At first they were OK although they've never had the best tech support and the control panel the use is not nearly as user friendly as cpanel.
But in the past few years, my sites have been repeatedly hacked despite changing passwords regularly and using long, complex passwords. After being hacked twice in two weeks, I signed up for SiteLock and their scan of the site indicated multiple security vulnerabilities on the hosting server and none on my website itself. Servage refuses to admit that their server has been hacked despite the independent results from SiteLock and the fact that the access log for my account indicates no unauthorized logins.
They have major security problems - do not use Servage!
Iīve been w/ Servage for only 2 months. Dozens of time my team, salesmen and clients reported unsuccessful attempts to reach my website. Theyīve transfered cluster without prior notice.
You just canīt talk to anybody by phone. TERRIBLE SERVICE, I WILL NEVER INDICATE. NOW I AM FIGHTING TO GET REFUND.
Servage is reasonabley priced and offers huge storage and transfer amounts.
However, they also suffer from the following issues which severly impact the quality of their service.
* Sluggish and slow behavior of MySQL databases
* Intermittent service outages
* Problems with email sending
* Changes in service levels without warning
- reduction of DB space
- email list limitations
* Friendly but mostly pointless customer service
- Getting a real resolution requires significant work from customer
Unfortunately, I cannot recommend choosing servage.
I chose Servage because it allowed adult content and liked the price. I am not that knowledgeable about computers or creating a website but found their web builder software easy to use and when I have found myself in difficulties the customer support was very good and dealt with my problems with efficiency and speed.
Nightmare host. Got my sites hacked - obviously it's my fault not theirs; got my database 'deleted'; The databases are on-line then off-line and so onn we play.
Tickets are always answered profesionally; they don't solve/check anything; they don't have back-ups; but they HAVE canned answers.
IPs are black-listed; yahoo and gmail refuses e-mails from me... then after months they barely fixed it.
I DO NOT RECCOMAND YOU TO USE THIS HOST even that the prices seem low. YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR.
We have been with servage for the entire hosting period and had nothing but problems.
* Mailservers are blacklisted (proven) - yet - servage say NO PROBLEM.
* They keep their data base UN-updated, sending utmost confidential material to the wrong address (proven)
* Yes you can cancel your account but what's the point? Since Servage has your credit card details (that must be one of the few things they keep in their database to remember) they will just keep charging you!
WE? We have taken steps to press fraud charges against this first class customer support hoting company and leave you with making your own decision whether or not you want to waste your time, money and business with Servage!
My reasons to use servage are; they have good price and allowed adult content.
But it cost lot of headache. So, stay away from servage, you have been warned! i never have bad experienced with hosting such servage before.
Here is:
1. FTP transfer is very very slow (Still acceptable)
2. Warning for Joomla! user, or anything else which use Mysql; the connection to database is very slow and i've ge lot of error to connect from my joomla backend admin.
3. It is the biggest problem i have, my joomla sites are slow to load (aprox. 17-30secs) and i lost traffic due to it.
4. My sites were down at least 4 times a week (or nearly unaccessable coz very slow to load).
5. Now, as i am writing, all of my sites are down, not 404, but really unknown URL; "Seiten-Laden fehler" (German). I sent support ticket to them, they said it is "Sorry for the inconvenience. We are aware of the problem you are facing. Our system administrators are working on it and the issue will get resolved shortly. We appreciate your patience." Yes i just complain to them for slow loading of my sites-- ah ja, do you know how many times i get this standard reply every time i've get problem with my sites?
Final review: If you plan to host some static pages, be happy to use them, they are cheap. But if you have plan to make complex sites and use database, you have been warned!
Lets face it, to look for a reliable hosting service is important, if you got a company to run even more. When I first started with Servage Hosting, a friend of mine recommended me to their services, before I was with a server hosting Company lack of speed, lack of service and to expensive. I switch to Servage. In the last couple of Years their were improving a lot. Even the Security Issue is now under control. If you have questions about your account you get a response in almost a second (I tried the English Support). Not speaking English good enough to explain your request? other language are available. The Price is more than ok for what you get. I started with 1 Server now I am using 4 of their servers. I am glad that switched to Servage.
Dont be fooled by the cheap prices and high bandwith allowance. Very slow loading of sites, slow and unreliable MySQL databases, you sites will be hacked on a semi regular basis and blamed on your "insecure scripts" by tech support and all email addresses associated with servage will be unable to send emails to several email providers such as Live, Hotmail and Yahoo! as the email server IP addresses seem to be on a blacklist. Also you are only able to use around 120gb in a day befor your account is susspended for the remaining time despite having a 5tb usage for the month which is not very useful for high viewing sites / hoting of files. What more can i say apart from you get what you pay for!
If your web sites show any error page for example 404, limit exceed etc. also show a advertiesement for servage. It is very annoying hosting compay that I have ever seen. Absolutely they are not customer-focused and not solution provider. Every time makes problems...
Approximately all of their replied message for problems tickets is maden by a problems again.
I remember that my web sites closed days and days because of Servage technical problems. They can move your web files from one server to another without any inform you before. Sometimes you can not connet MySQL servers because of other web sites owners bad enquiries, servage staff said.
If you like scramble with problems you also likes this company.

I have been a customer of Servage for over 2 years, and found their hosting package to be good value for money, their service levels are acceptable, and as such expect I to remain a customer of Servage for time to come.
I'm using Servage for more than a year now, and it's the best host that I ever experienced.
First of all, is there a host where you get so much webspace for such a small price? I looked for one and I couldn't find any.
Second of all, their service is great. I had a couple of problems with my CMS on my webspace. I placed a question and within a day it was fixed. After a couple of problems with it they updated their servers and I never had any problems using my CMS again.
So if your looking for a lot of webspace for a small price, Servage hosting is the place to be!
Great to start with, very poor as you get to know them. I have moved host and the difference is astounding. Servage seems to be OK with simple stuff, but whem it comes to e-commerce and SSl certificates etc it all goes wrong, they simply have not got a clue. I left after 3 months of trying to access (in less than a minute!) an ssl covered zencart. my new host it in the US and is so much better everything works!
pricing seems good at the start (just you wait) the problems they cause yet try and tell you it is your scripts etc...

First few technical questions were answered promptly, then on day 10 of my time with them I posted a question that did not get resolved for seven days. It was not that difficult and I found my own solution after 4 days. Servage came up with the same solution but only after the extra 3 days.
That is bad enough but the two main reasons for warning people away from are:
1. Their web site does not advertise the fact that their money back guarantee period is at truly paltry 5 (FIVE) days.
2. You can only contact them, no matter what the subject, through their support ticket system.
Having only the ticket systems as the one means of contacting them is bad but really unhelpful when you want to complain about the people who monitor that very ticket system!
I signed up and from day one i regret it with a Capital R. I couldn't cancel service from day 14 - one day shy of the policy because 5 of those days the server was down. I am constantly reverifying my Google sitemaps, I am exhausted. I can not for the life of me find one email of support except for sales to get a live person to answer an email. Can you believe - to just answer an email, there's not one live email address. For those thinking about joining, your business is at stake. For casual service, think again. They got something to hide. They have a local office and the telephone number is also unlisted. from Houston to Germany.....not one telephone number. Everything else is a bot mail. You've been warned.

Servage is (and really soon was...) my first experience in web hosting.
I can easily say that talking to their tech support is like having a conversation with a 1970's programmed A.I. The same questions and solutions are beeing said over and over again (since several people treat you tickets).
The main reason I'm looking for another web host is because the speed download reached abysmal performance these last weeks ( below 25kB/seconds)
According to their tech support, "everything's going fine on our side, please check with your ISP"...

I think there's a bit of pot-luck finding a good cluster - if someone has a monster site, it can drag everyone else's site down too.
I've been very lucky - I run reasonably complex PHP scripts all over my site - and at the most they take 0.7 seconds to complete, but usually more towards the 0.07 seconds side of it. And I'm doing on-the-fly Gzip compression of my website HTML too - that's fairly demanding also.
But Servage's server specs are very good - 12GB RAM/machine sounds good :-) Things are as blazing fast as anything with them.
I don't have any problems with their online file manager, site builder software, or WebDrive - because I don't use those. I use Evolution or Thunderbird for e-mail, FileZilla for FTP, and I write my own code using Gedit (notepad with syntax highlighting for Linux).
FTP is always very fast too.
Support e-mails do sometimes appear a bit rushed (spelling mistakes, grammar) but they do the job, and they're fast to reply, which is sometimes more important. I've only had to contact them once anyway, and the problem was my fault.
They're the best host I've used yet, and the price is right!
Ok here's it is, servage.net started out just fine.
One day all of a sudden my sites (3 of them) became inaccessible, it lasted about 3 days. I sent millions of tickets with questions, but it is funny that none of the answers I got pertains with any of my questions. It is like I am talkin about Paris Hilton's jail sentence, they talkin about War on IRAQ. but yes what happened is that, after three days of battling they admitted that my account was suspended due to excees bandwith usage (and no it was way below the allowed bandwith). and finally my sites became available again after about 4 days, Imagine this!
second big think, as I've been experiencing at this very moment, as I am writing this, and it still hasn't been resolved. Almost the same issue as above. pages don't load properly, images almost don't load at all, and yes this is same in all my web sites. It's been like 2 weeks already and nothing changed!

I have already moved out all my business out of Servage , after 2 years of nightmare experience with you. I'm sure other customer does, since your ready to give whatever cupon just to hold me. Too late guys. But before I leave, some feedback for your managers and directors, maybe they will reconsider their business before it will die.
First, maybe is good to mention as backbround I'm working in customer support of >10 years, and company I'm working for is one of the largest in the world in telecommunications (> 50000 employees). Second, the website hosted with you, I supported in my free time for a non profit community.
Overall: Servage was by far the worst hosting experience I had in last 10 years. Reasons below:
1) Customer support: Never had a competitive answer. Always vague, useless and helpless. Servage, get some professionals there, your guys can do probably cookies but not hosting support. They just suspended some e-mail functions several times and basically blocked this business. You never cared about customer business and business impact of your actions. I several times asked to be provided with a prove and reasons, and except once, every time you failed.
2) Suspended functions: You blocked functions I'm paying for without at least letting me know! Unbelievable. I had to get customer complains they don;t receive e-mail anymore to find out. I told you this twice, asked to speak to your supervisor, I've always been ignored. You simply don;t care.
3) Your slowness and oversubscription. My clients needed sometimes 5-20 sec to load the homepage. It was regularly during evening. I raised cases with you, you moved the account on different servers, but NO improvement. You were simply playing with me to keep me busy. I even had a 3rd party host monitoring software enabled for 1 month, and ready to provide you with results (>20 sec access time in evenings!!!), you never care about them. I even wonder if you poor support guys would even understand them.... I can tell my new host is 100 times better than you. And price is double, think about it. I guess you practice heavy oversubscription and those hundreds on Gigs exist on in your and some customer imaginations. But you link speed sucks... Useless to have tons of space & bandwidth if you can't use them.
Guys, I'm happy I'm out and wish you will wake up sooner than later. Nothing personal, but just honest feedback. These are my last 10 min I spent with Servage, and hope the most productive in my experience with them.
This company is a joke. You cannot call anyone or contact anyone important. Dealing with their customer service is extremely painful as they do not actually address your concerns or even read your email. They have very unreliable statistics that make no sense.
SERVAGE.NET UNILATERALLY BREACHES THE TOS.
While they induce you to enter into the TOS with them by offering lots of bandwidth and storage space, they invent arbitrary restrictions on traffic mentioned nowhere in the agreement. You won't know about these until you reach a few thousand uniques, at which point they shut your site down quickly and with very little warning.
Servage have several unusual features, not all of which are obvious until you've been with them a while, so I thought a review that concentrated on these features might help.
Summary
Pros: Lots of features for a reasonable price, including unusual ones like clustered (redundant) servers and storage for offsite backups. No silly limits. Simple and effective anti-spam system and webmail. Cons: Poor support, sloppy maintenance, no secure shell, no backups, no FrontPage server extensions, no log files, difficult migration.
Features and value
Servage is a European host offering just one simple shared-hosting package with no options, costing Ģ4.50/month in the UK (14 month package). Currently that includes a free domain, a generous 360 gigabytes of storage and 3600 gigabits/month of data transfer, 1000 mySQL databases and unlimited addon domains, subdomains, mailboxes, ftp accounts and mailing lists. It's possible to find similar features for half the price or for twice the price, so I guess that makes them mid-range. They don't offer dedicated hosting or reseller accounts.
If you're anywhere near those usage limits you will probably be using more CPU time than any shared-hosting provider could allow anyway, so in a sense the limits are irrelevant. Illegal content, IRC servers and spam are forbidden, but otherwise there are few other restrictions - for example, adult content and media archives are allowed.
Domain registrations and SSL certificates are also available but are not cheap. They used to offer an "Eco-hosting" option but that has been withdrawn. There's a worthless "Website Builder" and a "WebDrive" utility that doesn't work included. There's only a 5-day money-back guarantee, which is ludicrously short. If you want a trial, purchase the minimum 3 month membership. There's a referral scheme which gives you two months of free hosting for every new referred customer. An unusual feature is that SMS alerts can be purchased for new e-mails and other warnings.
Clustering
Servage hosting is "clustered", which means that your web pages will be held on several identical machines, any one of which can fail or become overloaded without greatly affecting the others, in theory. Mail and databases are served from separate redundant machines as well. Most hosting companies have redundant network connections and power supplies, but at Servage nearly everything is redundant, which is an excellent principle.
In practice, I still experience occasional timeouts or even loss of service almost every month, but less frequently than at previous hosts and on the whole I think clustering is a great idea. It does have some disadvantages, though:
. No log files. This means no webalizer or awstats. Basic statistics (recent hits, referers and search terms for the last week) are available in the control panel, but you will probably want to install something like "tracewatch" for more comprehensive data. Data generally needs to be stored in databases rather than simple "flat" files. Debugging scripts can be difficult without error logs.
. No secure shell (SSH). This means you can't directly run installation and patching scripts, search files, add PHP plugins, zip up whole directories or copy them to another server, set arbitrary CRON jobs and so on. You can ask support people to do all this for you, but this takes days and is error-prone. One big benefit though is that other inexperienced or selfish users can't slow down your server or hack your pages so easily. After bad experiences at hosts that allow SSH access, I'm beginning to think it's better not to allow it anyway.
. Propagation delays. Configuration changes such as password-protecting a directory or disabling PHP "safe mode" can take up to 3 hours to take effect, which can be frustrating.
Storage
Servage are unusually generous with storage space and actually encourage you to use it for external storage of personal files. Most other shared-hosting companies prohibit or restrict this - a common limit is a maximum of "50,000 inodes". This may seem like a lot, but I found that common installations like phpBB or Gallery can use thousands of files each, quickly reaching the limit. For me, this is one of Servage's best features.
Apparently, allowing large numbers of small files can cause backups to fail, but Servage do NOT perform backups so maybe that's how they can allow this. This does mean that you have to be careful to keep your own backups though.
Support
Servage claim to offer 24/7 support (e-mail only) with an average response time of 20 minutes and 96% customer satisfaction, but that has not been my experience. In fact, they told me they measure response time only up to their first response, which is a classic example of a bad metric driving the wrong behaviour. Responses are often "brain-dead" (sometimes comically so) and they don't read the history so discussions go around in circles. Problems typically take half a dozen messages and a couple of days to solve - they took more than a week just to unzip my transferred files for me. Their English is poor and it can be EXTREMELY frustrating trying to get them to acknowledge a problem. There's no user forum. There is an FAQ system but it is full of obvious errors and typos (as is their website) - sloppy, sloppy, sloppy.
I would rate their support "very poor", except that they're always polite and they do solve really simple problems quickly so I'll make it just "poor". Definitely an area they could improve.
Reliability
The most common problem I've experienced is intermittent page timeouts. You try to load a page, and about one time in ten there's a pause for about a minute, then you get a white screen (in Firefox). If you press F5 the page then loads quickly. They moved me to a new server (all sites down for 12 hours but otherwise quite a smooth move) and the problem went away for several days, then it returned and I raised a ticket and a couple of days later it went away again. At the moment it's OK. I've also experienced continuing intermittent SFTP problems and I couldn't get WebDrive to work reliably at all (probably a related problem). I've heard anecdotally that mySQL connections sometimes fail but my sites are low-traffic "hobby" sites and I haven't noticed this.
Looking at the tickets I've raised (more than one a week) I've experienced random problems such as extra characters appearing in filemanager edits and messages sent by sendmail, subdomains suddenly not resolving, the server time being wrong by 7 minutes, sudden inability to add a particular domain or a mail forwarder, mySQL imports not working, smtp mail failure and a database corruption, all within the last couple of months. Some of these do indicate poor testing and sloppiness by the people who maintain the servers, which is an area I think they could improve. Not long ago they suffered a total power failure, which is pretty inexcusable for a hosting company these days.
Spam filtering and mail
Servage don't offer the usual SpamAssassin (it probably wouldn't work on clusters) or procmail but they do have the surprisingly effective "greylisting" system. This initially refuses unknown mail with a temporary rejection. Legitimate mail servers retry 10 minutes later and the mail is then whitelisted. Spammers rarely retry like this and are blocked. I would have thought all those "botnets" would retry and get through, but apparently they don't (yet!) because it works pretty well. The only disadvantage is the initial 10-minute delay, which is occasionally annoying. There's also a system called "FMX" and a "validation" system and whitelists and blacklists that can be used for spam filtering.
The webmail system (Squirrelmail) has two unusual features. The first is that it uses standard ports (80 or 443) rather than the non-standard 2095 that cPanel uses, which often gets blocked by corporate firewalls. The second is that it incorporates a Bayesian spam filter that I have found to be extremely effective - better than 99%, with almost no false positives. I wish all hosting companies used this.
Mail forwarders can be set up, but only to 5 destinations (unless you "chain" them), which is a bit restrictive - not big enough for a typical committee, for example. There is a mailing list feature that could be used for larger groups, but it only handles "announcement" lists. If you want to set up a "discussion list" like mailman (receiving messages from e-mail, not just a web form) you will have to install something like Dada Mail. This works, but messages can take over an hour to send because they rely on a CRON job and the maximum CRON frequency is hourly (using 24 "daily" jobs set at different times!). The mail sending limit is a generous 100 messages a minute.
Control Panel
Standard panels like cPanel won't work with clustering and Servage have written their own. It's nice and clean though and has most of the usual features.
There's no Fantastico, but there is an equivalent system to help with script installation. It doesn't do upgrades or deinstallations and doesn't support quite as many applications as Fantastico but it works.
The file manager has some strange limitations - for example, you can't copy files, you can only move them (presumably to avoid CPU load) and you can't edit a file unless it has a .txt or .html extension, but it works.
Subdomains can be anywhere - they don't have to be directly under the root of the main domain. Settings like "safe mode" and "register_globals" can be configured differently for each domain, which is convenient.
Frontpage server extensions are NOT supported, despite the claim on their website. You can use FrontPage in FTP mode, but it takes a LONG time to find the changed files on a large site. FrontPage extensions cause a lot of problems so they've probably made the right decision to abandon them, but their advertising should be more honest here.
Migration
Migrating to Servage took significantly more effort than usual. I had to zip up my files and ftp them over, then wait several days for support to unzip them. I had to manually re-enter more than 100 mail forwarders (their control panel can't import filters) then change the nameservers of all my domains. I had to manually recreate all my databases, and find and change all configured path references (no longer just "localhost" or "/usr/bin"). I had to modify my sites and editing environment to cope with the absence of FrontPage extensions. I had to find and install suitable replacements for mailman and awstats. I had to raise several tickets to get misconfigurations corrected. It could have been a lot easier.
To all out there who have a 5 page static webpage and all so happy with servage, congratulation.
To the rest, who, indeed need to WORK with a host, a simple suggestion, don't even look at sergage.net
I have a serious problem regarding "RECEIVING" email at servage's "WEBMAIL" (which is just the tip of the iceberg). The problem is I have Chinese clients sending me mail in -YES - CHINESE language. Every other mail client you can configure these days to read GB2313 (Chinese characters) ... Servage - NO. Worse - it took me 12 tickets arguing with servage because they blamed anyone else, trying to take me for a rodeo, hoping to shake me off, talking about someting I never mentioned etc, etc, before they FINALLY admitted.
I know - people have MBA's these days in masses and they are all EXPERTS ... in what? Misleading and misguiding etc.
End of story - Servage get's a 0 out of 5 and a big warning to others - think more than twice.
As far as shared hosting goes, Servage is not a bad choice. I've been with various other shared hosting companies, and Servage is by far the best one I've been on.
Keep in mind that ALL shared hosts have hidden system settings (max # of hits, etc...). Servage will not fit everyones needs, as they have many more restrictions than most. Examples would be - daily max hits = 400,000 or max hourly mysql updates = 20,000
Basic websites & simplistic websites with little traffic will run nicely here (as with just about any shared host). You CANNOT rely on shared hosting companies to run largely trafficed websites or very complex server intensive sites & to do such then call them a bad host is idiotic.
Overall, Servage is a nice shared host if your site's needs fit their plan.
One day. I lasted one day. And I'm cutting my losses. I wish I had read these reviews before I forked over my money. The people giving them all those fives must have never had any problems. To be fair, they did fix my first problem. I sent a test email to the site to see if it was up, never arrived. Came back undeliverable. I submitted a help ticket and they had it fixed in about two hours. Okay.
Included with the deal is Website Builder and this should have been my first tip off, as it comes with zero help or documentation. There are about a dozen tutorials, on their site, but they are really simplistic, little more than "To save your page, click the Save button." To make a long story short, what I was getting on the program was not showing up in the preview or the website. I submitted another help ticket, which still has received a reply.
I messed around with it some more to no avail. Finally I sent another ticked asking if they could recommend other software. They replied to this one, saying they were sorry but, no, they couldn't.
I sent an email to the company, telling them their newest customer was unhappy, came back undeliverable.
stay out of servage. their offer look appealing but be prepare to have many headhackes. my university use a T1 connection and trust me it take sometime 30 seconds you heard right 30 second to load my site. and all the answer they have for the downtime and slow time is that a cable was broken only God knows where.
guys keep away from them especially if you use Joomla or mambo CMS actually any other Mysql based website
Site has been online and offline now since I've started my service with Servage.net. There reliability is horrible. My site will be up one day and down the next. I have lost almost half of my traffic due to there problems. Stay away from Servage if you need reliability!

I am having a couple of sites with Servage Hosting from past 18 months and there is no real issue as described. I too used to face some problem with PHP & MySql but after their latest upgrade of PHP v5.2.1 and MySQL v5 its all good.
The advantage of being hosted with servage.net is that I have not seen my site down since long time thanks to their clustered servers. My previous host had a limited bandwidth and storage space which restricted me in keeping my site small. Servage allows me that freedom with ample of bandwidth and disk space at affordable rates. So it just suggests that they cannot be termed as a bad hosting company.
If something sounds too good to be true, it almost always is. That's definitely the case with Servage. I tranferred several domains to them on the advice of a friend who had been using them for a month. As of now, we're both regretting the decision to purchase.
The first thing you notice off the bat is how slow the FTP transfers are for loading your site content (my guess is they're throttled back intentionally). If you've got any databases to import, don't bother with their custom utility for doing so as I was never able to get that to work (just use phpMyAdmin's query utility).
While it is true that Servage's support team answer tickets pretty quickly, the help they offer is rarely adequate. Case in point: my forum debacle. I have a site that runs both a Wiki and a Forum off of a MySQL database. Servage is so cheap with the amount of resources they allocate, my forum would bomb-out anytime there were more than 8 or 10 people viewing/posting. I offered to pay for more resources, but they refused. So I ended up pulling my most intense sites off their service.
If you've got a lot of patience and a simple site that doesn't change much or receive much traffic, Servage is okay for this. The minute you get more complex or use, you'll be pulling your hair out.
I hosted a few sites with servage.net for most of the time I could not fault them, well there support team. In six months I issued 47 support tickets. there servers do not like php & mysql one bit. They did try to blame the scripts, but the scripts I ran are running on 1000's of website with no reported issues.
Servage have a very good support responce time, but getting problems fixed is a very different matter. They over sell knowing both bandwidth and storage (310GB webspace and 3000GB bandwidth for Ģ4.50 a month + VAT )... will never be used.
But what seems a very good deal does not relate for up to 62 seconds for a 98Kb php page to load on a 8Mb broadband connection, thats if it does not time out first.
If your just looking for hosting static pages then servage would be ok but if your wishing to host php mysql leave well alone.
So this HOSTING its the big SHIT in the net, i buy an account with them, i start to upload videos, then in less than a week, i can not enter to my control panel, and the ftp i have aaces, when i enter to the ftp, ALL my sites and videos and all files are GONA, all deleted, and all the sites hosted in that damn shit, where from clients, YOU just tellme if i had 10 clients whit webs, THEY inmediatly contact me to say that his site wans online... SO i tried to arragne but i was unable to enter to my control panel, THE ONLY IN WHAT I THINK WAS, "THEY BEEN HACKED," then i contact them, and THEY said: You was using so mcuh bandwith more than we offer so we D.E.L.E.T.E. your account... GOD! they even send me an email saying that they just DELETE it, without no warning... all my money my databases and sites THEY keep it in my account wich one its active but they change the USERNAME and PASSWORD... THEY have ya coount my domains, THEY DON DELETE THEM they keep them, NEVER please NEVER buy an account with them, you will have a LOT OF PROBLEMS... i hate them, i just want they all die and a big rock from heaven make divine justice and destroy all their hosting places... i wish them death... Definitely not the best but they are alright. They recently got hacked but already cleared it up. There support team could be better. I would recommend them to anyone that doesn't require a lot of resources or php and mySQL.
While Servage offers potentially good performance and high storage capacities at low prices, I would not recommend their service - let me tell you about the 2 problems I had with them in the past months.
Problem 1:
I used to use their IMAP servers as a repository. I worked very well, but one day all emails older than a few hours were gone from the client. Strange, I thought, and logged on to their webmail. Same thing - no older emails there. Since I have a local backup of the archive it wasn't such a nightmare (except for several hours spent restoring and configuring), but I contacted Servage support to find out what happened. After all, a service provider has log files, right?
Since my local mail client does not keep a log file, I assumed one of 2 things had happened:
1) Local mail client decides to go berserk and delete 2GB worth of emails from the local filesystem and the IMAP server. In over 10 years of using IMAP I have never seen or heard such a thing, but you never know.
2) Servage decides they will move or delete 2GB of my data without notification. Highly unlikely.
Problem 2:
Last night, I wanted to show someone a simple portfolio site I made for a friend.
"Account Suspended
This account has been suspended for non-payment."
Nice. I don't really use Servage these days, as I only signed up for it for IMAP storage. I have 2 or 3 mini-sites though. This is one of them.
The credit card obviously expired in January, and I forgot to manually update billing details on Servage's website. EVERY company allowing automatic billing cycles and credit cards has mechanisms in place to communicate to the customer upcoming credit card expirations. EVERY company will warn you when your account is about to expire for whatever reason. This is true for utilities, phone, internet, insurance and so on.
Servage has not sent a single piece of communication about this. Suddenly, your service is gone.
I'm glad Servage is not in the electricity service business.
I have been hosting mysql websites on Servage since they started out (I think). They allow me to host an unlimited number of domain/websites on just one account which is great.
I have grown with the hosting and they have grown with me. I'm now pulling thousand GB/month and my forum has about 300 users online in peek hours and I have never experienced problems.
When hosting a high load site as mine it is important to keep the database coding optimized. I'm fairly sure that it is not Servages fault that some of the other webmasters in the thread has problems. Did they even try to optimize the coding?
Servage is a great host and I have refered many friends to them and none of us have ever experienced any problems. According to the lists I have seen they are one of the fastest growing hosting companies in the world which is most likely the reason other hosts does not like them :-)
I highly recommend Servage for all types of sites!
It's not the worst host ever, but certainly not the best. If you need a filehost or html host only it's top notch i guess, but anyone that needs a sql database better searches for something better
If there are between 80-130 users online there are sql errors and downtimes all over the place. I asked several times, if there were upgrade options, but those questions were completely ignored. Even when there aren't that many visitors, sometimes (at least once a day) the sql servers stop responding for a minute or two.
It's a good host for learning, not for a website with (lots of) visitors.
Their support is nice and fast for the rest, but that's about it.
I've been using Servage since June 06 to park a couple domains while I procrastinate developing them (sound familiar?). So far, everything has been fine - but considering the fact that they specifically advertise to 'high volume' clients as well as normal users I'm wondering what would happen if I suddenly began transferring 1500 gigs out of my 2100 gig theoretical limit every month.
I've heard of people having trouble with PHP-based sites - they get wierd errors and the apps won't work correctly despite working in other locations, or the host shuts the site down for using too much CPU time. I've been running a small PHPBB board with up to 20 concurrent users without incident since I began working with Servage, so I suspect that these problems may only occur with a larger number of users.
I'm still a little wary of testing the upper limit of their hosting service, but I will say that when I needed to distribute the latest WoW patch to a raiding guild the 500 GB of transfer over 3 days didn't end me up in hot water with the host. As far as people saying they have a good transfer rate.. well, I have to assume these people are on dial up or closer to the hosts physical location. My WoW guild is distributed throughout America and uses a variety of cable and DSL providers. They experienced download speeds averaging 60 kbps, which is only a fraction of what the lines are capable of.
In my experience customer service and ease of use are are the high points for this host, and the low file transfer speed is acceptable considering the price. The only issue which really bothers me is the degree of latency encountered when loading my site. It's a simple placeholder with a 50kb graphic, yet I invariably have to watch the graphic load when visiting the page. This seems to conflict with other reviews posted here, but has been a constant throughout my time with the host.
servage.net stealing my bandwidth deep linking my streaming entertainment,stealing my copyright. My story: A teen gay hardcore porn website that welcomes ages 13 and up called redneckboy.com stole my website, and streaming audio player links and put it on their website. Servage.net web hosts for redneckboy.com which the theme is "dads on boys" and "truckers raping boy hitchhikers". When servage.net was notified several times they finally promised to remove my website from this horrible legal line walking teen/gay hardcore website. A week later they still have not removed it. People claim the owner of the website stealing,hotlinking and deep linking our site and audio feeds had died. No response from redneckboy.com. When Steffan Fallesen owner of servage.net was asked why he would not remove our stolen material from his server he replies, "Contact the owner of the website". This after servage.net Patricia Feddersen said "we will remove your material from their website in a few hours, and if it is not removed then we will personally remove it." She lied or Steffan Fallesen told her not to remove our stolen material.
Since they have stolen my website I have 13-16 year old children coming to my website looking for sex with truckers. Server logs and voip logs indicate these deep link theft come from servage.net server hosted for redneckboy.com. My site is about cb and ham radio, not trucker rape and dads on boys. Servage.net is more worried about 6 dollars a months from perverts then stopping internet crime and theft of intellectual property. We sent servage.net our server logs and direct links to our website and streaming audio stolen from us on there servers and they do nothing. Even though my stolen website is on his server he refuses to remove it. So then when I go to redneckboy.com to investigate further, I find that Steffan S. Fallesen is a member of redneckboy.com. Turns out I have been scammed. So untul I get better and hosting my own site these thieves at servage.net will drain my bandwidth and keep my intelluctual property on their server so online sexual predators can enjoy it. Just my luck.

I've been with servage for 5 months now, and only had 2 small bits of downtime, (dos on another site on the same box).

Their prices are excellent, and they have recently lowered it even more.
Features:
Very very good! the only way i would improve this is for them to turn safe mode off.
Admin Panel:
Their admin panel leaves alot to be desired, however they say they're currently updating it.
Speed:
A little slow, I get around 140-190kbps where as on microsoft.com i get 220kbps+, but you cant complain for the price.
Value for money:
Excellent, the Pros FAR outweigh the few cons.
Servage is the best host I have ever used! I was constantly getting kicked out from the last hosts that I have used as I use quite a lot of transfer and disk space.
Currently I use ~1700 GB per month. I even asked Servage once if it was a problem and they replied that I was welcome to use even more ressources! Sites load fast and the support is super - if you hear otherwise it must be from their competitors!
This host is a lie. If you have a php site with more than 400 visitors/day, they will kick you off. I had this problem two times at servage with basics php sites that I made myself. They said that I use a lot of cpu. This is not true because my websites are to basics. This HOST is a big lie. If you have a website that can uses like 20% of the resources that servage offer you musn't host there, because they will find a reason to kick you off. Other problem is that they keep moving you cluster to cluster. In 1 year they moved me many times. They changed my homedir and because of that some of my phpcode broked and I had problens in my website. I dont know how they calculate the bandwidht that a web site uses, but in my case, at servage, I was using like 40/gb day, which is a VERY VERY larger bandwidht for a website like mine. When I moved this web to a dedicated server with 100mb connection, the awstats said that we uses 5gb/day. So I think that they have problem to monitor the bandwidth.
So, if you have a big site dont host it at servage or you will have problens. And if you have a small one, you can get a host with cpanel for the same prince. The only thing that I like at servage was the support. The rest is terrible.
I have hosted websites for years mostly within the USA, with various hosting companies and usually paid around Ģ20-Ģ30 a month for 150Gb Transfer / 50Gb Hard Disk Etc. Hosting websites in the UK is expensive as fibre optic connections are very rare and just for a Dedicated Business line with BT this would cost a fortune. I was suprised to see Servage could offer 2100Gb Transfer with 250Gb Hard Disk for Ģ5.25 a month, esp for Virtual Hosting, Usually these sort of specifications are for dedicated lines.
Overall the Servage Hosting Provider is the best around within the UK. They even host adult sites and with currently 61,000 websites hosted, yes sometimes your site might go offline for 5-10 minutes but what can you expect for Ģ5.25 a month. The Control Panel is custom built unlike Cpanel and Plesk which has limited feature's.
For those who have give negative reviews you guys might have had some bad luck or your hosting files which are to big for download.
I have been with Servage for +3 years now and they has gone from "Good" to "Great++"!
They are able to handle my 12 million pageviews per month without any probelms. Servers are always fast and I have not noticed any downtime at all while hosted with them.
I currently use around 1800 GB transfer per month + 180 GB disk space and they have never complained.
You will never find a better host than Servage.net. The 95% of the bad reveiews that you can is submitted by their competitors!
I bought a year with Servage in early 2005, and I haven't regretted it for a moment. I'd been with several hosts before, and none of them even comes close to Servage. In the last year and a half I've been upgraded more times that I can remember, and thanks to their referrer system I've earned 22 free months of hosting.
When I had a problem I contacted them and it was fixed within 24 hours, and when I was confused about some of the more technical aspects of an upgrade they took the time to explain them.
I recommend these guys to everyone. And not just because I get two free months when someone uses my coupon code. They really are the best.
We opened an account on 07.12.2006, 2100GB traffic was more than we'd ever need. We had 30,000 pageviews with 5 hits each to the site producing less than 2GB traffic, but their measurement system it's 16GB. Still well within 2100GB/month. They sent an E-mail asking us to reduce traffic!
We respondes within hours asking why since we were well within limits and what we could do, they respond WITHOUT WARNING with suspending the account, and we lost hundreds of clients while waiting for Registrar to update DNS (takes hours for DNS world wide to get updated).
Though a DNS change within 1 hour reduces traffic with 80%, they refused to respond to let our pages stay up. We asked if they'd kindly let our page up as a redirect, they simply did not respond.
More dishonest service is hard to find. If you have very low traffic, it may work ok. But their ads are incorrect and they should be closed by a court for such behavior.
Perfect webhosting. The upload/download speed is just thumb up. The space and the amount of transfer per month is overwhelming. No other host can offers this much space and bandwidth.
Some time ago someone wrote: "Servage really sucks with its mysql limits(max_updates and max_questions). Be careful choosing this hosting provider, because if you expect more than 100 unique users per hour some day your site will be down too often because of these limits. That's on average using any up-to-date CMS, phpBB or any other open-source software which requires mysql."
I should have read this before i paid for 1 year - because i installed JOOMLA 1.0 and got the same bullshit. They don't increase this value and my webite visitors get error messages instead of my websites several times per day.
Last time I hosted my web was at yahoo.com, isn't bad at all but the space was a bit harsh for me since I need more than 10 GB for my files. I spend months searching for other hostings which should be better than the one I currently have now. I read a lot of reviews on webhostingjury and others website as well about servage.net hosting. I found it very decent review. I finally signed up and transfered my domain to servage. It just took a few days before my domain was completely transfered. The download speed was just perfect. I should say it's better than at yahoo hosting. The space was huge, 250 GB @ 2100 GB transfer/month for just $7.50/month. Where should you get that kind of offer?
Ok. It's a bit obvious that this host will scam you out of your money.
Here's why. Why would a company pay about $130-$200 dollars just for you signing up and paying them $7.50 a month? They would be offering a huge hard drive per person, so obviously they are overselling.

Having perused the previous reviews, I thought it best to add a review having been a long-term customer.
I have been with some shoddy hosts in the past (infinology anyone?) and got tired of my site or email always being down.
Found and signed up with servage in January 2004 - and am still there.
9 months ago, I started having some reliability issues on several blogs I host for friends, when I contacted support they advised my "cluster" was due to be decommissioned and that they would move me and give me a month free for the trouble. That was a painless exercise with no effort required from me.
Only ever had 1 bad amount of downtime total 10 hours, not the hosts fault.
Speed/response times to/from Australia aren't too bad - and the guys at Servage are fairly liberal in what they allow you to have on your server (legal, adult images & your own uncopyrighted music) This stems from them being European and not so focused on political correctness.
Servage would be best used by intermediate/veteran web users. My sites size is about 8gb and shared between 8 friends, no complaints from a happy customer!

They use clustered servers, so when a visitor connects to your site they will enter the fastest server available. I'm always downloading on top speed so speed isn't a problem at all :D
In December 2006 - I would have been with Servage for 2 years. During those two years I have never had a problem. I currently, have 7 sites in my account and room for 100 sites if I need to add them.
Everything is good! When I need help which is seldom I use the ticket system and receive an answer within 24 hours or less.
I once had a problem with an old credit card that I forgot to update and email them with my problem and they gave me 3 weeks to fix the problem with my bank. I never had a company willing to wait for payment. For that action I give them much respect!
For all you people who have to piss on everything just to make yourself feel better. You need to go back to school and learn how to become a web master and quit kidding yourself.
You need a certain level of skill to use a remote server and if you have trouble with Servage. I would not blame Servage for your lack of professionalism and skill.

I have recently signed up to Servage.net and found them to be a very good host so far. I was a little worried having read some bad reviews but for the price and package I thought I'd risk it and give them a try. I paid via PayPal just to make sure that they can't automatically recharge me if things go wrong but I don't think thats going to be an issue.
So far they seem very reliable, fast and user friendly. The control panel is not as pretty as some but is very easy to use and gives you everything you need. The package seems virtually limitless and the price is great!!

After using several different small webhosts with limited space I ran across Servage. I've read reviews about speed and reliability issues but gave it a shot and haven't experienced any such. Maybe I'm just lucky or others have been unlucky...
The setup time was, more or less, instantaneous, something like 5 minutes after I requested an account. The custom controlpanel works very good and you even have the option to modify zone-files yourself if the need would arise. Also the supportticket system seems to work really good, the times I've needed some general help I've gotten a response in less than 1 hour. I think that's ok for such a big host.
The space you may use is monstrous! I'm using it as a general backup space for important files as well. Up and download speeds are good, I max out my 2 mbit internet connection every time.
The bad reviews I've seen about Servage mostly handles the fact that they DO have limits for the usage. Bandwidth and space is defined clearly (110gb space and 37gb transfer/day), but what some people complain about is the fact that they cap the daily scripts-executions to 300,000. That's A LOT, but certainly not enough if you plan to use it for a commercial xxx-site. They have special solutions for LARGE sites, otherwise you should look for dedicated hosting instead where you are allowed to use up all resources without troubling someone else.

Servage is excellent on price, storage space and bandwidth. Even the customer srvices are good. That's the good points over though. I have been a customer for some seven months now, and in that time I have received three 'high server load' warnings. The last time I asked them to explain what the problem was as my unique count was around 1000. They advised that the problem lies with my pageviews which amounted to 300,000. My pageviews today read one third that amount at just over 100,000, 15.53gb of transfer used and just over 120mb of webspace used, and yet today I recieve another 'high server load' warning. I have now posed the question, how is it possible to use 110gb of webspace and 1110gb of monthly bandwidth. It's all very well offering these fantastic facilities but, if you can't use them it's pointless. As for the other reviewer who apparently read a mail by the owner of servage who said that it is expected to have negative feedback for such a large company. Rubbish, if they were that big they would be able to handle the traffic. I know from many other webmasters that I push less than 10% traffic than their sites do. It also seems that they have made enemys elsewhere, their site is being hacked often which causes downtime and potential loss of earnings.If you are site offering nothing but pages of text, then your on to winner.
Back in May i signed up for 6 months with servage. I was previously with GoDaddy's Economy Plan for a year but felt that i could do better, as my site started to get busier with them i noticed downtime and mysql servers being down more and more, and there Control Panel lacks many important features.
So i started looking around for more hosts. I looked around quite a lot on many review sites before i signed up with GoDaddy, i was looking at Dot5Hosting, BlueHost but decided to go with GoDaddy. So when i came to be looking again i looked back at these sites. That was when i discovered WHT and so found a lot of honest reviews about Dot5Hosting and BlueHost and that they both had problems.
Then i found a post about servage on here, i went to their site and saw about how they could almost guarantee 100% uptime using clustered servers, that and the high disk space and bandwidth made it a definate possiblity. So i started looking into reviews about them. I knew that it was obvious that they were overselling, but I knew that I wouldnt be using anywhere near the limits.
I looked for reviews around the internet, this confused me a lot as their were some very good and some very bad and i wasn't sure which to beleive. Then when i did another search on WHT i saw that someone else had noticed this and the owner? of servage had replied saying that you would not get a host as big as them without having some bad reviews accross the web, which made a lot of sense. So i finally decided to risk it and sign up for 6 month's with them. Also i'll say here that because they charge a setup fee if you signup for less than 6 month's its virtually the same in price if you sign up for the 3 month plan or 6 month.
Anyway, getting back on track, i signed up and was very impressed with the setup times. My account was ready within 10 minutes of signing up (on a saturday) aswell and my newly registered domain was propagating.
Throughout the 5 month's i have been with them, i have never experienced any down time whatsoever and neither have the users on my site. The support is also very good, i have only had to send off one support ticket that was about CPU usuage, which was responded to in no more than 2 hours. It would however be nice to have a live chat feature.
Upload speeds were also a lot faster than GoDaddy with me being able to upload at 50KB/S (which is the maximum by my ISP). Download speeds were also good with me being able to get abour 420KB/S which is higher than most websites i download from.
I also noticed a few weeks ago about the speed, i used a script to download a file from rapidshare, who are a file hosting company that claim to have a 45GB/S connection to their users. The 150MB file was downloaded within about 20 seconds ( i can't remember the excact speed ).
Another thing i noticed was that i could have 10 ftp connections per ftp user which was very nice for uploading lots of files.
So in conclusion i can say that i have been very impressed with servage. I know that there are a lot bad reviews about servage but from what i have experienced i can honestly say i have been very impressed with them.
I'm not a servage.net customer. But I'm researching them now.
Has anyone noticed, here and all over the Internet, there are postings that are obviously created by Servage.net staff. They're full of marketing language and include zero negative comments. Usually reviews at least include one or two negative comments.
Savage, if you're going to spam the internet with positive comments about your own service at least try to make them sound like a real person wrote them.
Also, spam faster. Even with all your obviously fake reviews, I was able to find real ones from real people upset with your service.
I signed up with servage a few weeks ago, and have nothing but good comments about them. any time i have had a query i get a reply (via a support ticket) within about 2hrs max, which is alot better than some hosts ive been with, not to mension the price they charge and the amount of storage space/bandwidth by far outweighs the competition!!!
I was given a code by a friend at work which gives 5000mb of extra space, he said he has tried some others when he signed up and they only offered 2500mb extra free, so give this one a try -> 'moremoremore'
We have placed an order with SERVAGE.NET, but right after that we sent them a priority email to cancel our order and asked them not to process it! They did anyway! Their email notified us that they received the order and they will send us the Login info when the account is ready.
We sent them two more letters again, filled out their available "test" support ticket system to request a cancellation and a refund, but the only answer we've got was next day that meanwhile they already set up our account and we should open a trouble ticket there!
We did, but they completely ignored all of our requests for a refund. They promise a 5 day refund on all accounts, but so far they ignored us, despite letters we sent to their Info - Support - Sales as well as the owner, Steffan Fallesen.
This business is a fly-by-night operation, they are just phishing for customers promising great service, but ignore any and all letters and requests when it comes down to their promised Refund, even in our case, when the account wasn't even set up yet, or was just processed after our specific request not to be processed!
Stay away from SERVAGE as far as possible!
Now we are considering taking actions against them in every possible way!
I just wanted to let you know how pleased I am being a Servage customer. I work in technology and collaborate with lots of other vendor support people, and never have I been so impressed with the response and quality on their support.

Support
Haven't had any real problems besides that imap has been out for a few hours for one time. Their control panel has also some docs/faq for most important questions, the docs are a bit sparse but sufficient most of the time
Speed
Seems to be good, get good response and d/l speeds with my ADSL2 connection to Servage. For FTP it seems servage caps the max download speed or it is just a coincidence it always seem to have the same speed.

I was very picky in choosing a webhosting company for my site, as i didnt want any problems as most people do. It took me a good month or so of researching before i decided on Servage. Now i am glad i chose them.
With their large space and bandwidth i dont have to worry about upgrading or worrying i'm running out of space. I have contacted their support on a number of occasions with a variety of different questions, and all of them have been sorted within the hour, first replies have been within 10minutes on some instances.
They have their own unique control panel which some may not prefer, but it has everything you need and easy to find. When i signed up i also opted for the free .eu domain which i now own myself, so if i do decide to leave Servage at any point, my domain stays with me and they have no rights to it, even though it was free.
They also have a great referral program where by if you recommend a friend to sign up with Servage you receive 2 Free months of hosting plus 5GB space added to your package. You can do this as many times as you want. I did this and now have close to 5 years of free hosting and now have over 250GB space on my account. Even though i will never use this space it was great receiving the free hosting. I now don't have to worry about paying for hosting for the near future.
With my 5 Years free hosting my first payment now equates to Ģ0.50/$0.90 per month thats an insane price for what i am getting.

Easy to manage and enough bandwidth and diskspace to replace your D.I.Y. server at home. Would like to see more extensive reporting/statistics for your websites. PHP5 is supported but unlike PHP4 it's done as CGI and thus noticably slower. HTTPS is also supported but only through their own certificate and thus an URL of servage instead of your own domain. Other good points are (beside the 75000+MB space and 1110GB traffic):

I have been using Servage for quite some time now and I must say that I only have good things to say about this host! They are fast, friendly and have good uptime.
I own a quite busy website with more than 100000 unique visitors per day and using approximately 900 GB transfer per month. I have never had a problem with their service and speeds have been perfect.
The largest part of my site is a quite busy phpBB forum and my main page is Joomla based. With my old host I had problems with the resource usage (mysql queries) but not with Servage they are simply perfect :)

Many of the post saying bad things about them are from their competitors. I know this for a fact as Ive seen it proved by other customer.
Servage really sucks with its mysql limits(max_updates and max_questions). Be careful choosing this hosting provider, because if you expect more than 100 unique users per hour some day your site will be down too often because of these limits. That's on average using any up-to-date CMS, phpBB or any other open-source software which requires mysql.
I've paid for one year, but there were too many breakdowns in the very beginning I couldn't stay with. I was asking for the refund - but they do not keep their promise - you'll never get your money bach if you're unhappy with the service. They just say "next time we will improve", and that's really is getting annoyng.
So now I have no money, no service, and just stayed with my previous hosting company. By the way, my database crashed the very first day on their servers without any reason, this has never happened to me before. Ok, I know I'm wasting too much time with it, so just keep in mind - servage is no more worth any attention.
Recently my account was moved to their newest cluster; Performance and load-times have gotten even better than they already were, so I'm more than happy with Servage, their huge specs are serving me very well and I don't understand the criticism some people post. Servage understands what you want with the web, and if there's something they CAN'T offer to you yet, they will die trying to get it done.

Their servers REALLY are clustered, so stats are not easy to provide the normal way, and read/write times can in some cases be different from what you're used to. Some types of queries give faster results, some might be slower than normal.
Recently some of their peers had networking/routing issues, causing some downtime for only some. Sprintlink, Eurorings, and Versatel were responsable there, so I can't really blame Servage for that. The few other issues I've had with them mostly stem from the fact that English isn't their native language. They respond extremely fast though.
In many aspects their tech people are amazingly smart and obviously like doing their work on open source free software systems. You get to enjoy technical freedoms at Servage you'll find nowhere else. I can use servage to host domains registered elsewhere, optionally use their nameservers, use the online filemanager if needed, have access to phpMyAdmin, and all systems run the newest versions available. And their e-mail setup has gotten a lot better too. You can enter white or blacklist entries overruling the spam-block etc. that way accepting Yahoo-groups mail-delivery etc. I'm actually glad they're not using SpamAssassin, it's way too complex to implement that on a reliable level for a hosting company as big as servage.
I would like to share my experience with servage with you. I have been hosted by the company for around a year or so and I really could not be more pleased.
I use my account for email, website and database. Their servers are stable and fast. I never has any problems with them. no downtimeor anything like that.

They do have a few tiny weak spots;
Their connection to the world pretty much depends on their Versatel peering. If this huge ISP has network or routing problems (and they DO have them with peering providers), Servage claims the downtime caused is not their fault. Technically it isn't, but if you'd want to be the reliable cluster-serving hoster you say you are, you'd have another direct link with a totally independent backbone somewhere. Preferably also one that has a faster link with Australia and China.
The few issues I've had with them mostly stem from their often strange English reading and writing skills, and their somewhat impersonal attitude or lack of clarity or understanding on the subject at hand. They respond extremely fast, usually when you expect they will. You'll learn to see the loop-holes in their support: As with MOST hosting companies, they pretend to be nice and friendly, yet remain robotic and distant as soon as real problems or limitations surface. Then they suddenly end up being human, and can be incapable of hiding their emotional involvement in mistakes they make. They always apologize for them though, especially when they realize you're not the noob they thought you were.
Either way, they should hire someone to rewrite ALL their documentation and wording on their web site. They could use a screener for their support responses (to check them for possible grammar mistakes), they should take a little more time before clicking Send on their replies. Mistake after mistake can be made, just because they assume every customer is the same. None of us are ;)
All considered, you get to enjoy technical freedoms at Servage you'll find nowhere else! In many aspects their tech people are amazingly smart and love doing their work on open source free software systems. While hosting with them, you'll often wonder why other hosters are so expensive and why they don't offer the same options.
So, if you can deal with all that, you'll be happy at Servage. If you're easily insulted or have a very weak ego, maybe it's better to avoid them. They don't mean you harm, but its hard to find out what kind of person you're dealing with in your communication with them, and it gets easy to be blunt and harsh towards them, even if they don't deserve it.
I have been with 4-5 hosts the last year before I switched to Servage. I have been amazed how great there quality of service is!

Personally I think that the bad reviews are written by scarred competitors to Servage as I heard in the news that Servage is one of the worlds fastest growing webhosting companies.
Servage are the best host I've ever been with. They are just so solid and there support is great. They offer 1110Gb of bandwidth which is unreal. I have two accounts with them and I use the full 1110Gb on both accounts and they're as solid as anything.
The ONLY downsides I would say they has is that um, well, they don' have any downsides.

1) Plenty of bandwidth & disk space. Far more than we've used.
2) Support respond quite quickly - usually within 3 hours (daytime).
3) Support are helpful when they can be, as long as they understand the problem. They will offer solutions if they already have them prepared.
4) OK Control Panel. It's their own system... It's ok.
Problems
---------
1) Support:
a) Support often ignore things they don't want to address. They always respond to tickets, but sometimes they misread them, miss bits out, or assume you don't know what you're talking about.
b) I opened a ticket asking them to telephone me to discuss the many problems we'd experienced and they flatly refused, despite 5 requests and extremely good reason. I also wanted to discuss buying a dedicated cluser from them, and mentioned this - but they didn't seem interested enough to ring me - even though I practically begged them.
c) No prioritisation of tickets. If your site is down - there's no way to indicate that.
2) Spam filtering:
a) Basic spam protection is rubbish - I now get about 5 times as much spam as I used to on a different account.
b) 'Advanced' filtering requires sender to confirm themselves by clicking a link - this precludes getting any email from legitimate bots.
c) I asked if they would install Spam Assassin which is the 'industry standard', it is free, excellent and would reduce spam massively - and they said 'no'.
3) Poor performance:
a) We have experienced extremely slow page load times - ostensibly due to an abusive user, whose account was apparently revoked (had to ask twice to find out what the problem was).
b) I asked them about partitioning processor time to prevent this, at least twice, and they ignored me. Servage offered to move the account to a different cluster - but there's no guarantee it couldn't happen again.
c) Poor performance occurred several times - including once during a demo to a customer - which looked terrible. Performance has been better recently - but the site still occasionally hangs with page load times of 3-30s.
Update: This has improved, but it's still no rocket - they said it was a problem with a downstream provider...
4) Run out of disk space
At one point I was unable to upload to the site - giving the error '550 doc: No space left on device'. This could have caused the websites to go down, but fortunately didn't. This was due to an erroneous limit apparently.
5) Site down for 3 hours
Despite the testimonial on their site claiming 'Two years and no downtime' - all the sites on my account were down for about 3 hours (and returning a 404) and the account has only been open about 6 weeks. I pointed out that this claim was quite misleading and that they should remove it - and they ignored me.
6) MySQL Limits
Servage have set limits on the number of transactions you can make per hour in MySQL: 72000 queries / 36000 inserts/updates per hour. This sounds like a reasonable way to prevent 'excess' use of the account - unless you need to import / export data from the database...
My client experienced a problem where the limit was passed during an import and this the brought the whole website down for the next hour.
The import did not use excessive resources and completed within 20s.
We had to point out that this limit was not defined in the T+Cs and demand a refund before Servage deigned to increase the limits (a bit). This was particularly annoying as they treated us like idiots up to this point.
Later they reduced the limits without informing us - causing the site to go down again.
7) Disappearing data
One of (a different) client's databases suddenly lost all it's data. There was also another problem with the account which prevented PHP from working as expected. The data problem was only resolved by reloading a backup into the DB. After several hours the other problem to resolved itself (I was too busy working elsewhere at the time). This has only happened once, but the site had only been up for 2 weeks.
Had to spend time re-wriing the data that was lost today - not the most rewarding passtime in the world...
8) Missing emails.
Both emails sent to a forwarder, and those sent by the website machinery intermittently never arrived. They moved us to a different email server - from which point the forwarder didn't work at all.
9) Catastrophic Failure: 4 hours downtime - and counting.
The final straw - as I write this - is that the whole servage network has been out all day. All my websites, my customer's sites, their email - all down... And it's no good having email support when their email servers are down too! They don't do telephone support... What a nightmare!
So I am moving to another host & publishing my experiences...
Terrible service. They promise alot but fail to deliver. I agree with the other postings, that their webstatistics are completely false. I have direct evidence now. We moved http://www.surrealartforum.com a few weeks ago, and found that the number of unique visitors was way off. Servage stats are totally trash.
I had a problem with automated script spam attacks on my site. So I enquired with tech support if they could check their server logs. Being a good Netizen, I don't want to affect any one with complacency. But lo and behold, they tell that they have no way of telling.
What??? Then how can they possibly suspend accounts for excess usage if they don't have any true stats?????
Their server's frequently have down time, for which their is no appolgy or compensation.
There are also connectivity problems between the webserver and MySQL.
Tech support is terrible.
The biggest give away of how terrible they are, being the quotes of anonymous customers extolling the "superb" service.
You will not notice problems if you have a small site. But wait until your site grows....
Servage is an excellent host. I work as a professional web developer and have found servage to be a web host far above all others. Currently they are offered 75GB of storage and 1.1TB or transfer and a free .eu domain along with it.
Some people have knocked the support but the ticket system is usually very fast and efficient and they allways repond in a polite and professional matter. Also people say they can't host boards or late PHP software with them which is rubbish. I have used PhpBB, Invision Power Board, MkPortal, OsCommerce and the only thing some needed was a ticket to servage asking to change some php.ini variables.
Servage claims 99.98% reliability and in the 2 years i have used them they have only had one big breakdown for about a day, for which they gave a free month of hosting as an apology.
Also free SSL so you can use your ecommerce packages you can run a secure site. They use the latest versions of MySql, PhP, PhpMyAdmin and if you ever need help with coding just send them a ticket and a quick response.
All in all I say Servage is awesome and people with complaints are just a minority, you can't please everyone and all companies have some problems now and again.
Plus I only pay Ģ3.30 a month which is Ģ2 cheaper, hehe :p
I was sceptical when I first started to look at Servage. But I saw some good reviews, and decided to give them a try.
I have to say, I am very happy with them, and will be renewing my account with them.
They give you more space and bandwidth then you'll probably ever need, and tons of extra features as well. I am hosting about 10 domains off my 1 account, they allow up to 25.
There custom control panel is easy to learn.
I am also VERY surprised by the support. I wasn't expecting much. But the times I had a question, they responded within a couple hours, will a polite, and detailed response.
The speed may be a bit slower than other web-hosts, but not too slow at all. When you get THAT MUCH Space and bandwidth, it's worth it to have slightly less speed than other hosts.
So if you need a big amount of space and bandwidth, and/or be able to host multiple domain names with tons of extras and good support, then sign up with Servage.
We are just moving some of our sites across from hostgator.com to servage.net primarily to take advantage of servage's bigger bandwidth. So far all has been good and prompt responses from servage. I have to admit that I loved the cPanel at hostgator.com and never had any problems with them. I miss the cPanel - but am finding my way around servage's panel relatively easily. Servage is horrible. They offer lots of space and transfer, and allow you to use multiple domains. Why? You simply can't use it. They limit your mysql usage so you can't run a forum or a portal.
Their control panel is terrible, they don't offer any commom statistics system, just one created by them, that doesn't count well the hits of the web site. Well, it counts much more hits than you really have. My website has been cut down 2 times, first because it reached 300000 hits per day (using only 5gb per day, only pages!) and second because they think my SQL queries are heavy and they cut the limit of 72000 queries to 1000 queries without any notice. Also their file system is bad because I change a folder's name and all files in it disapppeared! I can't trust on them.
Now I have pre-paid 6 months of hosting and can't use what I paid for, hosting a web site.

Their stats are grossly incorrect. They exaggerate your usage up to hundreds or even thousands of times. Check it yourself. These errors make their seemingly generous "600GB" meaningless (it's probably more like 6GB). This is not a problem for me because I don't have the confidence in servage to place an important web site with them, but it should be of grave concern to anyone who has been paying, or has been asked to pay, excess bandwidth charges. You are being screwed! Check your usage carefully and demand a refund, via your lawyer if necessary. Or contact your local Police if such a practice is illegal in your country.
My most recent issue with them is the blatant hijacking of one of my web sites. I placed genius.co.uk with them on December 24th 2005 and when I got back recently from holiday I noticed a site had been uploaded that was not mine! The domain had been removed from my account without my permission and was placed on another servage host. I believe that a member of servage staff did it, since only a member of staff would have had access to the system to move the domain off my account.
Servage is unwilling or unable to apologise nor will it provide an assurance that it will not happen again, nor explain how it happened. They have also removed my DNS entry and have had the audacity to ask me to put the domain back onto my account. The cheek of it!
DO NOT TRUST THESE GUYS WITH ANY IMPORTANT WEB SITES. Servage may be just ok to host your own personal, non-important stuff quickly and cheaply but do not use them for anything else. You have been warned.

I have a couple of sites hosted there that I had as an image hosting for a few weeks. Every time I compared the speed of loading the pages servages was much faster tha the others. I compared with Lycos (payed service) B-one (paid business acoount) Yahoo (paid accound)

Had this 2 days now and am already delighted with its speed and ease of use. I transferred our domain simply by changing the dns addresses at my previous host, uploaded the site using ftp commander and it all came alive a couple of hours later. My experience with servage is horrible. Through out my time with servage I noticed that my folders started to disappear randomly. In the end, I found out it was servage that deleted them, saying that there were illegal contents. Although these so called "illegal contents" were there
for over 2 months, they decided to delete them once my site started to mature. Can you imagine building a sand castle while some jerk waits until you finish and then decides to knock it down? Anyhow, I noticed that any files I have that takes up a lot of space gets deleted, so I'll never reach the webspace limit.
I was looking for a hosting provider offering high amount of traffic for a reasonable price. Googling and reading several forums, including this one, I have chosen servage.net.
I ordered (February 2006) 1 year of hosting for USD 7.50 per month and got two additional months for free. There was no setup fee. Allowed space is 25 Gb (I have got 27.5 Gb, using a coupon code of one of the reviewers of this forum to get additional 2.5Gb), traffic - 17 Gb per day, i.e. around 510 Gb per month (depending on number of days in a month). By the way, the disc space grows each day, after 16 days I got additional 48 Mb.

Customer service is quick and perfect, however, for technical questions they asked me to contact technical service directly, through submitting a support ticket. I did that and received the answer really quickly (in less than an hour).
Only once there was a problem of reaching my site, which lasted for a few hours. Later that day came an email from servage.net (even though I was not sending any inquiries) explaining that there was a DOS attack on the cluster of servers where my website is located, with excuses for what have happened and granting me one free month of hosting for inconvenience. i am with them about 15 months. I am very happy about their services. Space and BW is unbilivable but true. I have 5 sites on 1 account. My ste s using lots of resources because of its multimedia content. But clustured system is very fast. Thier contol panel is improving every month. They make the best every time. I strongly recommend you this guys.
I've been with servage.net for over 6 months, hosting 3 web sites on single account. Setup aws very fast, technical support as well - all the time within few minutes. Good speed, reliable, I have nothing to complain about. Features are best I could find - lost of space, unlimited subdomains, emails, databases .. pleasure to use.
Sorry to say this Denmark-based host comes up short. Control panel is adequate, but the slowness of FTP services and any scripts (Movable Type or Wordpress) makes using Servage a hassle. No money back guarantee for poor services. I would stay away from Servage.

They don't use C-panel which is worse for them than it is the customer seeing most web tutorials or help threads relate to C-panel. So, prolly not the best host if your new to web hosting and you require help from forums and stuff. But then I guess you could just tell the support team.

This company claims to set up most sites within 30 minutes. Well.. they took the money from my account in 30 minutes, but over 2 weeks later and I still did not have an account with them. Despite requesting a refund on 5 occasions, I am still waiting and have had to threaten legal action against them. Each time I write to their accounts they keep requesting the details which I registered with them so they can find my account. I DON'T have an account with them! They failed to give me one! They just took the money and despite repeatedly telling them and giving them all the details I possibly can I just keep on getting the same lack of response. My advice is to avoid this company like the plague, the have showed blatant incompetence in all respects.

Bandwidth (330GB/month!), storage space (currently 15GB!), and price wise, Servage is definately one of the best (if not the best host out there). The only downside is... they run their servers at very high capacities it sometimes makes website accesses to be a tad slower. In general the latency for North America would be within the 100ms range (*pretty fair for a low cost host).
For midsized websites (100k-500k visits/month) or roughly 2 million page views/month Servage is an excellent place to start off. With a free domain name, unlimited subdomains and mysql databases, you just can't lose with their deal!
Servage in my opinion is quite a decent host in all regards, the setup time was amazing, the quickest i've experienced yet, the only disadvantage is the stats service, only basic stats are given although they say the busy improving this.
There service is also great, i've had many enquiries promptly answered so on the overall this host comes highly recommended

I have been with them for eight months now and I do not have one single negative thing to say about them! I use my full disk space and bandwidth and their servers simply run at blazing speeds.
Since two months ago, Servage doesnot offer full statistic date aceess because they are doing a "statistic service maintenance"! Just in servage, a maintenance last for two months.
The speed of the server are horrible, is almost impossible for me and my clients finish a download sucessfully, mainly when it is a high file download.
Other thing servage lacks is information: in my cpanel the "disk usage information' stayed crashed by two months! i complained for them for the problem and the response i got was "Donīt worry about it, when you near to arrive to your limit we send a notification for you" .... i donīt want to know when im arriving to my limit, i want to know how much space i use and them donīt show this information correctily... and while they still are doingg that maintenance we donīt have acurrate statistic and the short statistic we have, they felete after few day with pout any authorization.
Their Cpanel is horrible, basic features like protect a folder with password is lacking.
I also had some files deleted by them, them said my files was disrespecting their terms of service because had copyright content... but IF, i repeat IF there was some thing that was copyrighted, was just dome files in the folder and not the entire folder, they deleted my folder without any notice and when i tryed to argue with the about this, they said that i had just two hours to delete the entire folder if i not done that, i would be expulsed from them.
Now, i really donīt need them expulsing me, i will left soon as my pre-paid tree months of hosting finish.
I never was so much disrrespected by a hosting company.
I read this thread a couple of months ago when, on behalf of an organisation I was doing some consultancy for, was looking for a content manager and a place to host the same. We had decided on drupal and needed a cheap hosting arrangerment that offered us multiple domains and a reasonable amount of space and bandwith. We decided on Servage.net (see further up this thread). We've been with them a month and a half now, and are happy to report that having settled in with them, we have no greviances. Our account was activated very soon after signup, which cost us what works out to less than eight dollars a month. The (free) transfer of our domain from our previous registrar was smooth, customer support always very quickly answered our queries, and Drupal installed without a hitch- several times- as we do have the facilities to host twenty-five domains (with unlimited sub-domains) on the one account! At this writing, we're getting over three hundred and thirty Gigabytes of bandwith per month as well as over seven-and-a-half Gigs of storage space. But just as important- more importantly, Drupal runs without a hitch, and we have been getting all the support we need to accomplish the inevitable extensions to the (ample) functionality we're currently enjoying!
I've been thinking about where the future might take us next in terms of hosting (VPS, colocation or managed), and really, it looks like we'll need to experience a CONSIDERABLE amount of growth before we reach that crossroads.

These guys are great. My account was setup in less than 1 hour and my subdomain within 4 hours (DNS Propogation). Servers are very fast and always running. I recommend this to anyone looking for a lot of disk space, high bandwidth (300g), and fast servers.
I have been using Servage for about a year and a half now. Their service has been flawless and I have not noticed any problems what so ever! My support requests have been promptly answered every time I had a question.
My site is using ~290 GB traffic and 5 GB disk space. The server speed is excellent and Im able to download at full speed maxing out my cable connection!
Now my website is offline every day from 7a.m till 2a.m (all this week). and Servage send me email about it in the first day:

The First 10 month it was everithing ok, about 2 weeks ago they desactivate my phpbb forum without any alert. The explication:
"We have had to rename the folder http://www.*****.net/foros/ to disable it as it was putting a too large load on our servers.
Kindly do not re-enable the script as it affects the overall performance of our systems in a negative way. If the script is re-enabled we will be forced to suspend the account."
The first 6 month they responds very quiqly for my supports tickets (2-3 hours) Now I must waiting about 10-12 hours.
The folks @ Servage are great! Their service is very well run and their staff put up with all my stupid biginner questions. All support tickets are answered fast and politely. Thank you!
They give lots of space for a low price, and I have yet to have any downtime at all with them. Their customer support responds in a couple hours, and is very helpful.
