When I registered with Spymac, I thought I was getting a good deal back in 2003-2004. The cost was relatively cheap but this also came with lousy support, horrible response times, and frequent downtime.
When e-mailing support, they often offered no help and that's if you could even get a response. Their were no terms of service or anything like that, so I assumed it was a pretty relaxed host. When I decided to cancel and move to Surpass Hosting, they all of the sudden existed and promptly responded to my e-mail that told them to cancel. They are happy to cancel your account but any other support you need, they don't care.
When switching hosts, Spymac also refused to give up my domain name that I paid for. I asked them nicely and put in the request and they said they couldn't do it with NO explanation as to why or an apology. Spymac is probably one of the worst hosts I've seen and I'd not recommend their hosting to ANY person.
(Note: the URL of my site is now a search engine site as I wasn't able to transfer the domain, someone else grabbed it). |
