Verdict :
This company has been nothing but bad news from the start.
The repeated name changes all result from poor management.
It no longer exists and the hosting accounts are controlled by Heart Internet. Heart are a large reputable firm and used to provide some of UK WEB services. They may charge highers fee - but you get what you pay for.
You can reclaim your domains by contacting ukwebcomplaints@live.com and waiting a week for them to get back to you.
Joined UK:Web in July 2007 because very cheap hosting package.
All help and support offered only by e-mail but actually got good
response and intelligent answers in the first few weeks.
As of today (27/3/2008) my website, email etc are all unavailable. Their domain(s) primarily ukwebhosting.co.uk has been sold to dataflame (who claim to be unconnected and refuse to offer any support). The control panel login screen is still there but does not accept login.
I am fortunate in that they did not register my domain so am moving elsewhere, but those who have sites registered by them may find life more difficult, as according to other contributors they tended to register them in their own name.
If anyone has the time and inclination, and can track the IP address 82.110.105.8 to it's true source/owner, maybe some legal action can be entered into against these people (or person as it appears).
When I joined this webhost in 2006 I had nothing but problems when trying to seek support from them. Eventually after couple of months, problems were resolved, and things have been running fairly smoothly. That is until last week, when the URL for UKwebhosting.co.uk comes up as an invalid address. My father also hosts a website through them and he is having same problems. We have both sent various emails but to no avail. Lee is just not coming up with the goods anymore and think we deserve an answer. Anyone else experiencing problems?
I have no access to my domain control panel and the ukwebhosting.co.uk website is down. No replies to emails or phone calls. I have valuable sql databases and cannot retrieve them. I am going to be taking legal action due to loss of earnings and breach of contract. AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE!!
Terrible! Now with even worse service after the 'HostLogical / UK Web Hosting / OpenInternetServices' continual renaming and complete inability to make contact.
Is it just coincidence that the positive comments on this list all come from the same IP address? 194.63.116.72 ?
When I purchased my first domain and hosting it took three weeks to get to the point where I was able to upload content. The second domain has been registered but no password provided to enable me to manage the content. I have never had a response to a support query and have tried all the email addresses and forms based methods to get in touch. Even the telephone number is an answer machine so no chance of a reply there.
I think Matthew Prust is hoping that people will not miss £20 and when the service is not provided take their business elsewhere. It seems from reading other posts on the net that this happens with other companies headed by MP so my advice would be to run a WHOIS first and check who owns the hosting service you are signing up to!
I have since purchased hosting with another company and access was provided within 2 hours, on a Sunday evening.
Just signed up and built my site using their new Website Builder Plus tool. Really quick and easy to use, even for a tecnophobe like me!!!
I admit I was attracted by the low cost plans that they offer but also been impressed with the support when I have needed it and the level of extras you get is great.
Well, its taken me a while but I've found a government online small claims system at https://www.moneyclaim.gov.uk/csmco2/index.jsp which looks like I can start a legal process online (without having to travel to England) against HostLogical / UK:Web and get my dosh back. I've still to figure out the costs and it may be that it'll cost me more than the sum owed, but it'll be worth it if there's some legal black mark against the company that puts others off doing "business" with it. Maybe the others who posted on the HostLogical page who are owed more than me will find this useful too.
No, "Tony" never did respond to email send to the address given below.

Here's hoping, and I'll report back here as things progress.
Chose these people after bad experience with HostLogical/UKweb Hosting. Slightly pricier, but excellent service - I had domain name/DNS resolution problems which they sorted out within 2 hours of my query! Also happy to answer queries before I had even signed up with them.
I have been with Hostlogical for 2 years. At the beginning of December 2005 (2 weeks ago), my site was deleted, and all my email addresses associated with the site too. I tried contacting Hostlogical, and found that they had been taken over by UKwebhosting. I have since found out that my domain is up for renewal. I tried to renew it with a different web host (Fasthosts). They have found out that hostlogical have registered my domain in their name. I have tried contacting them to authorize transfer from their name to mine (a lengthy process at the best of times!). Hostlogical have not responded to my emails/ phone calls/ faxes. I have tried contacting ukwebhosting in the same way and they are equally unobtainable. I have spoken to 123-reg, Nominet, Fasthosts, and UKreg. All of them are amazed a company could be so negligent. I now have to wait the 90 day time out period just so I can have my site back.
Do not use this company as they're scammers, and just out for your money. The support doesn't exist, and they give web hosting companies a bad name. I could add more, but I hope you all get the message.
Well, here we are two weeks after emailing 'tony@openinternetservices.com' as per the comments below and nothing, nada, nowt. No acknowledgement, no reply, no refund.
I note with interest that the parent company OpenInternetServices has taken down the 'Sussex Enterprise' logo that was being displayed on its site; why's that I wonder? Perhaps if we all try contacting the BBC's Watchdog programme at http://www.bbc.co.uk/watchdog/contact/ with our concerns, it'll at least stop others from being ripped off.
I'm in Scotland and I've no idea how the small claims legal system works in England but I'm off to do a bit of web-based research and I'll report back here if it appears that there's a route to my money that way.
I've posted problems with this company under its HostLogical identity in the past where it has taken my money, not provided service and then been completely uncontactable by email, post or problem ticket. I received email from UK:Web promising me all sorts of good stuff and offering a contact address (although that email was flagged by Yahoo! as spam.) I emailed the contact address (same one as given by "Tony Ellis" in his reply below) more than two weeks ago, then a week ago and nothing, no reply, not even an autoresponder. I notice that the 'parent' company, OpenInternetServices, is displaying business and professional association logos and have emailed those bodies to see if I can get any help in getting a refund from OpenInternetServices. Is this just a change of name so the paper trail between my money and me becomes so long and exhausing that I give up? Looks like it.
This Host is just Hostlogical with a new name and changed look and feel. After terminating an account with Hostlogical, I find I cannot transfer my domain, and I get no response at all from the "new" owners uk:web. (I got no info that they were changing
Please do not use this host - see reviews of Hostlogical for details of how bad they are.
I have just started out with this host but so far been very impressed. £10 a year for 100mbs of space and a gig of bandwidth was ideal for my site and the support seems to be quick and easy to use and understandt.
My brothers charity have just got some free web hosting through them and all in all, so far so good.
