Verdict :
Have switched to Catalyst2 after a terrible time with Godaddy. It was recommended by my web developer. They have excellent customer service and uptime. I've not had any hitches with them, and a very pleased I changed. I should have done it sooner and not suffered years of unpredictability with Godaddy!
I have hosted with Catalyst2 for almost 10 years now, they have never failed me once no matter what my request has been. They are 100% reliable, their response time is amazing, and really no requirement is ever too much for them to handle or help propose an ideal solution.
Having also had to use other hosts over time, they still remain by far the hosting company I would without fail recommend to anyone - and which I have already done so on numerous occasions.
Been with them for over 5 years & I've always been very happy. They're reasonably priced, and I've experienced a minimum of downtime. Whenever I have had problems (often my fault) I've always found their support to be speedy and helpful. They've sorted many problems out in a matter of minutes.
Its such good value you could worry that it would be any good but it is ridiculously fast, always seems to work and the support usually get back to you within a few minutes.
I can thoroughly recommend catalyst2, they have been helpful with issues I had with my site, they have been very quick to respond, very friendly and efficient, great customer service and just nice people, please don't hesitate to use this company I am glad I did.
We would definatly recommend Catalyst2 to anyone looking for a good host. We have used their service for a while now and are more than happy with the service provided. Support is always spot on and quick to resolve any issues. Their hosting platform is easy to use and the whole experience has been the best.
I'm very impressed with their customer service. With my older one I had to wait for hours for a response and this was never to the point so I had to clarify and then wait for a response, again, and so on. With Catalyst2 I don't have to wait at all and they seem to know well their system. The price is good also although I would have liked more emails for their basic hosting.
Catalyst2 are simply the best if you have a problem usually self inflicted in my case they respond immediately with a solution. I wouldn't use anyone else.

Outstanding customer service every time. The team are excellent at helping whenever I have issues (IT not my forte!). Hosting packages are great value and I would not ever want to go somewhere else.

I have absolutely nothing but positive things to say about Catalyst2, I have been using them for over 5 years for many personal clients as well as recommendations to other companies and they have always met all my/their needs and more (unlike other hosting companies). These guys are amazing. Fast responses to requests for help, and tonight I stupidly deleted my webspace in a clumsy error. It took 19 minutes from me asking for help for it to be back up and running. I couldn't ask for more, especially as it was my fault in the first place.
Catalyst2 were my first ever web host, and their prices were alright. However, I wanted to do some more stuff, and the price just went up and up and up.
I had a large file hotlinked to and it exceeded all usage across my domains, so they said that I had to buy extra bandwidth from them even though it wasn't my fault. Not theirs either, but the way they said it to me stunk of attitude.
You see it quite a lot - the technical people dealing with the non-technical people, you get a lot of attitude coming down when you have a really important/strange/urgent problem, the support company give you short, snappy answers and offer no apology when the problem was caused by the host.
I've moved all my domains to Heart Internet - but their support is also frustratingly stupid and rude at times.
Verdict: if you want to pay too much for a host that doesn't give you any extras, go ahead. I'd say you'd be better off finding something elsewhere though.
The problem.
For some reason on their side, my login is not accepted. It is puzzling why they repeatedly have trouble recognizing my login information. However that isn't the real problem. The problem is their refusal to reset my password or give me access into my account.
My Action
I've communicated with both Jacob and Paul who seem to be the support division. I had changed email address in my communication with Catalyst2. But, I had been communicating with them for several years via that same email address and have had them reset my password. Yet now they have refused to for about two weeks and counting.
To help resolve the situation I communicated to Catalyst2 via the original email with which I opened the account, sending them original receipt and first communications received from them. I've also sent to Catalyst2 the most recent Paypal receipt connected to my email address so that they can verify that indeed I am the true owner of this inaccessible account. I've included both email addresses in each communication giving them the option of responding to either one.
Catalyst2 Attitude
To my puzzlement, Catalyst2 suddenly stopped responding without reason. I'm being prevented from updating my site without any explanation.
Now, even if they ultimately reply, I shall search for a better host known to have a better attitude. It's very freightenning when a host for which service I've paid refuses communication with its customer and leaves the customer locked out of his/her account unable to update his/her website.
Cat2 hosting and Cat2 services/administration are top shelf.
Easy setup, numerous features and add-ons, quick response to questions and issues from the Cat2 team and best of all fantastic pricing plans for users and resellers alike.
I have used Catalyst2 for co-location and standard web hosting packages. I have always found Catalyst2 to be very supportive of any problems I have had, be it coding errors I couldn’t understand, system outages or just not understanding why something wasn’t working. They always provide an answer to the questions I have asked and you can always contact someone when required.
I would recommend Cat2 to anyone and would use them for business hosting solutions.
I have had nothing but good experiences with Catalyst2. Their support is very fast. It is rare for an email enquiry to take longer than 1 hour to be responded to. Other hosts take days to sort out problems which Cat2 sort out in hours.
They are very flexible - they have installed custom components for me.
There is a great control panel allowing you to do almost anything.
Pricewise, their reseller account is the cheapest around if you consider what it includes (5 MS SQL Databases)
If you are in America, keep your webhosting service in America! At least STAY AWAY from Catalys2. The have the very worst customer service EVER! If you have more than one site hosted thru them and a payment is due on one of them, even if you remove that particular site because you no longer need it, they will remove ALL OF YOUR SITES hosted thru them.. not only that, they will lock you out of their system, so even if you wanted to submit a ticket, you can't. You can only e-mail "Paul" and wait over 3 days for a reply. They are very unreliable and treat their customers as if they (Catalyst2) were doing you (the customer) a favor! I just paid them for one of the websites I host thr them; another one was due by the end of this month, which I removed weeks before, they still are charging me for it and shut down the website I had just paid them for! They don't even have phone support. STAY AWAY from them (if you care about your business)!!
Good british host, high prices in my opnion however worth paying for a reliable and useful host. Little downtime if any. I would recommend them if you are looking for a host in the UK.
