Please read the small print of the terms and conditions. Then walk away, unless you want to be chased by debt collectors when you are no longer using their service but they think that you still require to remain with them
used to host with them, Probably the worse hosts i've ever had, if they were cheap I could understand but how much they were charging its unacceptable. I moved after 14 days due to so many problems, we are still disputing payments 6 months later!
Really if you value your time and money avoid like the plage.
We build & host sites for our customers and did use DSVR. Because of very poor service from DSVR we had to change VPS & went with PIPEX/WEBFUSION. Support is almost non-existant (appart from the initial fist line contacts). The server is unreliable and we have a customer taking us to court because of loses incured because of the Webfusion poor reliability. Second line support seems to be in Inia with non-english speakers who could not care less. We are going to have to change hosts again. DON'T USE WEBFUSION.
I thought I was paying for a service. One of their servers went down and they somehow managed to lose all the web site data. For eveyone on that server too. Very poor. Customer service rep. Deputy Manager just seemed to laugh and say, 'you are responsible for your own backup'. OK, maybe, but they sold me the service promising daily backups?!
Had a reseller account initially with webfusion back in 2000, then Host Europe and finally Pipex. New reseller system very limited, constant problem with spam. Support request are slow usually more than 24 hours.
Yesterday after saying I wish to cancel the service I suddenly find all sites wiped from the server including 6 clients, no warning. I have been reloading but this left me in my office until 9pm trying to sort, also nameservers needed updating so clients without sites for 24 hours, one still without. Not funny.
Attitude to fact the sites had been wiped was unbelieveable. Stay clear is all I will say. There are other issues including the VPS but that's for another day.
We've been with webfusion since 2000. After a datacentre move customer support went downhill. Since PIPEX really took over it's got a lot worse. We've had a problem with POP3 accounts just locking for no reason and the helpdesk just didn't follow it through. And the latest blow???? Unbelievable!!
They have lowered their reseller package by 50% on the monthly price, but are refusing to allow their existing customers to move onto the new tariff! That's IT - I'm moving elsewhere!
DO NOT use Webfusion. Shop around for a better deal/ service. At first (2 years ago) all seemed well. Following the server moves from London to Manchester, everything went down the pan. Server downtime is a regular occurence and the tech support team (when they can be bothered to answer the phone) are the most unmotivated, uncaring bunch of people I've ever had to deal with. Any support requests via the control panel are responded to in about 3 days. Please note that I said "responded to", not "resolved". Resolution takes anything up to 6 weeks. I am still awaiting a response as to why email addresses from multiple domains are failing to show up in the control panel and bouncing everything back (a query from December 2005).
Ive been with webfusion now for about 18 months, At the beginning this host was ideal, very easy to set up and was quick. Not knowing much at the time i was very happy, Then the downtime started. Every time i phoned support all i got was "we are rebooting the server". At one point i asked to speak to a manager and was told "none availible" and was instantly redirected to support.
There accounts deparment was great, not once was i ever over charged for anything, this is good as most companys at least over charge you once.
Tech support was ok, If you had a problem they would stay on the phone with you untill it had be concluded.but be prepared to spend a lot of the time on the phone asking "why is my site down?"
Overall it was the constant downtime that made me move hosts or i would of been very happy to stay with them. my last 2 weeks with them, my site was down every single night for at least a hour while they sorted it.
The accounts are very limited, You get 1 mysql 600mb of soace and 7gb for over £80 a year, Im currently on a host that gives me unlimited everything for half the price.
I upgraded to WebFusion from HostLogical (please DO NOT USE THEM!!!) as I needed a reliable name once my business got serious. I've had bad experiences with Pipex before but I needed to have a stable company host my site.
All went well on their Ecommerce package until one day our server wasn't available. I called support to see the server status "We've switched you off - didn't pay your bill" - had to forward them the email from their accounts team admitting a cock up and promising no downtime.
Two days later, site's unavailable again. "You were too busy so we switched you off" - yes that's right, we were too busy so they terminated our service. Numerous complaints later, they switch back on, but ecommerce system stopped working "Oh yeah, we edited YOUR files so that the software would stop working"
So far, we've been down for two days and it's cost us £10K in lost revenue. Thanks Pipex!
My suggestion is use these guys to begin with as everything was great, but they really can't deal with serious businesses and their support team are the laziest bunch of idiots I've ever dealt with, they never look at your server, they just copy and paste out of manuals and expect you to do the rest. Telephone support in the evenings for the UK's biggest hosts - 1 guy for shared, 1 guy for dedicated hosting, absolute shambles.

I'm now swithcing to a local provider who you can see in the flesh, who cares about our business and who I can punch if he treats me like Pipex did!
I am extremely disappointed with the fact that PIPEX (a name which I have always trusted to) has a division like WebFusion.
It's been more than 48 hours since I have ordered my hosting plan and
nothing is set up, no communications from WebFusion are received and all my telephone calls and messages are being left with no response whatsoever! Customer service executives have no idea what is going on and can not give me any explanation apart from empty promises of a callback from someone in the know.
Needless to say that 48 hours for setting up of a hosting account is more than enough if not ridiculous at all! This is 21st century and most hosting companies set up hosting within an hour.
On every level of my communications with WebFusion I have encountered
extreme lack of professionalism and customer neglect, I have learned that WebFusion is NOT an easy and fast service as advertised, but quite the opposite.
Not only shall I be cancelling my account, but I shall make an effort to share my experience with the others and shall make sure that appropriate comments are placed on all major UK hosting review websites.
It is always a shame to realise that one has wasted so much time and has been deceived by a famous name used by those who lack any degree of professionalism to match it!
