Verdict : I am so furious at Viza Web that I decided to come to this website and leave a nice review about their horrible hosting service that I will be leaving soon.

I've had Viza Web for over three years now. I am professional programmer and web developer, and I can't get much developing and programming done when my sites are always down! At least once a month, all 5 of the websites I currently run under Viza Web go down for at least a week. Tech support is unresponsive, the phone never picks up, the live chat is always offline, and the host of Viza Web, the Planet, does nothing to help.
Above my websites going down, whenever they are actually working, there's always something that doesn't work! Either I can't connect to my MySQL database, my FTP doesn't work, or the Cpanel does not load.

I've had it with Viza Web. Many people, including me, chose Viza Web hosting because the tech personality Leo Laporte used them to host his websites a while back. Well he has since then left the service, and ever since then, the service and hosting have gone down hill. Viza Web became too big and they can't manage all their new customers.
Bottom line, Viza Web sucks. I wish them no luck for the nightmare they put me through, making me look like an idiot when I tell people to go to one of my websites and it doesn't load. I've lost money and business through them, and I can't take them anymore.

Verdict : I have never had so many problems with a hosting service. They were good in the beginning so I had three sites hosted there. When we tried to transfer one of them away a year ago it took months and jumping through hoops to get the transfer code. When our second site was up for renewal it took longer for them to respond to our request to transfer. Meanwhile our domain name expired and we could never get anyone from Vizaweb to respond. Enom their domain registrar said that we needed to go through Vizaweb to do the transfer. Our domain was sold to a company that charges $700 to get it back. I complained to the BBB and the Minnesota Attorney General. They both tried and failed to get a response from Vizaweb. My last domain was renewed but we only get their index page instead of ours and we've been shut out of our control panel and FTP server. Again no answer. We just started a new domain with another service.

Verdict : I have been down for months...no response from vizaweb, no-one is able to help me get back my domain name and today I opened my credit card bill to find a charge of $35 from vizaweb! I called the phone number (651-235-1849) provided and the person who anwered the phone claims he has nothing to do with them and has already received several angry calls.I can't believe these people could do this and still hold my domain name hostage....Is ther someone anywhere who can help?!!!

Verdict : I have used Vizaweb for several years to host a family web site and emails. Lots of short outages, but now the company seems to have gone away entirely. My DNS does not resolve, and even their DNS does not resolve.

I cannot get to my site to get the most recent materials off, and I cannot even transfer my domain since they are not around to approve the transfer request.

Highly frustrating. I chose them because they were cheap and Leo Laporte recommended them. Now I know much better.

Verdict : I was using them to host, the first year lots of downtime, weeks at a time. I was notified they had corrected all the problems. I wasn't going to renew. But had auto pay set up. They billed me then told me I owe them I sent them a receipt and thought it was ok. I then a month later checked the site and its suspended, I have filed three tickets with tech support, no answers, I tried calling the number on the vizaweb site and it is no longer in service. It tells you to call some strange number 1010158000 Well its a non working number too. I guess its write it off and warn others.

Verdict : I am very disappointed with Vizaweb. When they go down, they go down for days. Over the past year, they have gone offline at least three times for multiple days. Only once when they came back online was an email sent apologizing for the downtime and an offer to credit my account.

My site is down again as I type this review. This time, I can't even submit an online support ticket because it appears Vizaweb has let their trouble ticket software license expire (at least that what I take "License Error: Key file has expired" to mean). If I call their toll free number on a landline, it says I can not use the service from my calling area, which is in New York state!!?? If I call from my cell, it offers to send me a text message with instructions on how to contact them!

Goodbye Vizaweb. I mean nothing to your company. You have proven that by not providing a reasonable method that can be used to contact Tech Support when a site is down.

Verdict : I have used VizaWeb to host a company website for 3 years. The first two years they double billed Paypal both times and would not refund the amount. The second year, I was able to contest it through my bank, because PayPal would not get involved (another company to avoid!). The bank fortunately saw the merit, refused to release the funds to PayPal who finally decided to act after they could not get the funds! From that point, I decided to pay directly to VizaWeb with a credit card. They deducted the amount, listed the site as active, but have failed to open the website. They are unresponsive to any support claims, and I am back to contesting the amount. At this point, I can not get them to release the domain name, so I am losing business daily. NEVER NEVER NEVER use this service. Shame on me for doing anything beyond the first problem. Don't make the same mistake. Better Business Bureau has a list of complaints against this company. BUYER BEWARE!

Verdict : For the first few years we had a reasonable experience with vizaweb, but that is long over. It has since become the most unreliable hosting arrangement I have ever had, and I have moved the one web site I had there to another company with whom I have had continuously good results.

What I've seen in the last year include:
1) Unannounced, extended downtime lasting for days
2) Frequent slow response due to overloaded servers
3) DNS servers that go down unexpectedly --- you can't even look up hosts in their domain much less visit the pages hosted there.
4) Tech support whose response to complaints about not being able to access your site amount to "Thank you for your patience, we're having some problems that should be resolved soon." Requests for additional information are usually ignored, and usually when the problem is resolved it returns a few hours later.

I would wholeheartedly recommend that this company be avoided like the plague. I transferred my only site from them this weekend, and today I find they've got another round of down time, because I can't even get to their home page to cancel my account, nor can I do DNS lookups of their domain again. Got the files transferred just in time.

Verdict : Terrible experiences. Major down times. Stats program consistently stops working. They changed code in some of my pages. They have overridden several of my files. Old files would mysteriously appear. They blocked my ip address from accessing my site and then had to switch my site to another server so I could access it. They shut off my site because i uploaded some swf files and it was drawing bandwidth even though I was no where close to using up my allotted bandwidth. Believe me this goes on & on .....

Verdict : The project I was using them for is over and the website long dead, but wanted to add my thoughts on VizaWeb.

Another project is starting and, no, I won't be using them again. I don't have anything especially vitriolic to say, I had a small site and didn't have major problems. For a first-timer, they weren't bad - but then again that was 5 years ago, when Leo LaPorte was advocating them. Too bad they've gone downhill.

Their prices have gone up, while they still have the same poor support as always. Could never get them on the phone, emails took several days to respond to, and still left with questions. Don't use a host you can't get on the phone, with technical issues you really will need a HUMAN to speak to.

And beware, if you're a current user and planning on moving, they automatically charge you without asking for next cycle...

Verdict : This is the worst experience I have ever had with a web hosting company. I do not like to be lied to. Tell me the truth and maybe I'll stay with a company, but lie to me and I'm gone. Because the service was not up I asked for a refund and of course, he would not provide a refund. When I wanted control of the domain it took over one month to do so.

Verdict : To say that vizaweb offers a tremendously unreliable solution would be a gross understatement. I am responsible for the hosting of nearly 20 domains across 10 different hosting companies -- it's hard to be WORSE than VizaWeb in terms of reliability, coordinated changes (which are inevitable), and communication with support. Note that the second item in this list reflects poor process, planning, and execution -- something that technology cannot fix. One example is IP changes: name servers are updated at the wrong time as Apache, causing your site to be plain unavailable until the fix is propagated. I can go on with many more specific examples, but you can save the hassle and go to one of the thousands of OTHER options available to you as a consumer. Best of luck.

Verdict : Dont ever use this host, if you do, then you deserve what you will get, and boy will you get it.
Lies, excuses, promises, and fairy tales. How these clowns get away with what they do heaven knows, but as long as the blind lead the blind they will still sucker in the gullable.
I heard all the excuses for long periods of downtime, well everything all but the servers being attacked by pink aliens.
My trusting these liars with...........oh yes I missed that one as well......LIARS .... anyway I was fully assured that my domain name http://www.pantyholic.com which came free with the package would be registered in my name and belonged to me. WRONG they kept it and no way were they going to let me have it.
Rather than pay for another year of HELL I let it go, but boy did I learn the hard way.
If you are stupid enough to use this shower DONT use them for registering your domain name. They will hold you to ransom hoping you will waste another years hosting fee, if not they will use your domain to generate income from traffic like they did mine.
vizawebsucks.com they felt so bad they created a web site. Enough said

This is the 3rd time in 5 months that things have been down for reasons that anyone with a modicum of knowledge about computers would know just don't fly. Verdict : Vizaweb is cheap and it shows. I should have left them when their servers went down with the asiawood virius... I should have left. But the space was good and I had a reseller account, so I could host most of my sites on one bill.

Not worth it. As it stands tonight, their website, my websites, FTP, HTTP, cPanel.. NOTHING is accessable for 2 days. No warnings, but they took my money without a problem. I had my main site since 1998, and that database is gone at this point.

I highly recommend you stay away, which should be easy, since they are DEAD IN THE WATER.

Verdict : I have been using this host for several years, it started off great. I had a few sites running on a shared hosting plan with virtually no downtime and great support. I recently bought another plan for a different website and it's down all the time (a couple days a month) which is unacceptable. I e-mail their support team asking for help or why they are down and get NO response not even an automated one. I would not recommend this host because it just doesn't deliver what it used to.

Verdict : Vizaweb is a disgrace to online hosting. There customer service is a disgrace, the downtime is constant, and I have lost a lot of $$ from not being able to receive my emails.
Not only have their servers been hacked before, but down time in September went on for at least 3 days, whilst before then I have had problems accessing my email in the early hours (US time).
When I had tried to email vizaweb for support during the september downtime period, they did not bother to respond at all.
Now October 8th, yet again my website and email server is down and has been for at least 4-6 hours. This is NOT acceptable, and I am going to move hosts asap.

Verdict : Vizaweb hosting is a nightmare, a true case of "you get what you pay for." My site was down constantly and getting customer service in a timely manner was impossible. The only contacts I'd get from them were emails when they were hacked or something went down. I would never, ever recommend Vizaweb as a host.

Verdict : VizaWeb is absolutley horrid in their customer service, and their downtimes are absurd. To add insult to injury, as we're attempting to do changes to the website and possibly migrate servers, VizaWeb itself goes down! They've apparently had *their* account suspended, in a bout of irony -- so good luck trying to log into cpanel. Stay away from them like the plague.... they'll just give you a headache.

Verdict : Vizaweb is a good host if you are willing to do a lot of the work yourself. Customer support is worthless in most circumstances. They are helpful in regards to questions about account settings and billing (of course) but getting them to install Perl modules and other server-side tasks is a nightmare. The server reliability wavers, but they have gotten light years better after Leo Laporte took some of the load off their servers. I have not had an issue since his move took place. The servers tend to be fast in my experience. Even FTP upload achieves descent speeds (at times.) Vizaweb offers a plethora of features at a descent price, which is really the only reason I still use them.

All in all, I would recommend this host only to experienced users who enjoy fiddling with the command prompt and Cpanel. Novice users, or users that need rock solid uptime should turn to another host.

Verdict : Had good luck to start with, but lately very bad and will be switching immediately. Had 2 domains hit by the iSKORPiTX hack (server vulnerability). Tried calling both their support number and their toll free sales number and got a very young child both times answering the phone, maybe a 2-3 year old. On the second call I heard an adult in the background telling the child what to say. The third call resulted in the child answering, but then it went to an answering machine. No response in 16 hours to the phone message or to e-mail request. Something bad is going on with them.

Verdict : I've since got over my awfull experience with Vizaweb but still feel It's my duty to warn others about this diabolical shower.
Hosting Company they are NOT
Lying cheating unprofessional amatures they most certainly are.
What I've read here mirrors what I suffered but should anyone even after reading this be foolish enough to use this bunch then DONT whatever you do use them to register you Domain name as I was foolish enough to.
They use it at as ransom to keep you hosted with them. Their crap almost daily DOWNTIME is caused by Massive Overselling which is forcing their servers to shut down regularly.Bad sever management, and believe me it's cry, jump of a bridge, or kiss goodbye to some $$s and move.
I did but I lost my domain name as well, they just ignored all attempts for me to move it, whats more I found out the liars registered it in their name.
Arr well you live and learn, I suppose.
Problem is people should research a Host before they pay on trust and bullshit.
Search Google for Vizaweb Sucks, one ex customer has even set up a Vizawebsucks web site/

Verdict : We signed up with Vizaweb after searching for an inexpensive hosting service for our club. The pricing packages were very attractive and with the backing of an IT Celeb convinced us to try them out.

All went great the first few months, but after that there has been almost weekly outages, http, ftp, pop, mysql, you name it, it's failed. Support tickets go unanswered. The last support ticket was submitted 3 weeks ago and still has not been responded to. There is NO phone support as stated on their website. It goes directly to voicemail and you never get a call back.

We are currently exploring new hosting for our site as Vizaweb has been a huge letdown.

Verdict : This company is a joke. Before moving to Vizaweb my hosting company was bad enough, but I never realised what I was getting myself into.

All the time and effort that I put on my site, thrown down the toilet thanks to these guys of Vizaweb. My site was most of the times down !!
Support.....what support ??!? Has Vizaweb even got a support department?
My emails to support where answered at least 2 days later with a bunch of non sense.
Finally one day they replied to me saying that the problem was my site taking up too many resources and that I should upgrade account (more money).
I was desperate to get my site working properly, so I did pay to upgrade to semi dedicated server package.
Did things get better? NO !!!
For 2 weeks after I paid they finally moved me to the semi dedicated server.
In those two weeks they have lied to me saying that my site had been already moved......LIES LIES LIES. My site was still off line or horribly slow most of the day.

Now it is 4 months that I am with a new company and I have no problems at all.

Their behaviour is disgusting. I as many other had to waste so many hours sorting out all these problems. Even if they refund you those 100 usd no body is ever going to refund you the damage they did (lost subscriptions and lost customers).

These guys should be taken to court and should be banned from running any kind of business.

Verdict : I also signed up after hearing Leo Laporte say how great it was over and over on his radio program. That was in the spring. I am not sure when he finally dumped them.

I am glad that I decided to try them out first before leaving my original hosting service. I wasn't using VizaWeb for much, but my site was often displaying errors and when I did email them the replies took a few days.

I have spent the past few evenings looking for a replacement for Vizaweb. Found this site by searching for 'Vizaweb reviews'. I also suggest going to check out their forums if they don't shut them down again. They reopened a while back, but now you need to sign up, which I did they other. After reading the posts in there and here I am definitely getting away from them sooner rather than later and am just going to give up the 6 months I have left with them. I won't even bother to get my 1-year free domain registration as I heard they do it in their name. Hard to believe.

Verdict : Horrible hosting service, sites would go down for days. Submit trouble ticket after trouble ticket, and get nothing more then a 'sorry about that' Claim to have a 99.7% uptime guarantee, but won't honor it.

Pro Plan states phone support, but nobody will answer the phone and no way to leave a message.

Tried to do a backup of my site before we moved to a new host, and the mysql database backup wasn't complete.

Only way to get a response from them is via their forum, and the response is them deleting your posts, if they are negative toward vizaweb in anyway.

Its been almost a week since they charged my checking account twice for my quarterly hosting fees causing my bank account to go negative and costing me a surcharge on top of the $160+ for the hosting which should have been $80.

Having said that how much effort does it take to respond to an e-mail? They claim "You can contact us by email anytime of the day or night. We always have someone on call. But when it goes offline which is at least once a month sometimes more technical support is unavailable after 5. No one EVER picks up there phone so calling is not an option. The support requests do get serviced during the day but after 5. You generally wait till the next day. For our business it has been a bit of a challenge and we just need to move. Down today for more than 14 hours.

Verdict : Although their pricing was what caught me they are pretty expensive when you figure in all of the down time and lack of support. They have suspended my account for a past due bill that they actually were paid on. I have a PayPal receipt but the account remains suspended and they will not respond back to me. I have filed complaints with both PayPal and the Better Business Bureau but they too have responded to me letting me know that Vizaweb did not respond to the complaint. Do yourself a favor and stay clear from Vizaweb. I cannot even transfer my domain name since they never put my information on it and won't respond to godaddy for approval. This has got to be the worst company that I have ever dealt with.

I asked billing why they continue to take on new accounts and they said that they have advertising contracts they have to pay for so they still had to sign-up new customers (eventhough they could not provide any support as they promise.

If you still decide to sign up with this company, YOU ARE AN IDIOT.

I was with Vizaweb for just over 2 years. The first year was fine, as if a little slow. After the 2nd subscription everything went down hill.

As users have said above the customer service.. well all I can say is WHAT customer service.

AVOID THIS COMPANY LIKE THE BLACK PLAGUE!

Massive downtime sometimes 3 days at a time. The last downtime was suffered this weekend just gone. You tried to get on your website only to find that your antivirus software is throwing warnings out for worm attacks!!!

My final email to their pointless service desk:

"Dear (Vizaweb),

Thank you for email, but dispite your initial assurances that things would
improve after our last downtime I was still experiencing a much lower
percentage rate than you quote (99.7%).
More importantly I am receiving a number of emails from my long-standing
clients complaining about virus and worm attacks! I have attached a screenshot for your perusal.
"22/08/05 @ 17:19 GMT and I'm getting these worm attacks again ONLY when I
check the website.... "

I feel therefore that the time has come for me to change my hosting provider and therefore ask that you accept this email as immediate termination of my hosting. I feel let down by you and your company and my previous good relations with my own customers is bearly recoverable. I would hope that you would look favorably on refunding my subscription for this year.
I will continue my subscription with you for my other website and see how things progress / improve but I find it very annoying that my portfolio is not accessible for 70% of the time.

Verdict : In common with every other review I can find nothing good to say about Vizaweb except they are cheap. They have no customer support, if you get a reply to one email in four you are lucky. They registered a domain for me when I started hosting there and they let the domain registration lapse without telling me and as a result my site can't be accessed via DNS resolution. This has been the case for two days now and despite emails I have only had an automated ticket reply.

A previous problem meant I tried to phone from the UK and also got an answering machine and no replies. In the end I had to lose data to get the site up again as Vizaweb did nothing.

I cannot begin to say on a public site what I think of this company at the moment. You may take it that I do not recommend Vizaweb.

Verdict : We have a e-commerce hosted with Vizaweb. We submitted an order to purchase a SSL certificate for our site on 7/9/05. Up to today (8/3/05), it still not done yet. I tried numberous email and phone calls. The email resopnse is just an automated acknowledge with an random ticket number generated, but never followed up with any answer at all. For the phone call, I've tried serveral time slots during the early morning, day time, evening time, nite and after mid-nite. No one was there ever to pick up the phone. Where have they all gone? We lost a lot of potential revenue since our e-commerce site is not up. Avoid this hosting guy at all cost !!! We are very frustrated and helpless. I am trying to move our site to another hosting guy. They took down their support forum probably because there are too many complaints.

Verdict : They CLAIM 24x7 support but you can forget ANY contact from Firday afternoon until Monday afternoon. They took away Spam Assasin without telling anyone, and have not replaced it for over 4 months even though they promise they will REAL SOON.

I can't imagine there are many people actually working here. You will NEVER speak to a human on the phone. They killed their use Forum (I suppose to keep from being inundated with complaints) It's a shame, because they are pretty fast and stable, and offer a lot for a good price. I would pay double (or more) if they actually gave me what they say they do. I will have to look elsewhere, which is a shame ...

Verdict : I switched to VizaWeb from SimplyHosting about 6 months ago. I needed more space at an affordable price and VizaWeb seemed to be offering that....But little did I know what I was getting into. My site has been offline many times in the last 6 months. Vizaweb staff are the worst at customer service..they don't respond to emails....I even called them (from Canada), and the call just went to the answering machine. They have taken their website forum offline coz I think people were just complaining about their bad service. About a month ago, they sent me an email saying that they apologise for the recent problems their customers have been facing and they blamed it on the increase in their business due to the exposure they got from some TechTV guy.They promised to improve on their service and customer support Well, I thought the worst was over...but as I write this, my site is down ....again!!!!

Recommendation: DON"T USE VIZAWEB!!!!!

Verdict : I switched to Vizaweb because they were suppose to have guaranteed uptime of 99.7%. My company is a software company so this was critical. Sense then in the four months I have had them they have crashed for two days straight and crashed several times a day otherwise. They do not respond to support, billing or any other department. Their phone goes to an answering machine that no one checks.

Vizaweb is a truly awful company, they actually complained about having too many customers and thus their support sucked. Yes this company complains about business.

Verdict : My site switched to Vizaweb about 4 months ago on the recommendation of Leo Laporte (of TechTV and This Week in Tech). We have had nothing but problems. They take several days to respond to emails (if they respond at all) and calling their phone number just gets voice mail. I have never had a reply from any of the many voice mail messages I've left. I've never got subdomains to work correctly and we've had various other DNS problems. Sometimes our site will just be unreachable for a few minutes or hours. At the moment our site has been suspended. Did I get a warning explaining why and telling me how to avoid suspension? No. Did I get a message after the site was suspended? No. Did they reply to any of my requests for an explanation? Wouldn't that have been nice. It's been 36 hours since the site went down and I have heard nothing from them. Their website claims that they have 24/7 support via phone and email, but that is certainly not the case. This site suspension thing happened before and we were out for a whole week before they helped us. It was all over one script that was getting spammed. They could have deleted the script, but the shut off our whole site. Not just http, either. I can't shell in, can't ftp in, can't use cpanel. I can't even get my data at all right now. Vizaweb may be taking good care of Leo, but the rest of us are out of luck. A bunch of us were discussing the problems on the Vizaweb customer message board, but Vizaweb took the board down. That speaks volumes.
