Wow... I could not be more pleased with how simple and easy Maia makes it. There were a few glitches along the way that I ran into because of my own mistakes but Maia's support quality and response time are grade A+++.
Amazingly fast response time to questions and issues - I would not believe how fast they are if I did not experience it myself - longest wait time to have any issues resolved was no more than 15 minutes. Even with my many blunders within 2 days I have a fully functional website that I am thrilled with - in 2 days went from nothing to a fully functional website!
Very pleased with my decision to use Maiai and would recommend their service to anyone looking for a reasonably priced (low cost) host with top notch and very highly knowledgeable people working with you along the way.
I have one of their least expensive set-ups and I feel like I am treated as a VIP. You don't need to buy a high cost package with Maiai to get the type of treatment and respect you can hope for when spending much more.
I was with Maiahost for 3 years give or take. There are some good things I could say about them and i particular the promptness off their tech support. Sadly anything good I can say is eclipsed by the fact they terminated my account at the request of Spamhaus for being a source of spam and malware.
In fairness I canceled the account before I was officially terminated but I did get a message saying Spamhaus demanded my site be removed before Maiahost would be unlisted as a hosting service for spam.
My last year or more there was nothing but an ordeal for me in terms of my site being hacked over and over. It came to eb that I was doing less posting than trying to deal with yet another hacking or malware situation. The last situation had been going since around Christmas of 2010. The same source kept injecting .htacess files into my FTP. They just could not solve the problem and in the end terminated my account as though it were my fault. I was never even told sorry or anything. it was more like "we have to do this for our reputation".
While I can understand that what has to be clear is that is not my fault my site was not protected and repeatedly hacked over over byt the same sources. I did not inject malware script into my own website for fun. The tech guy there did his best I feel but in the end something at Maiahost is not secure.
I must say I'm very happy with Maiahost.
I have 3 accounts there and they are always friendly and patient end give you all the help you need and they are fast to do it to.
With one account (a forum that I set up for the first time) I needed help more then once and they always solved my problems.
In my experience they help you with more then wath there obligated to do.
I'm still on the fence about these guys.
I usually like to support small businesses and these guys were cheap and I'd heard good things. My site has been down more than 7 times in the past three months. First they told me it was hackers and then the hard drives on their servers were failing.
To their credit (lately) I have been able to get in touch with customer support consistently. A few months ago it was not like this.
I have potentially lost assignments because my portfolio was not live for viewing and am frustrated by this immensely.
The site is easy to use and the customer service has helped me and installed CMS for me as well as made other funky switches on my server for me quickly and without charge.
They told me they just installed new hard drives. I'm basically to the point where if my site experiences more down time, I'm leaving. But if things go smooth as they say they will from now on, I'll stay. I get the feeling they know what they are doing but that they just got overwhelmed with business and requests. They seem to be making strides towards improving.
If my site stays stable I will change my opinion to I would recommend them. Right now I can't recommend them because while they have been personable and the service seems nice the bottom line is that my site has been down on multiple occasions when I needed it up, and that's the bottom line. You buy a website to be live, and I haven't gotten that always.
Great host. They have helped me a lot in a year. I have more than 10 sites hosted with them and they are always online and loading fast. I recommend this host.
Great staff. Moved my entire site (over 60000 pages) in less than 1 hour. So far uptime is 100% and support responds in less than a couple of minutes. I would definitely recommend them to others.
Great host, would recommend it to all interested. Been with them for 2 months now, support is excellent - never had to wait more than 5 minutes before they resolved my tickets.
