Their customer service went down the tubes when they were bought out months ago. Now, they change their terms of service without notice and start charging cancellation fees. They have gotten their last dime from me! They were a great company a few years ago, but they are not worth the heart ache and money any more! If you too have been surprised by the cancellation fee, please contact me.
I have had several sites with ReadyHosting for years, but their reliability and tech support are driving me away. They were bought out last year and I had hopes that the new management would solve things, but they didn't. My sites are down for an hour or so at a time about once a week, without anything changing on the site - their servers just quit. This is despite the new, fully-redundant servers they installed last year which was supposed to stop all of this.
Submitting a trouble ticket online is worthless, because they never read your question and just send you links to portions of their self-help which are vaguely related to your question. Even if you preface your question with "I read your self-help at xxx link but it did not work and did not address this concern of mine..." they still will reply with "oh, perhaps you should check the self help at xxx" being the same link you mentioned in your question. They do have 24/7 tech support, and I've found that you have to call them so that you can reject the canned responses on the spot and get elevated to a advanced support tech who is the guy you really should have been talking to all along.
However, I must admit the only reason I have stayed with them as long as I have is the value for the cost - their reseller program is hard to beat, and the features of their plans are pretty broad. But in the end I have decided you get what you pay for, and they're not worth it.
ReadyHosting is a decent web host(especially if you're looking for a Windows box) but there are way too many restrictions, and my uptime has been pretty lousy lately.
The company began in Wisconsin, but late last year was bought out by an investment firm.
Since the buyout, the new firm has tried to evolve the host into a "cookie cutter" host, like many others it owns.
They have serious issues with network, downtime, database, and most of all support.
If you email tech support, they may get back to you in a few days, and when they do it is usually a "canned" response. If you ask a specific question, it is as if they don't even read the question, they simply "select" the "canned" answer from a list that they hope matches the question.
After several years prior to the purchase by the investment firm, I am leaving.
My suggestion, avoid this NEW company at all costs.
The name alone is a cruel joke, as Readyhosting is seldom ready.
4 contiguous days of downtime on email and now a denail of service attack which they respond to by sending an email pointing the finger at everone except themselves.
We haven't been with this hosting company very long but already we've had several outages in which both our email and websites were down for several days. This time it isn't just our site that is down. Every site including their own site is down. Their service is so poor, they can't even host their own web site.
