Simplehost is fairly reliable, especially for the price. But god forbid you have any problems. I have started having problems accessing the control panel to administer my site.
Simplehost has yet to respond to any trouble tickets I have raised or call me back on the customer support line.
When I started with them around 9 months ago, they had a fast response, helped me with problems, and provided information I needed to get started. About 6 months later the site started going down from time to time, and the control panel quit working. Then, around month 7 my email server reset multiple times, making me download everything again. Recently I can't get ahold of anyone at the company, and they even LOST all my recent uploads!! (2 weeks worth). Too bad.... Sorry guys.
Dont host a forum with them. They are terrible. Down a lot. Pictures do not fully load. I do not recommend them. I am going somewhere else. They are good for a month or so then....beware.
They were unable to provide even minimal service. Our site was down more times than I can count. When contacted about it, they usually ignored it utnil we submitted multiple requests. We were without email for several days and they were unable to recover the lost emails. They then lied and said we hadn't received any email during the time period, although we had copies from our customers. When we canceled our service with them, they advertised they're own site SimpleHost under our domain name. Very Tacky and unprofessional. If this is the last service provider on earth I still wouldn't use them.
A great budget host. I was previously with dot5hosting but after a bad experience with them I decided to move to simplehost after reading some reviews about them. So far they have been great. Their customer support is prompt and helpful and there has been very little downtime (only remember site going down once for an hour or something).
