I am managing multiple sites at Resellerzoom. The biggest problems I am facing are:
1. Security vulnerability - All my site get hacked time to time, despite I update all blogs regularly.
2. Huge downtime.. not at all acceptable. The haskell become unstable any time.
I am not hosting any big site here, just 10 blogs with 15 page contents each.. still they are unable to provide good service.
Recently they sent us a notice that they moved our server to a new one. At first glance I realized they missed to assign a Ded. IP, which I had to submit a ticket for. Then we started to face different errors on our sites due to wrong settings on the new server. Then we started to see more and more down times.
Their Tech Support people don't have enough knowledge to fix the issues.
I'm paying for a budget reseller plan and this is the last answer from the technical support after my request of explanation on frequent 500 errors on a poorly visited wordpress blog (mine):
"Hello,
Please be informed that the hosting plan you are presently on is designed for low-traffic, html websites and is not for CMS(Content Management Systems) or Dynamic (mySQL-driven) websites. In case you experience this "500-Internal Server Error" very often, I would recommend you to switch over to the "Advanced hosting package" to achieve a trouble-free CMS hosting."
I host multiple sites under both a budget plan and a reseller plan. Rather than submit separate reviews, I am combining them into one. My ratings for the budget plan would be VERY low due to a recent 26+ hour downtime on a budget server! This was certainly atypical and your mileage will vary depending on the server you are put on, but this was certainly an unacceptable downtime.
Support is generally pretty responsive. The most frequent problem seems to be email bouncing back as spam. Resellerzoom usually get this taken care of promptly, but in fairness they often have to deal with other companies (e.g., yahoo) that can have long delays in dealing with mail servers that are flagged as spammers.
I have never had any downtime with domains hosted on the advanced plan. Note that the difference between budget plans differ only in the amount of disk space, etc that you are given. The advanced plan is a failover plan. People really need to take this into account when considering their business needs. You get what you pay for.
Finally, folks should also peruse forum.resellerzoom.com to look at the experience of other folks, but keep in mind that people don't usually post there unless they are having a problem, so you might get a skewed view of things.
THE WORST HOSTING COMPANY.
I have been with this guys for almost 4 years.
At the begining, they were very good, so I had no reason to complaint.
Then, about a year ago, they stopped the most important site in my account, the one that was generating good revenue.
The reason (excuse) was that the site was taking much of the server resources and that the only way to keep my account would be to pay for a rather expensive plan that they call fail-over, and so I did.
Three crashes later and several day with no email service, I learned that this guys have no clue of the meaning of the word fail-over. For them, fail-over is a word that appeals to the public and brings them a lot more money than regular plans.
When one hard drive went bad, we had to wait almost a day for them to replace it. And the fail-over? Well, they said that they need to make some adjustments.
Several months later, a second hard drive went bad, and guess what? The fail-over system was still being adjusted.
Now, we lost the email service again, this time because of....
Customers can´t access their accounts, the server crashes every three or four hours, and the services are a mess. And the fail-over? Well, I am going let someone else to figure out what is that, because this time I am out for good.
I don´t want to finish this review without a mention of their support.
They really deserve a medal:
I wrote "Since yesterday, NONE of our customers can access their email accounts. We need answers"
..... and we got answers: "Can you access the VHM and the cPanel? We will gladly reset your password". Do I need to say more?
I've been with ResellerZoom for nearly 4 years now and I've always had issues with downtime, access speed, ftp issues etc. Since trying to run a commercial site though this has become a nightmare for me.
Firstly. I'm using a budget reseller package. They tell me that my wordpress installs are maxing out on my allocated memory usage. How can this be? Why sell this as a RESELLER package (budget or otherwise) if it can't handle a standard WordPress install.
Secondly. Their ticket support responses may be fast, but they are usualess. I've got 20-60 email replies going to and throw for the same issue, all of them with NO solutions.
Finally. I'm now being told I need to upgrade my package if I want to keep running wordpress. Which means paying nearly 5 times the rate i'm paying now, all because my wordpress install goes 0.5 - 0.8 percent over my allocated memory allowance.. Which btw, is so confusing when you read the T&C's that it gives you a headache just trying to work out the numbers.
This is like being held to ransom. Even if I move my site to the UK and host it here, the package is 5 times more expensive, but still only allows for the same memory usage.. I'm expected to 8-10 times as much for double the memory usage.. Again, all this just so I can use WordPress? Forget it.. Avoid this hosting company if you intend on running WordPress!!!!!!!
Absolutely NOT recommended. I have DAILY downtimes, I cannot run my sites without white pages, 500 errors, incomplete loads and so on. I have started writing DAILY in the hope that maybe something would ring a bell and they would actually start providing a decent hosting service. I pay 20 USD for an advanced reseller account and have daily downtimes.
I am prepared to move to another host and hope it's better than this. Stay away unless you like to not be able to work on your sites.
If you want to keep 10-20 html files it is ok, joomla, wordpress, phpbb aren't working - Internal Server Error - they host minimum 1000 domains on each server - stupid and useless support responses - fast but useless - keep away
I been with them for 1.5 years and only had three major issues. This last one simply did it for me. My site was down for almost a week and they simply could not fix the problem. On top of it their email server seems to be banned from major email providers making it impossible to email many of my customers. I may not have a lot of traffic in my site but our sales are very high as my average customer buys about $800 per purchase. When I can’t make a sale for a week it simply kills my business.
Service has MASSIVELY gone down hill since 2006. Too many sites on too few servers = overload and crashed services. Worst of all is Failover - less reliable than their budget plans. Avoid.
Never buy their fail over plans. It does not work. My websites have gone down twice in a few days and have never seen the failover take over. Stay away please.
Never host with this company if you care anything at all about uptime or decent customer service. You won't receive either at ResellerZoom.
Their customer service provides canned responses that rarely even address your question, let alone provide a solution. They are rude and arrogant and you will not receive the help you require.
Their claim about 99.9% uptime is also laughable. You might expect some downtime on a budget reseller server, but not when you're paying for an "upgraded" plan. Their servers are a joke.
Don't even try to run scripts like Wordpress or phpBB on your domains, either. It will kill the server that it's running on and they will disable all of your domains, one by one, without even sending you an e-mail to tell you they did it.
Absolutely the worst customer service I have experienced anywhere at any company.
It is absolutely great. Ever since I started going with RZ two years ago I've never really had a problem. Sure, I've encountered errors and technical difficulties but they replied to my tickets FAST. In fact, I just sent a mail to their customer support tonight and I got the email in less than ten minutes o_o
Reliability? Over the most recent 1.5years or so, the worst uptime I've had was 99.75%. And that was an out-lier due to some server problem. They also have this uptime guarantee thing that if it falls below 99.8% in a particular month they would credit you back a certain percentage. Most of the time the uptime is 99.99%-100.00%. That's where my 5/5 reliability rating came from.
For the great service and features, the price is definitely reasonable. Really worth it!
Don't waste your time.
Their servers can't even handle a standard Wordpress install without crashing and then they'll disable all of your domains for "over utilization". Give me a break!
Again, if their servers can't handle a basic Wordpress install with little traffic, they won't be able to handle your website, either.
As many of the other reviews have said, this host is a bad one. The features are good and the price is good for the features but the horrible support and horrible reliability makes their prices very unreasonable. I don't want to get into too much detail but this is one of the worst hosts I have ever used.
They started migrating servers 2 months ago. Keeping clients advised was not handled well, they shut down old server earlier than advised causing massive name server issues.
Support has taken up to 60 hours to respond and messages sent to their "management" link just go to support.
Live support erratic and if they don't llike the question for some reason the system goes offline.
7 months ago everything was fine, it's almost as if they can no longer cope with new servers and support issues that crop up.
When your clients start walking it's time for you to do the same.
I've been with these guys about 5 months now. Service was great at the start back in Oct/Nov 2006. But the last few days our sites have been going down. Support act like there is nothing wrong. We are on the London - UK servers. They said its a RAID issue. I asked could they guarantee this would not happen again and the y said no. That all there servers are set-up the same and there would always be spikes or whatever due to it. So I'm moving. Was great back in May 2005.
Support has been nothing but fast and courteous beyond measure. -Not even one little complaint there. Sergey, Jay, Sumith, Kevin, Kiet -The guys have been great to me.
However, since ~July 2006 their reliability has been going down. Timeouts, email servers unresponsive, 500 errors, etc.
-even close to 99.9% uptime would be a VERY hard claim for them to support at this point in time.
-Even right now, all my sites and my server are down, no Ping response at all.
If I were doing higher-volume business and relied on uptime, these outages would be catastrophic.
From the very beginning, this host has exceeded all of my expectations. I have gone through 4 other web hosts before finding ResellerZoom. They answer all my support e-mail within 30 min. They have Live Chat and a community forum where their technicians are actively responding to people's questions. They publish monthly uptime stats and give you proper notice when they are making a change on their servers. They also seek customer opinions on new plans or services before they are offered... They have recently added failover hosting plans. Their prices are very reasonable for reselling... Definitely recommended!

I had purchased the budget reseller account from ResellerZoom, with intentions of hosting several websites. Instead I ended up hosting one semi-large forum.
This is where the "cons" come in. I have about 100 - 200 registered users on this forum. It uses about 150 MB out of the 2000 MB space that I bought. And it uses 3 GB bandwidth out of 30 GB per month. Averaging about 2000 page views, per month. Myself and my users experienced excessive downtime. Threads/topics loading very slow, or in most times doesn't load at all. Constant "Internal Server Error" errors, as well as errors in the MySQL.
Unprofessional customer service. I had wanted to downgrade my plan from ResellerZoom and switch over to HostingZoom - which happens to be the same company. Only to receive a reply of "You must terminate your account with ResellerZoom, then purchase a plan at HostingZoom. Any left over months that you purchased (3), will not be refunded."
I DO NOT recommend this host to anyone. Yes, the plans are too good to be true. But if you intend to run a large business or in my case a public discussion forum that receives "2000 unique page views" a day look elsewhere. Unless you enjoy the constant errors and downtime. I've have had better service from smaller hosting providers - ran by teenagers.
Hosting through ResellerZoom is initially good; however, as soon as a problem occurs your luck has just ended. Our problems stem from a minor billing glitch which has escalated into a serious problem. We operate a successful consultancy and have dealt with a number of hosting providers over the last few years. ResellerZoom has definitely won the award for worst web hosting provider, with their distinct lack of customer service.
When searching for a hosting service be that as a reseller or just basic hosting please weigh up your options carefully before deciding to use ResellerZoom. If you can possibly help it look elsewhere, you will do yourself a disservice if you choose ReselerZoom.
Resellerzoom service is very worst. I mail my problems to every time but I not get solutions they give me the options not proper solutions. Resellerzoom not giving the service properly. Resellerzoom not give your money back.
I looked for a reseller hosting account after having trust issues with my previous host (Chapter Zero). ResellerZoom was (and is) an amazing deal for reseller hosting. In the 8 months I've been with them, my site has only gone down a few times and only for minutes. Their support is very responsive (usually I get a response in less than 30 minutes) and helpful. They also have an uptime guarantee, so if they do slip up with the uptime you can get an extra month or so of hosting for free.
I have nothing but good things to say about ResellerZoom, and I would recommend to anyone who needs an inexpensive & reliable reseller host.
I'm sure resellerzoom is very very bad.The system gave me errors like "Internal Server Error".I hate it.Because it happens always.And I have forum.When the server gave me Internal Server Error my online users becomes not online.And it makes me crazy.I recommend you not to work this company
I manage a nonprofit organization and 10 other websites. I require SSH access, which is limited to a "jailshell." As you might imagine, you can do very little with jailshell, but at $4.95, this is a budget account. Advanced and professional accounts offer more in terms of uptime and support (which are the two big issues everyone mentions). It all comes out in the wash. You pay for what you get. They are no fly-by-night group, support is more than reasonable if, like all support teams, you work with them. Furthermore, they are a subsidiary of Hosting Zoom, so if you really have a legitimate gripe, you can go over their heads and complain. I don't think you can go wrong with this choice if you are reasonable and pay for the service which you require.
This company is great ! - (if you dont have issues). Their uptime is amazing !, but the minute something happens you are DONE FOR. Dont even think that techs will help you. I was running fine for 3 months uptime of 100% but once there was an email issue- email was down a whole WEEK, and NO SUPPORT AT ALL WHATSO EVER. So basically if you go with this company be ready to transfer after about 5-6 months after you sign up because the SAME DAY OR at least the next day after the server goes down or your email goes down transfer imediately because the length of downtime or no support just will kill your company, business, or website.
I've been with this company now for nearly a year and they are simply the worst. When they are good, they are very very good, but when they are bad they are down right terrible. My sites have been down for several hours now and i've had no responses to my emails or tickets. I've just lost a client who is fedup with having to let me know her site is down , YET AGAIN!
DO NOT use this provider if you want consistent uptime. Their claims of 99.9% uptime are completely false and misleading.
If you are looking for reliability for you or your customers, do yourself a favor and DON'T consider their budget reseller plan.
Server went down for over 3 full days in a row in May (longest of all since I was there), and they are still happily advertising "99.9% uptime!". This is simply not true. AVOID
This is the best hosting company that i have ever work with. I found them in the forums of sitepoint.com, one of the best references in the internet for webmasters, i have questions but i began to work with them and im very happy, believe when i tell you that i look for many days to find a trust hosting company, and ther are my best choice, dont even doubt it, work with them, their support is incredible!!!
RZ started out good, until the changes came into play.... first they suddenly changed their terms to no longer provide unlimited domains, EVEN if these domains were using 0mb-5mb just for parking site purposes. The terms just changed overnight.
Then they decide to overload their servers, WHOIS.sc says some servers host 20000 websites+, which is clearly unacceptable considering the server load is ALWAYS high, and the support team doesn't allow budget resellers to use their live support either (email is slow and they take a while to respond when it's down!)
Definately the worst experience i've had in a long time, and will NOT recommend it to anyone. Cheap, yes, support is there, but servers, reliability and peace of mind are all lacking.

Good pricing, is affordable for overseas customers considering the exchange rates sometime. Have never had my site down. They are constantly improving. I hope the will be around for a long time to come. I recommend them to everyone.
I would definately reccomend this host to anyone looking for a stable and reliable host for their reseller. I swear, my domain has only been down once and with the fantastic uptime I get I wasn't even angry about it. Plus customer service is usually fast and is always nice to me. A+.
I host for about 6 month now. Until about a month ago, my Perl
scripts are beginning aborting. Now, the situation are very
degraded, I can't use the Perl scripts. A real shame for a
dynamic site.
ResellerZoom.com is probably the best web host I have used so far. There prices are amazing, yet this does not mean that they are poor quality. They offer 24/7 support and when I moved to them, they moved all of my websites to their server for free and within hours of signing up.
They are relatively new, but they are a fully incorporated hosting company, not just some web host run by teenagers.
I recommend ResellerZoom.com to anyone who is looking for quality reseller hosting.
