hosting service I have ever been involved with.
Their support is fast but clueless. We should be running our stuff ourselves on a VPS or something instead of using these guys. They were OK in regards to features and support 2 years ago, but with time comes mediocrity or worse (stupidity). Now they move our server and screw up the MX records for our spam filter. In the last few months the uptime is questionable. Of course their pricing is good...but besides that there are better hosts to be had. We will be leaving shortly.
Lunarpages is a very fair and honest host. They offer fast hosting, that always online. They don't offer as much as some other unrealistic hosts - but what they offer they deliver.
If they could improve something they really should allow another 2-3 FTP accounts and perhaps another free add-on site. Since they are continually upgrading (when I bought hosting they offered 800 MB, now they offer 3,000MB) I expect some features like this will come soon.
The best thing about lunarpages, is their forums - lunarforums.com. It shows they aren’t afraid of their customers talking (as they’re always so happy), it’s a really helpful community. It’s really nice to know that their staff are so competent, just have a look at anyone thread where the person has HAD a problem.
I have been with Lunarpages with more than 2 years and I liked the service very much.
My problems began at the end of 2004 when they started suspended my web account (first without notice), informed me that my accound is compromized and i have to change my scipts.
I changed my scripts around 7 times and at the end i left ONLY simple html code. Even then i got the same response from them, my account was disabled again, and I decided to switch. I lost customers, I lost a lot of time trying to understand where the problem is and finally after switching I realized in the forums that this happen to many other guys and seems like the problem is in the setting of the smtp authentication from the lunarpages side - something which is not connected with the code at all!
I may be wrong, but still curious what exactly was the exploit in the lunarpages servers. Seems it is not fixed yet, because the complaints are still going on in the internet. If they find and fix the hacker hole, I will reconsider my hosting again.
I've had a majority of my websites hosted with Lunarpages for just over 3 years now. As a web designer, I have to deal with other hosting companies chosen by clients (against my recommendations) and none can compare to Lunar when it comes to ease of use, reliability and above all else, customer support.
The only negative comment I have is in regard to high-traffic/high-bandwidth usage sites. Once you get into the heavier usage package, the prices do go up quite a bit but in comparison to the way other hosting companies (that run extraordinarily cheap prices for huge bandwidth offers) respond to support issues its definately worth the extra money.
I am not hosting with lunarpages any longer, but had to say what a great service it is. I highly recommend it for anyone seeking shared hosting (I needed high end reseller hosting).
Even though I had an account set up and running, I chose to cancel, was refunded quickly. and during the process, all questions were answered quickly.

After searching for advice on web hosting providers, decided to go with LunarPages. They advertise quality support, and they deliver. I've been with them 8 months; no downtime; it's easy to get my inquiries answered; and their FrontPage Server Extensions work great. Their "control panel" has a complete set of web-management features. They are not among the least expensive providers, but the (small) premium has been worth it to me.
Wonderful! Lunar Pages has been great. Their support is absolutely superb relative to my last host (dot%Hosting) where no one knew what the word "support" meant.
I have three pages with lunarpages, one with omnis (soon to move to lunarpages), and have had some dealings with infinology. Lunarpages generally answers emailed customer service questions within 12 hours, and forum questions even more rapidly. By contrast, I have yet to have a reply from the other two.
Overall reliability is great, the control panel is easy to use, and useful, things work the way they say they will - basically impressed with these guys.
10/10 - What amazing service - ok I sent them a host of banal e-mails asking this and that about little annoying questions i had - I had responses within an hour or two, telephone numbers to call if needed, friendly e-mails, you can rate the response they give you these guys are great and they are not expensive - dont look any further - if they come cheaper you will never get this level of support. It's about time a company started to take the industry seriously and treat people as people and not e-mail addresses - CONGRATULATIONS all round

I have been with Lunarpages for about a year now. I have been really satisfied. I depend on email for my business, they have been completely dependable. On the few times that I did contact their technical support department I received a reply that was helpful and courteous.
