Verdict : Okay, I was with pinchpenny when they closed down/Netrillium bought them out/whatever. I was one of the lucky few who didn't lose my data and since they offered me six months or a year of free hosting, I decided to stick it out. That was with my first domain name, and everything was fine until it came time to renew my domain. They told me it was no longer possible to access the domain because Pinchpenny now owned/controlled it or something to those lines. This was a few years ago. Whatever, I wasn't that upset, so I sucked it up and picked a different name.

A few times, I had trouble with support. They are incredibly slow and when they do deign to respond to customer complaints or inquiries that are not related to buying their shoddy product, the support is occasionally rude. I have gotten into tiffs with a few staff members, but I don't think I was wrong in getting angry that it was taking so long to resolve simple issues.

Lastly, I have been billed monthly for $.87 or some such amount for quite some time. This comes out of my debit account, and I have bank statements to prove it. I let my domain registration sit for a little while because I didn't have the money in my checking account to renew it and I didn't want to put anything on my new credit card just yet. It was a month, maybe two, but whatever--not really that important. A week or two ago, I paid for the registration and went to check on the hosting and found it wasn't there. I assumed they had just shut it down and deleted it, which was fine by me because I hadn't paid it and it was certainly their right. So I emailed the support and asked if my stuff was still available or not and if so, how I could get my hosting back.

The response I got was that it would cost me something like $180 to renew my domain/get my stuff back/something. Whatever, not important--my brain shut down after reading $180. No way was I paying that much for their hosting after such a long time being halfway disappointed with them! So I responded again and asked if they could instead just refund my card, and whoever responded did so extremely rudely and completely unprofessionally.

I would never recommend this hosting service to anyone else! Stay away. As it is, I'm waiting to hear back from them or my credit card about the domain registration fee, which should have been refunded but wasn't! These people screw you out of money.

Verdict : I have had the same experience as a lot of other people had with Netrillium, apparently.

Back a few years ago, when they were a much smaller host, I would have recommended them to anyone who needed a small website. They were excellent.

They have deteriorated as their prices have dropped and host base has expanded. They are not worthless, but I would only buy hosting from them if you're interested in their tiniest plan ($3/mo. as of Dec. 2007) and you only need adequate performance from your host and website.

If you can afford to spend a few dollars more a month, do so and go elsewhere. There are other hosts out there who are as attentive and reliable as they used to be...

Verdict : I have used Netrillium for a long time now. Their prices are reasonable. I've been with other hosts before that offer too much for too little and are always down or causing problems.
Netrillium support has ALWAYS been helpful. When I send in a ticket it's responded within a few hours and sometimes MINUTES.

Never experienced problems, my fanlistings are always up and I think they are great.

Verdict : Netrillium used to be a decent host, until recently.

I used them for about a year and hardly ever had downtime. The prices were ridiculously low, and the customer service was decent. I eventually stopped using my site, cancelled the hosting, and let the domain expire.

Recently I decided I wanted a new site, so I immediately went and bought 6 months of hosting and a new domain from Netrillium. However, this time, they took about a week to activate it rather than a day.

I sent one e-mail asking them why my account had not been activated, and then another a few days later asking them to cancel the account and give me a refund.

It wasn't until today that I got an email saying that the account was activated. They completely ignored my other email about cancelling the hosting, but that was okay since I had my site and was excited enough about that.

However, within the first 20 minutes that I started working on it, the server went down and I haven't been able to connect since.

Don't use this host. They're going waaaay downhill.

Verdict : I was originally hosted by Pinchpenny, but then Netrillium bought it out and they extended my hosting for half a year for free and let me renew at the same price. Of course, the first time renewing, they overcharged me and I had to remind them of their promise to me and other Pinchpenny customers. They fixed it, and all was fine for a while. I had plenty of difficulties at first, but support was decent and it wasn't anything major. But this year, support went down the drain, and when I decided to renew an old domain name I had with Pinchpenny, they didn't even ask for an authorization code until I emailed them asking why they didn't activate it yet. And of course, they never kept any of pinchpenny's files; if they would have told me back when I had access to my domain information (including the stupid authorization code), I would have made an effort to remember it, but I just assumed they'd have it all handy. I know, I should never assume, but they'd been so great for a while, and they always gave me my password when I forgot it, so I figured I was fine. Anyhow, I shrugged it off that time cause it wasn't all that important. Well, then my main domain name expired, and they never told me (and they had gotten into the habit of automatically renewing my things, so I thought they'd automatically renew that too), so I tried to renew that and even emailed them ahead of time to tell them that I don't quite remember what it was but I gave them two of my old passwords that it might have been, and they didn't even read it. They emailed me a week and a half later telling me I need an authorization code. Thanks, didn't know that... So I replied a week ago, and they still haven't responded, and my domain name is still not active.

So if you're looking for a host that you don't need to contact a lot, Netrillium is perfect. Great prices (although not as good as Pinchpenny was), rarely any downtime (compared to pinchpenny), and they let you host multiple domains by default. If they just worked on customer support and actually kept their customers' information, they'd be perfect.

Verdict : One of my websites has been hosted by Netrillium since July 2005 and I recenlty added another. I have had no technical problems, their technical end is very reliable. I did have a billing problem once, which was eventually resolved to my satisfaction.

Comment on the other reviews here: Reading them by themselves, pretending I know nothing about Netrillium, some of them are ridiculous. Extortion ??? It is absurd.

Verdict : I've only ever used Netrillium for my domain name because their the cheapest. In the past they have been pretty good and my domain was working within 24 hours of renewing it, this time round it's taken forever. I paid 4 days ago and still no domain name, I've even already been charged the payment.

Definitely transferring my domain somewhere else next time, probably somewhere like hostmysite.com who I have other domains with, their very friendly when I went to renew a domain and made it very easy for me. I'd rather just pay that little bit more than put up with them.

Verdict : I have used netrillium for MANY years and they used to be really good. Lately, they have gone to the dumps and i will NEVER refer anyone to them again. It took me over a WEEK to get my information for the latest domain i purchased, after many days of emails, support tickets, even phone calls to ermina (the owner, which were left unanswered or pick up/hang up). I wouldn't even rate their customer service a 1. Someone notified me on Friday that my domain was "suspended" so i contacted them and they told me because my bill hadn't been paid (i owed $30.00).. That is 5 months worth of bill. Yet I have paypal invoices from all the way back in january that say i paid every month. I showed them invoices and still (6th day, that i KNOW of), my site is suspended. I have left them many messages and they just dont care.. DO NOT USE NETRILLIUM!

Verdict : I had a reseller account with Netrillium for almost 5 years. The servers were basically reliable as far as up-time goes. But their support in the last few years has gotten terrible. I have a number of site which use PHP scripts to send email when a form is filled out (for reservations, requests for info). This email was non-functioning for over 2 months, despite numerous trouble tickets and attempts to contact Netrillium. They do not provide a phone number and I can see by the names of the people that respond that they have a very small staff. They also do not provide reminders when domains are ready to expire and sometimes their ordering pages didn't work. I would get very nervous about my domains not being renewed correctly.

I have now moved all my sites to Hostgator. They have a support line and real people. THey offered a domain reseller with Enom, so now I can manage all my domains and ALL are set to automatically renew.

Verdict : I am very mad at Netrillium. I didn't pay my bill on time and it was suspended. I made the payment and they told me I was a payment behind. I think this is true so I made a second payment. It has been 16 days with one response from them and my site is still suspended. I can't get ahold of anyone at Nettrillium. I have never really had a problem until now. I am very upset and hurt. I can't get to my files I don't know what to do because they won't write me back. 4 years of service and this is how I am treated

Verdict : I was with Netrillium for a very long time. I first was with Cyber Pixels, then transferred to Digital Riot which got bought out by Netrillium. I stayed with them because I never had a problem. Suddenly though I wasn't able to log in to pay my bill, I got charged 2 times for my hosting. They renewed my domain for me automatically and then poof. I lost it all. I wasn't notified this year that my domain was expiring, or that they were billing me for hosting. I got billed for hosting, my domain was renewed (but not for me, oh no, it gets better). My domain was sold to some other company and they had the gall to tell me that if I just logged into the IP address for my domain I could get my files. Not true, my friends. I lost everything I had spent 2+ years creating. Links, photos, stories, etc. I would not recommend this company AT ALL. I am, however, back at Cyberpixels and have so far not had any problems. It's just nice to know that my domain is gone and its registered to someone else in their company. Not really. Don't use them.

Verdict : Horrible. Worst host I've ever been involved with. I've used various other hosts, such as IXWebHosting and PowWeb, both of which are amazing and I would recommend to anyone to do business with. However, Netrillium is bad. Very Bad. Random SQL errors all the time, sloooooow page loads (not because of the website, but because of the server), horrible and slow support, you get very little for the price, and webmail doesn't work. It does implement AWSTATS though, which lots of hosts don't use, so that is probably the only pro, drowning in a sea of cons.

Save yourself the painful headaches and broken keyboards and office equipment... Pick a different host! (I love IXWEBHOSTING, so I recommend them...)

Verdict : I transfered a domain for $8.50, then they didnt tell me whether it was transfered or not, i had to initiate and ASKKKKK. she said they couldnt transfer it cos my domain needs authorization key or something. now i said to discontinue the transfer and refund my money. she said it was refunded but i got billed FOUR times! totalling $34.00! my credit card statement read:

1/26/07 Netrillium 8.50
1/26/07 Netrillium 8.50
1/31/07 Netrillium 8.50
1/31/07 Netrillium 8.50

This company, for a lack of a MEANER term, is just BAD and that sales person is a big liar for saying that both charges of 1/26/07 were refunded!

Verdict : I was hosted with Netrillium for a while directly after it changed over from Digital Riot (which a friend of mine owned). At the time I was getting the service for a discounted price and didn't have any downtime.

I had a very active message board and it was causing the server to go very slow. I decided at that point to buy my own server. I assume once I left the server issues resolved.

This was in 2003, I believe.

Verdict : Netrillium service is poor.

I had no problem with their customer service nor their pricing, but the websites I hosted under them simply did not perform well.

Very often were their datacenters interrupted, so my website wouldn't perform properly, or the website was down, or some permissions get screwed up - all of its own volition.

I would not recommend Netrillium hosting services.

Verdict : At first, I loved Netrillium. The uptime was excellent, I thought I had an excellent plan, and the support was A+. Soon, though, the quality of the service just got worse and worse. One day I noticed my sites started displaying PHP errors that were scattered and would clear up or repeat upon refresh. It was never a matter of if there was an error, just where the error was because when one would clear up when I refreshed, another new one would pop up. I emailed support over and over again to tell them about these errors. Sometimes I got no reply. Sometimes I got a reply that they were looking into it. One time they told me they had cleared some server and it should be fixed... which it was... for about a week. I got so fed up with the errors that they never seemed to fix or could tell me anything about that I moved. I did this about five months ago and I have no regrets.

Verdict : At first they were the best, A+ response times and were awesome when it came to helping out a "newbie". Lately though, they have been a real pain to deal with. My domain expired, so I renewed. For some reason it wasn't coming back. So I sent in a help ticket and I got this response : "Did you renew? Go here --- to renew." so I responded that I had and I had proof; email confirmation and the whole bit that I paid.
No response no response nothing. I emailed directly and got this response : "Please forward your confirmation email. Thank you."
I did and again - nothing, nothing , no response, waiting waiting...

Long story short, I ended up showing everything to my lawyer. He wanted to call (there is a number if you WHOIS). I emailed explaining I was fustrated and angry - "One of three things will happen - My domain comes back, I sent proof I paid and or I get an explination why nothing has happened, or my lawyer will be calling..."

Two hours later I got a response - "The DNS wasn't propagating... I don't understand why you didn't recieve any of out reponses..."

ResponseS, as in plural as if they were trying to get in touch w/ me. It took threatening w/ my lawyer to get a simple "The DNS wasn't propagating..."!

Verdict : I will never recommend Netrillium to anyone. This company is bad. They might have a flashy layout from monstertemplates.com, but that doesn't hide the fact that they don't care about their customers. I've heard stories of support tickets going a week without a response, rudeness, double-billing, and even extortion. My advice is to stay away. They're just out to rip people off.

I had a reseller with Netrillium for almost a year. In the beginning I didn't really have many problems. Initial domain registration and account setup after immediate payment was slow, due to the fact that you have to wait for them to recieve an email of the order for them to set up the account and register the domain through another registrar. It was only about 7 months ago that I began experiencing a hell of a lot of downtime. The server would be down about 2 or 3 times during a week on average. The downtime would typically last a few hours, but there was one occasion that the server was down for almost an entire week. I've submitted tickets on various occasions and the responses have been rushed, vague, and on the odd occasion rather rude. They like to blame the customer a lot. I've been told stories like 'it's on a bad rack' and 'we can't see any problems, it must be something at your end'. I'd know if it were something at my end. They clearly need to take more responsibility and learn how to run a business properly, ditch the teenage-angst style attitudes, and find a real data center that don't use servers powered by a pentium 286 and a rusty windmill in a potato field.

Verdict : I moved to Netrillium after being with another hosting company a few years ago. The pricing was perfect for how much space I wanted, not to mention they were very flexible with their payments. I've neevr had a problem with them, and whenever I have an issue with my site their customer service was quick reacting. A few times they were responding quicker than I can reply! I upgraded to a reseller account, and I now only use Netrillim for all my domain registration and hosting. I doubt I'll ever switch hosts.
