I moved to Verizon because I was having trouble with my old hosting provider. Verizon provided me with a reasonable service, for a reasonable price. Not the best nor the cheapest. But once I moved, I had troulbe figuring out their setup and getting my site to work. Email for tech support took over 24 hours for response. Too slow. But calling the 800 number works great. They answer quickly and spend as much time on the phone helping you work out the issues. I also like the "one-stop" idea that they provide my phone, broadband, and web, all on one invoice. |

Verizon was our webhost when I first took over the website for my company, and for the most part, as long as the site stayed up, I didn't complain, despite the abysmal control panel and the mediocre support that would rather give me temporary workarounds rather than real service.
Then they moved our site to a new server. And ever since then, I have had nothing but problems. They removed my ability to access the old control panel, and gave me the world's absolute worst SQL database management tool. They took over a day to respond to a support request email with "Please call our support line". They changed the password to access the site via FTP without informing me, and when I called to ask what was wrong, they insisted that the site had never had that password; please ignore the fact that I had been accessing the site with the password less than a week ago.
I am in the process of finding another web host, and do not plan on doing business with Verizon again. |
